I did the sunrise tour with my 7 year old daughter. I'll start by saying our guide Christian was the BEST! Of course it was the morning of a very popular bike race which caused the roads to be closing starting very early but Christian made sure he was always a step ahead of the closures without us feeling rushed at all. Seeing Rome that early in the morning, no crowds was truly something special. We were the only people at the Scalinata della Trinità dei Monti (Spanish Steps...I learned the true name on the tour 😉) Our favorite stop was The Aventine Keyhole, my daughter is still talking about it. We had to skip the breakfast part because my daughter was pretty tired and we had a big day ahead but I knew that would be hard for her going into it. Definitely my loss as I'm sure it would have been amazing but experiencing that with one of my children was the greatest gift. I am so thankful to have met Christian and heard his stories. An unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone going to Rome.
We did the Roman street food tour and booked it for the day we arrived in Roma. We arrived at the meeting location a bit stressed and frazzled from the day’s travel but Jamila, our guide, made it so relaxing and enjoyable. She brought us to some delicious places to try traditional Roman street food and we had very good conversation. She really helped us to feel comfortable and to spot legitimate local cuisine rather than the tourist traps many fall in to. We came to Italy to try authentic food, not the food designed for tourists. We look forward to the rest of our time in Roma and this tour helped us to get off on the right foot. What a treat!
The 4 Roman Pastas was an ABSOLUTELY fantastic cooking class. Cristina and Valentina were wonderful. They opened their home and shared their recipes and experience with us. Excellent food, wine and company. HIGHLY recommend this experience
An exciting trip through the cozy streets of Rome with an excellent guide who was good at adjusting the tour to the group. We heard wonderful stories and tasted delicious food on the way. All our recommendations!!
We did the pasta tasting. The experience was incredible & absolutely a must on your visit to Rome. We learned so much & it was such a fun, intimate experience. We are so glad we booked it. Local Aromas is such a wonderful company & made us feel like family.
This was a wonderful experience, learning all about Aperitivo and how to find and enjoy the best places. What is amazing about Local Aromas is that the guides are so passionate about Rome and the Roman culture and way of life, and excited to share with you. Our evening with Jamila was very much Aperitivo with a new friend, swapping stories, laughing and people watching. If you are new to Rome, then you must do this tour and you must book with Local Aromas.
We did a Wine Tour with Eric and we had a great time. His knowledge of wines combined with historical facts and a really interesting conversation made for a wonderful time. The wines and food were delicious and the places we went to were charming and allowed us to explore a bit more of Rome. Would highly recommend!
There aren't enough words to show my gratitude and happiness with Local Aromas! I'm so happy that I booked their services. I found them through TikTok a while back and found their content authentic and warm. I booked the Roman food tour and a private cooking class which my family loved! I definitely recommend and if I ever return, I will make sure to contact Benny and the staff. They are amazing, like family! Grazie mille!
Maggie made our first day in Rome very memorable. Everything we tried on the street food tour was amazing. We were tired after a long flight, but having Maggie guide us and share interesting facts and information about Rome let us to make the most of our first day.
We did the sunrise tour and our guides, Francesco and Christian were exceptional. It was by far the best part of our vacation and we would recommend it to anyone. As a bonus, we told them we are both vegan, and they made sure we had options at the breakfast place. Well worth the money for this tour!
My wife and I did the Sunrise tour with Luka? He was very professional and punctual. To visit the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps uncrowded was a pleasure. We also did The Apervita tour with Margherita, she was knowledgeable and very personal. It was like spending time with one of our adult children's classmate rather than a tour guide. Lastly we did the pizza and gelato tour with Debra? We visited 3 pizzerias and 2 gelato stores. You have to pace yourself when you are eating Pizzas. Now a few constructive criticisms . After we had our zoom conference with Benedeta and told her what we wanted it took several emails to confirm the tours, the meeting place and time. Also getting the prices and payment link required more follow-up emails from me. It would have been better if all that could have been handled in 1 or 2 emails rather than 8 emails. Also the tours are on the expensive side but we felt that we received value because all the tours are private. That wasn't made clear when we made our reservations. I think it would be helpful in their marketing to emphasize that their tours are private.
We had the most amazing evening with Benedetta! We learned so much and had such a memorable experience. I will refer Local Aromas to everyone visiting Rome.
Considering it is our first time visiting Rome, my parents and I wanted to take the Roman street food tour to orient ourselves (with true, delicious food) in this big city. Being in a new city can be nerve-racking, but with our guide Jamila, I felt as though I was a local visiting a friend! Jamila was a wonderful guide who was so knowledgeable, not just about Roman food anthropology, but about Rome’s history and much of its architecture! She was extremely accommodating regarding my mother’s walking abilities and helped us navigate the streets expertly. Jamila even gave us recommendations for our following days in Rome, both regarding food and fun. Jamila is an absolute must when it comes to touring Rome and I’d take the same tour again just to walk and chat with her around the city. I would absolutely recommend Local Aroma’s Roman street food tour for the delicious, authentic spots and for Jamila’s hospitality.
What a wonderful experience! From the ease of booking our street food tour , the communication and the tour itself was all 5 star. Our guide Margherita, was delightful! Her knowledge of Rome, the history and the food were impressive. She made our first night in Rome one of the best! My new favorite food is Supplì!! Grazie Mille!!
Our chef and teacher Carla was excellent. She made us feel right at home and kept the night lively. I had little confidence in my cooking abilities and had lots of questions. Carla answered all my serious and sometimes silly culinary questions with attention and grace, of which I was very appreciative of. She was as personal as she was instructive, and we laughed a lot over the course of the 3+ hour lesson. My dad and I left the experience with tons of pasta-making knowledge and a deepened appreciation for Roman culture. A highlight of our trip, definitely.
My husband and I did the sunrise tour or Rome. Let me just say, this was way beyond our expectations! Francesco was our guide and he was amazing! He truly has a love for Roma and it came through loud and clear! I can’t say enough good things about Francesco and Local Aromas! We will absolutely use them again when we return!
We loved every minute of our olive oil tasting and dinner. While I was initially skeptical going in (my husband booked it without giving me much detail) it was such a pleasure and I learned more than I ever thought I would about olive oil. After the tasting came an amazing dinner cooked by a phenomenal cook. The dinner conversation was great and we enjoyed learning so much about the culture and life in general. I would highly recommend this over any other tour (and trust me, we did many!)
Sara narrated key historical highlights that contribute to the culture of the Roman people. She then showed us how this unique heritage is reflected in the food. And oh my! I don’t think I’ve tasted anything as amazing as the suppli. Along the way, she pointed out great local spots to try for a full meal. This tour is the right balance of walking and sampling - we left feeling satisfied, but not overstuffed. Highly recommend!
We had Sara as our guide for the Rome street food tour. Sara was very lovely and we felt comfortable the whole time. She had great knowledge of Roman history and food. The streets we walked were beautiful and all of the food was absolutely delicious. Also, I enjoyed being able to have a few drinks on the tour which I wasn’t expecting. I also really loved that Sara gave us recommendations for other places to try in Rome. Definitely a tour to recommend doing at the beginning of your trip to Rome!
Great food tour with Benny! The pizza and gelato were delicious - we tried a variety of pizzas and gelato flavors. Benny was very knowledgeable, fun and kind. We really enjoyed the experience!
