I ordered fresh fish box (large), smoked fish box, fruit and veg box, butter, two lots of tonic water and a Poacher's Pie. All arrived, on time, snugly packed in insulated wool pockets and ice. The produce is outstanding - all of it! I am coming back for more.

I have had 3 orders from FFE, which seems to be an alternative trading name for the sister company Highland Drovers. I have not yet tried any of the seafood, but the beef (free range Highland cattle)really is outstanding. Try buying one of the 990g sirloin 'flat' roasts and cutting it into 4 steaks yourself. You will never be happy eating even the best supermarket beef again and you will understand why it is expensive, which it certainly is. As a special treat, the chateaubriand is unsurpassed and when you are feeling less flush, the lean flatiron steaks make the perfect 'steak-frites' light meal. We have a leg of their Hebridean breed lamb for Easter and anticipate another treat. If you don't eat a lot of red meat but are happy to pay to get outstanding free range, properly hung and locally butchered Scottish meat when you do - look no further. The delivery (particularly the insulated packaging) is also excellent - 3/3 within 2 days.

This is my second purchase of fresh fish from Fresh Food Express. An email arrived in the inbox letting me know about a catch of Hake. I ordered and in a trice, beautiful, firm, sparkling fresh fillets of Hake arrived at my house so that I could make gorgeous Roast Hake with chorizo and peppers for supper. The food is delivered to my house and is wrapped wonderfully with ice and with wool as an insulator. It is vacuum packed so that it could go into the freezer if necessary. I love that I can get home from working and have perfect ingredients that can be cooked quickly to gve a delicious and very healthy result. The fish was landed locally so I know the provenance too. I am aware of various high quality producers that supply via Fresh Food Express including the glorious Auchtermuchty GF Cake Company. This is such a great idea, a bit like my Personal Food Shopper. BIG recommendation for this efficient and innovative company that delivers in every sense.
