When a covered item unexpectedly stops working, we’re here to help with getting it working again. As a leader in the home warranty industry since 1984, you can count on the protection, experience and stability of First American Home Warranty. Appliances and home systems will eventually fail. It’s unavoidable. A home warranty offers you a renewable service contract you can use to protect systems in your home such as heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical, as well as major appliances like your dishwasher, oven, clothes washer/dryer, refrigerator, and more. With our home warranty protection, when a covered item breaks, we’ll send a pre-screened service contractor to your home to diagnose the issue. Many of our customers request service multiple times each year and save hundreds to thousands of dollars on repair and replacement costs. These types of mechanical failures are typically not covered by your homeowners insurance, so a home warranty can help bridge that gap in protection by shielding your budget from these sudden expenses. You dropped the ball. 5 days to get someone out- who advised you they could not fix it, and the exact problem. No second company for 8 days and you did NOT advise them what the problem is. Now waiting 7 to 9 MORE days I HAVE NO REFRIGERATOR. You should have authorized a new one- this problem is big and it will break down again. DISGUSTED with your company
To be honest about my experience, the company has always responded immediately to my claims or questions. There is no issue with getting my claims paid in a timely manner.
Employ several companies to diagnosis and complete reported problems in timely manner. I have been without my washer since I reported. It came at an inconvenient time because my husband passed and visitors in and out
I had to wait several days after contacting you before I heard from the contractor. I tried contacting them but they didn’t return the call. Once they did confirm the appointment, they waited another 2 days to actually come. Once they came they fixed the issue. Just didn’t communicate in a timely manner
Solved our problem efficiently and thoroughly.
Quick service all is working great
Professional arrived on time, assessed and corrected the problem right away.
We’ve been with First American home warranty for almost a decade. I also have my family involved and I just referred a close friend of mine also for first American. I have never been dissatisfied with the service and many times I’m able to get the same company to come out and do any Repairs that we need to have done we are extremely happy with first American including the price. We also have our swimming pool in our policy very friendly associates to assist us with a good reputable company thank you very much first American.
Original company BTEC appliance repair was a horrible experience.
The company, Sunrise HVAC, never called or anything. I should add that after 3 days of no response, I called FAHW, and my money was refunded.
I am writing to file a complaint against First American for the inadequate handling and unfair costs associated with the repair of my air conditioning (AC) system, which was not successfully resolved despite two service visits and significant expenses on my part. Initial Service Request and Charges: On June 13, 2024, I contacted First American to address an issue with my AC system, which was not functioning. First American sent a service provider who diagnosed the problem as a failed compressor. I was charged for multiple "non-covered costs," totaling $1,375, which included the following: • Freon Recovery: $285 • Freon Disposal: $190 • Equipment Disposal: $150 • Armaflex Modification: $125 • Copper Modification: $200 • Electrical Modification: $150 • Condenser Coil Cleaning: $275 The compressor was replaced on July 30, 2024, 47 days after my initial request, during which I endured temperatures over 100°F. First American reviewed and approved the repair work. Recurring Issue and Additional Charges: On October 9, 2024, just 71 days after the compressor replacement, the AC stopped working again. First American sent a different company, which determined that the compressor needed to be replaced once more. I was informed that I would need to pay an additional $1,034 in non-covered costs for: • Sixty Amp Disconnect: $365 • Low Voltage Conduit and Line: $165 • UV Rated Insulation: $125 • Refrigerant Line Modification: $378 My Request for Full Unit Replacement and Inadequate Response: Given that I had already paid for a compressor replacement less than 90 days prior, I requested that First American replace the entire AC unit and offered to cover any additional non-covered costs for this. However, after escalation, they refused my request and informed me that I must either pay for these non-covered costs again or accept a cash-out option of only $115 to replace the compressor, as it was under a 90-day warranty. When I questioned why the warranty did not cover the previous $1,375 I had already paid, I was told my only options were to either pay the costs again or accept the $115 cash-out. Contract Cancellation and Insufficient Refund: Frustrated with the handling of my case, I chose to cancel my contract with First American on October 28, 2024. I had prepaid $714 for an annual contract on June 15, 2024. However, First American’s refund was only $183, as they deducted $188.50 for the claim cost. I had already paid $85 for the initial service call, which was only for diagnostics, leaving me with an additional unjustified deduction of $273.50.I have paid out of my own pocket to install a new AC system without the help of First American this second time around. On the first claim June 13th I paid for modificacions $1,375 requested anf then approved for First American, not me. On my second claim on October 9th FAHW told me I have to pay $1,034 for modificacions again to install the same piece (compressor) . In less than 90 ? Didn't they check since the first time ? Their compressor had warranty but not the modifications I paid and they approved?
Very efficient and in timely manner.
Plumber assessed problem quickly and made the repair.
Put in request to have GE washing machine repaired. SEARS home repair showed within 24 hours to diagnose problem. Technician was extremely courteous, professional and very knowledgeable of situation. Informed me that they had to order parts and would reschedule for repair..Received 4 of five parts and was told remaining part was still on order. After waiting 3 weeks, I purchased remaining part (which was received within 24 hours ) I have tried contacting SEARS repair service ad nauseum and kept getting run around. (The scheduling company is outsourced to a ESL (barely intelligeable) call center that promises that situation is handled.) To date we are on day 28 since claim has been filed with washer at brink of catastrophic failure without a date set for repair. Replacement would have been more cost effective than repair costs, I checked. This could have been settled in a day. We are going on a month. We have been customers for 16 years. But our fidelity with this company doesn't appear to matter at all. As of this report we are still unresolved.
Very helpful advocates, especially in Rosa. I appreciate the attempts in having another company work on the Samsung ref, in the end had to go back to the contractor, Sears. I understand, it is probably due to contracts set up already. The problem I encountered in the repair was mainly with the Sears contractor's internal system set-up.
Great Service
The service tech order parts and the office notify me and schedule a appointment to replace the part
terrible company - misinformation and each one u speak with give you different information. they promised that you can do up to three jobs each call but in fact you cannot. the three jobs must relate to the same exact thing. like a fridge need fixing and the three jobs must relate to the fridge only. scammers
Knowledge and mannerism! Awesome person and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company
The service was done professionally and without incident. The individual was knowledgeable and pleasant.
