Nothing unusual about this meal. Nothing I couldn't have made with a bit of chicken and things in my store cupboard I tried it but won't again. Oh and why are the Greek meals more expensive?

BEST EVER BIRTHDAY MEAL IN! It was my birthday and because I’ve been unwell for several months and my family has been looking after me, I hoped a recipe box would be a treat for us all. I only thought of this on Thursday (no research just jumped on the first company who could deliver quickly) and by Saturday morning - as promised - 3 huge boxes arrived on the doorstep. Honestly we had so much fun putting together these dishes, they were absolutely delicious but challenging enough to be different, yet also easy enough to take on whilst drinking fizz and dancing to Blondie (they’d just been to Glastonbury and were full of it). We made pitta bread and mayonnaise, stuffed peppers and all the rest of the Spanish tapas. Quite unnecessarily we added an extra chicken dish from another range. Never mind it was all eaten. We had fun, a laugh, wore the apron, ate exceptionally tasty food. Danced. Cheered us all up. Happy birthday me!!
I have tried 2 boxes...the first , Chicken Dum , second Railway curry. Daughter has claimed the recipe cards, the biriyani with the curry was lovely. I lived in Tehran for 3 years , travelled in SE Asia and Isreal so lets say my cooking is eclectic. These boxes are excellant value , top quality produce , super for newbie cooks and the more accomplished to try a truly authentic dish. What a great discovery finding the service. Thanks.

All the recipes were great and high quality ingredients! But what was great was how easy it was...I prepped 4 of the dishes in an hour.
I have ordered the Indian BBQ box and although it has arrived when expected, I won't be ordering again from The Cookaway as the quality of the ingredients and the customer service are very poor. The chicken for two of the recipes had a very strong smell and was slimy and customer services said that that's expected for vacuum-packed meat and tried to blame it on the courier although the meat was delivered cold as expected. Also not all the spices required for the recipes were provided. Customer services offered £3 credit to use towards a future order even though I have requested a partial refund on the original payment method. I have gone back to them to ask for the refund on the original payment method again but haven't had a response since then. I don't feel a £3 refund is proportionate since I haven't been able to cook two recipes due to poor quality of the ingredients provided. Better stick with other recipe box businesses.
