If you’re going to check a cars past, use the best. You can get a £3.00 basic check but, does it give a guarantee? Worth every penny if you ask me. I lost a car once due to being a tightwad, never again. I know you need extra info like VINS and V5 issue numbers but if the seller has nothing to hide they will hand over freely. Even the most friendly of seller can sometimes be hiding something. Pay it, Check it, be safe. Dont get caught with your pants down and lose all your hard earned cash.

Quick and accurate report

Bought a check from hpi which showed my vehicle to be free of finance. Found out later the report provided by hpi was wrong and that finance is oustanding on my car from a date 2 years before i purchased the car and done the check. On contacting hpi they used every excuse but took no responsibility. They refused to help even though i purchased a hpi guarantee with the check. They even refused to refund me for the incorrect hpi check. BEWARE.

HPI provided us with great free guidance on the original purchase price of a vehicle we were looking to buy. Because of this, once we had placed our deposit to secure the vehicle, we purchased the full vehicle check. This provided us with the full history and vehicle spec. This gave us the confidence to proceed with making the purchase. Well worth the small amount to pay for peace of mind.

Worth the money and peace of mind prior to purchasing the car. There was a mileage discrepancy identified (potentially indicating a clocked vehicle). Luckily the data records were clear enough to identify that there had been a DVLA input error on the National Mileage Register and this was simple to clear and rectify by calling HPI. Lots of other info, easily found on government websites for free, but collated and summarised in a useful way. Let me know whether the car price matched current valuations and provided info re fuel efficiency. There is also a calculator to help show the cost of running the car. In addition there's lots of advice on how to purchase the car, a test drive check list, a link to a discounted pre-purchase vehicle inspection service, a template for drafting a purchase contract. I would recommend the vehicle inspection also as in my case it allowed me to get the dealer to rectify a number of issues with the vehicle and save me more costs in the long run.

Always worth the money. I have been saved multiple times from buying a vehicle with outstanding finance. Quick, informative and easy to use.

Best £20 ever spent!

Probably not the cheapest but its got to be one of the best giving plenty of information and actually giving me a warning regarding some outstanding finance on the vehicle I was purchasing.
