I was in the process of buying a car on EBay and as it was a cash sale I asked the seller if there was any outstanding finance on the vehicle. he stated that it was clear and that nothing was owing, however just to be sure I ran a HPI check and discovered that there was an outstanding finance on the vehicle which far exceeded what I was going to pay for it. Needless to say I am really pleased that I paid the bargain price of £19.99 as it saved me literally thousands.

I think the service is ok as there are other competitors around that do the same thing cheaper.

Its great to have site like this at your hand when buying car with no history. In my case i didn't know that car was total right off and insurance company refused to repair, therefore car is rated in category D, which instantly made my mind up in regards to purchase. without this i would have purchased a car that had hip on it, and the garage did not warn me either, so for £20 I saved £11.000 of dept.

Buying a car for my Son, so I wanted to be sure it was right, especially as I'm out of the UK long term, and so not there to see myself. Before getting the cars physically inspected (at 150 quid), I used this HPI service for three different perspective purchases, the first two showed the cars to be 'write off' one a Cat C the other a Cat D, on top of having mileage discrepancies, despite having been told by the vendor the car's were correct. The third report showed the car I used it for, to be correct and as described by the vendor. without this information the cars appear to be all good, when in fact they aren't. I was spending 4K, which is no small amount of money, but there are cars out there with checkered histories, that the vendors are asking 10 times this amount for ?! Piece of mind for 20 quid, it's a no brainer.

Paid for 3 reports first report came back good but car was not as clean as owner had said second report show car was cat-c but owner did not say in the add or on the phone and third report confirmed car was all ok and have since bought the car. many thanks HPI

Hello, I did a HPI check with RAC to save £4 and could not find the alert details about the plates changed. Besides, I could not retrieve the results on RAC either. HPICHECK provided this detail and put my mind to rest. Lost £15 on RAC but happy with the outcome on HPIcheck. Abdoul

I would recommend hpi is one of the top ones and is worth it and secure

I've always used HPI when buying a second hand car, and as usual they produced a comprehensive report, thankfully showing no problems to worry about :) I always worry about the less comprehensive £.1.99 type checks! Thanks
