It is a pity I had to give 1 star. Avonline have carried out shoddy work and left the pavement an inch below my drive causing damage. If they are planning work in front of your house don't let them

They have been installing fibre in our cul de sac and are blocking cars in and leaving gate guards and road signs scattered everywhere. When I try to speak to them they all say they cannot speak English. Surely they must have accreditation to dig and set up street works guarding so must speak English to pass their accreditation. What a shower

Awful company, where are the regulators!! Avonline engineers had been attempting to install Virgin Media cables for a neighbour but in the process cut our BT line by standing on the cable and snapping it (as confirmed by 3 Openreach engineers the next day). The conduct of the Avonline engineers was disgusting, no acknowledgement, no apology, repeatedly saying “it was a coincidence” our internet cut out the very moment they were underground messing with cables. Myself and my partner could not work for a day whilst waiting for the cables to be fixed and I want compensation. Ive attempted to ring Avonline countless times to complain but no answer. No response to emails and oh what a surprise the enquiry form on their website also doesn’t work. I’ve rang Virgin Media to tell them their subcontractors are not fit for purpose but Virgin are incredibly hard work too. I will continue to complain until one of the companies acknowledge me!

My next door neighbour has the misfortune of having this company try to install broadband for them. They’ve had 3 visits so far and are still without. During one of these visits they blocked my driveway twice despite me requesting they didn’t. Furthermore they put all their cabling/plastics etc in my skip. I know this to be true because of said materials and my cctv, which also showed them letting their dog run free in my garden. I’m thoroughly annoyed with them and they’ve done no work for me. Judging by these reviews they won’t be welcome at most homes.

Goodness where to start..... They have been laying Fibre Optic Cables in and around the area we live in N.Wilts and the mess they leave behind is something else alongside questionable workmanship. I'm all for improving Broadband speed but at what cost. I could go on and on but having read other similar reviews it appears that it's all been said already.

I am absolutely disgusted that l cannot even get through to Avonline networks to talk to somebody and explain what has happened today at my property. So l had no choice but to explain on here. My neighbour had a new phone line put in today , l could see the 2 men outside my house working on the pavement, l then went out shopping for a few hours and came back went to use my phone and it was dead, turned my tv on and l have nothing, no landline working,tv or internet.They have obviously cut through my virgin media cable and now l am offline due to to the incompetent men that came to my neighbours property. l am disgusted as l cannot get hold of anyone from your company to help me or explain. When l tried calling the number off my mobile a message keeps coming up saying you are busy and to either call back or email your concern, but surprise surprise the email address given isnt valid and my emails keep coming back as undelivered!.Shocking company , disgusting customer service l want somebody to take my complaint on board or l will be taking this further!!

An Avonline employee in a Avonline sign written van followed my wife home from work today, then he tried to attack her on our drive. She was very upset and had to lock herself in her car for safety until the police arrived. He was very very aggressive and offensive. I intervined and told him to leave but he refused. If you are an Avonline customer be very careful, this person was very offensive, the police are investigating.

I too have just received a letter from a debt collection agency despite the fact I cancelled 14 months ago and the last communication from them was 12 months ago. That was when they asked for a copy of my cancellation email which I refused on the grounds I have their confirmation of receipt email. To add to the insult the amount being claimed bears no relation to the monthly amounts I was paying and if they do not think I have cancelled then the amount owing would be 3 or 4 times higher. I am sending them a polite email back setting out the dates of previous communications and politely telling them to get lost. As said many times by many reviewers - quite the most dreadful company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

Zero stars. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We dealt with them for around a year, complaining of a service so slow it was not fit for use, never mind the fact that it was grossly overpriced. It took around 4 months to get an agreement by phone to cancel the service. There was never a returned email or phone call to be had, and the customer service rep kept saying they were dealing with a "backlog" and to be patient. I finally got verbal agreement to remove the dish and cancel the service. I drove the dish up to Bicester to avoid the £140 removal charge. The man I left the dish with scribbled an illegible signature on a bit of scrap paper to acknowledge receipt of dish. Now, 2 years later, we have been contacted by a credit collection company that we owe them for unpaid bills. WHAT???????????? DO NOT USE. AVOID. SCAM ARTISTS. ABSOLUTELY HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE. WORST. EVER.

If I could have given them less stars I would have they charged us for finishing with them we payed to send the equipment back to them and 18 months later they just came back to us saying that they haven't had there equipment back and are going to charge us £240 for replacements of they will be taking us to court this company shouldn't be a company they are the worst I have ever seen don't use them.

I am appalled with the service I have received from Avonline. I am continually fobbed off and to be quite frank 'lied to' to get me off the phone. Continual problems with lack of connection. Currently I have had no internet connection at my work office for 2 weeks.

I cannot believe how this business treat their customers. You have to sign-up for a minimum of two years (which is too long given that you don't know how good the signal and service will be) and if you aren't happy (slow, inconsistent and limited) and want to finish with them because of this then you have to pay for the rest of the outstanding term (i.e. no break clause for poor performance) plus also it is your responsibility to remove your dish and send it back to them. They do offer this service but it costs you £89.99. I contacted their customer services and waited 15 minutes for the phone to be answered. I tried to give them notice now for finishing in 6 months time but was told that I couldn't do so as I can only give notice 30 days or less before the end of the term. I have never heard such nonsense. Very very disappointing and clearly off the back of these issues wouldn't recommend them.

