We were initially disappointed that the day we’d booked for delivery had to be changed because it was a Bank Holiday, One of the reasons we’d chosen Cookaway was because it offered that day of delivery. Then, when it was delivered it was to the wrong house so that caused more upset. However, Cookaway was able to help and we got the parcel in the end. Regarding the food - it was well-packaged, the ingredients were all marked and the cooking instructions were clear. It was a full-on cooking experience and maybe we could have done without actually having to cook the pittas. The chicken was delicious also the tsatziki and the chips were….different but OK.
The bottom line is that all agreed that it was a delicious meal, the beef particularly being commented on as superb. But there were issues suggesting that packaging could be improved: a bottle of EVOO had shattered spreading oil and shards of glass; the lid on a small plastic tub of paprika had opened leaving a mess; to meet the required quantities we had to add additional butter. The instructions were excellent enabling me, very much a novice in the kitchen, to impress with the meal.
Kept in communication all the time, and knew exactly when to expect the delivery. Ample fresh, quality ingredients. Would definitely recommend .

Delivery of spanish paella arrived as planned but when I started preparing the food a jar of artichokes and the bottle of evoo was broken and had leaked in the box!
The food was very good quality & packaged well with easy to follow instructions. I really enjoyed the cooking and the meal was delicious

The cook away experience was bought for us as wedding gift. It was absolutely delicious, everything was in the box needed for our meal. Enjoyed the cooking of the meal too. Would definitely recommend.
Great selection and as an experience it is lovely thing and good value for money. I have to admit I don't watch the videos... so maybe I am missing out... but inevitably everything takes longer than it says it will and it is a treasure hunt for ingredients. Still we have not burned the house down and everything was yummy. I do take a half a day out to cook and prepare everything.

Sampled the Malaysian night market meal. Absolutely delicious food with all the ingredients provided and very clear instructions. We especially appreciated the card that told us which steps to do for which dishes in chronological order and not just each dish separately! Genius. Simply amazing culinary experience and hugely generous portions- we had leftovers for lunch! Definitely be trying again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my cook away experience. However, I'd not realised quite how long it would take to get all the dishes sorted and ready for eating! On hindsight it would have been more sensible for me to start with something less ambiguous. That said we enjoyed the results. The plan of what part to tackle at each part of the journey was invaluable - a great help. Only criticism if that there did not seem to be sufficient gram flour for the samosas. The first few I made did not hold together. I remedied the situation by adding some extra gram flour from my store, around 25-50g. Overall, really pleased and I have the recipe cards, and plan sheet. Excellent.
Lovely Katsu Curry. Unfortunately, one of the eggs arrived broken! Took a while to prepare. For my next order I will probably arrange to cook on a weekend.
We ordered the Greek Meze. It arrived on time and well packed. All the ingredients were nice and fresh and each dish had a good quality recipe card that we can keep and use another time. The instructions were easy to follow. The quantity of food was generous for the 2 of us so we had left overs that contributed towards 2 more meals! All the courses were delicious so we will definitely buy meals again from The Cookaway.