My company has been using Avonline for around 6 years and over that time they have been a truly awful service provider. The only reason that we continue to use their service is that at three of our remote locations they are the only way we can get any internet service at all. And so we stick with them only because we absolutely have no alternative. Firstly, I don't think they advertise their product fairly. They market their product in such a way that people believe they are getting 'just another' internet connection, comparable to a wired copper or fibre circuit. This is absolutely not the case. Their satellite links are inherently different to wired services and perform very differently as a result. This is not made clear to the customer at all. Avonline will quote high bandwidths - up to 25 Mbps and other such nonsense. In fact they will usually only be able to deliver speeds of less than 8-10 Mbps and at peak times this can drop to around 1 Mbps. We continuously monitor the bandwidths available through their services and know this to be the case. It's also been confirmed to us by their own staff. The poor speeds are partly due to the system being so overloaded - too many subscribers - but it's also down to inherent issues with satellite links that carry TCP/IP data. Their system does work, but it cannot and should not be compared to a wired service. It should be advertised for what it is - a communication system of last resort for use where no other service is available. Streaming and other higher bandwidth usage is not likely to be available. There will always be a few who claim that it is but I am highly sceptical. Satellite systems have an inherently high latency due to the amount of time it takes a packet of data to make the journey up into space and back down again. High latency tends to defeat the flow control mechanisms of TCP/IP communications. There are mitigations for this but they only offer limited benefits. It's pretty much baked in that you're never going to achieve the kinds of speeds that are advertised, even if the system wasn't oversubscribed to the hilt. Then we have the shocking technical support. Some of their people do genuinely try but quite a few of them are lazy and, for example, don't even bother to update their case management systems when you call in. Advice offered is poor, confused and often just downright wrong. Training must be poor to non existent. I recently had to explain how IP addressing worked to one of their technicians who was getting very confused about a particular technical problem. How on earth are they supposed to troubleshoot and solve problems when they don't understand basic IP networking? You can expect vague, misleading answers and unreturned telephone calls from this lot. Finally, it's all rounded off by a shabby customer services setup. Common problems include billing errors, more unreturned calls and rudeness. It's actually difficult to see how they could get it more wrong. An overpromised service which simply cannot live up to the claims, a lazy technical support team, poorly trained and with what appears to be bad morale and rounded off by an uncaring and badly organised customer services department. Use them if, as we do, you absolutely have no alternative.

Poor Customer services. Very slow internet speeds. Does not work period for often hours at a time. When you phone customer support they will not answer your calls, you can try several times a day often for 2 to 3 days before they answer normally takes about 15 to 20 mins of ringing them. Very disapointed with the way this company behave - very expensive also. Go elsewhere If I were you. The reviews on here speak for themselves. Avonline - you can contact me anytime to discuss all my problems if you wish and get your review made better on here.

The internet provided is intermittent and will entirely cut out regularly. This unfortunately means contacting the customer service department. They are only open 9.30 - 5.00 on weekdays; for a telecoms provider this is entirely inconvenient. Not to mention to get in touch with someone you will have a minimum wait likely to be in excess of 20 mins. This is up there with one of the worst companies i have ever had the displeasure in dealing with and for a telecoms provider I am surprised they are still in business other than knowing people in rural spots have limited options and they take full advantage of this and lock you in and then provide 0 service. My advice is to stick with the slow internet provided by the usual suspects, the speed may be slow but at least the internet will be there and the customer service will be far superior.

they are a waste of time, firstly they said they could install the dish within a week, i got the equipment delivered within two days but it took five weeks for them to actually turn up. The engineer was hilarious, tried telling the dish would be better lower down rather than up high??? more like its easier to install ! they claim it is up to 30mbps but its more like around 1mbps. we went with a high data package but after just probably around 30mins of use, just looking at things like face book, emails etc, no live streaming or downloads, the data ran out! we actually do not bother using it any more, waiting for the contract to end. would have been better off paying for two bt lines, still have one bt line which only gives us about 1mbps but is still a lot faster that the satellite !

I spoke with Chris Jones this morning and he seemed quite helpful. I thought I would go ahead, however the trouble I had getting through and continually ending up with answerphones etc made me look for other peoples experiences. Just in time I decided not to go with them. My own experience validated the comments made by others.

WOW! First time I have read these comments on the company. I have been with Avonline for a few years. We live 500M up a Scottish hill so we do not have a land line. BT wanted £12,000 to lay a telephone line to our house. I assumed that they did not want the job. We upped our bandwidth when my son and our granddaughter came to stay for a year. The my granddaughter went back to NZ and my son met a pair of blue eyes and took off. Rang the company to reduce bandwidth and this was done pronto. Can't imagine what has happened to cause all this negative comment. But, there must be a reason.
