Today I have discovered OpenDrive, I opened an account and I did a test for a music file, and they supplied me with an IFRAME to the file itself, which l embedded into my site, which shows a nice player, which is much nicer than the one supplied by DROPBOX, as the controls are all in the same line, so 25px height is sufficient. It offers 5GB of space for FREE User type, 150% more than DROPBOX. The direct link to the file is the thing l like the most about it. I recommend it to everyone to try and fall in love with it. Thank you

Ok, so let me start by saying that I originally got this in hopes to store some large media files on it. I have about 2.5TB of data to upload so, for me, the unlimited was a no-brainer, especially at $12.95/month. I was looking at bitcasa's unlimited and that price went from $100 a year to $1000, so by far OpenDrive is the cheapest. I really like that this service supports WebDAV. However, the backup client is crap. I highly recommend that if you are trying to upload large amounts of data and you have a pipe that supports it you should upload using a 3rd party client that allows you to set the number of threads. I am not exactly sure what the OpenDrive client supports in terms of number of threads, but it looks to be one. Unfortunately, for those of us who have 100mb/s pipes or higher this is not enough bandwidth. We want to be able to use as much of our pipe as we can when backing up our machines. I think having a way for users to set their limits would be very helpful. Unfortunately, this is not entirely OpenDrive's fault as a lot of clients use a set number of threads, just surprises me that OpenDrive would not publish this small limitation, or design a client that can go beyond this limit. Even using Explorer will cap the amount of speed you can use over ftp and webdav types of things. If speed is important to you then I highly recommend using a client like CrossFTP to connect to the webdav (HTTPS) drive using your opendrive login (webdav.opendrive.com). With this client I was able to set the number of threads and boost my upload a huge amount. Originally I was averaging anywhere between 1MB/s upload to 5MB/s. After bumping the threads to 10 I went up to between 12MB/s -20MB/s. In comarison my pipe supports 25MB/s maximum (I have a 200mbps dedicated pipe). I do wish that OpenDrive's client supported more threads or at least a way to set the number. I know a lot of users don't have huge upload pipes, but times are starting to change. We should get the most out of our expensive pipes as we can. I also wish that OpenDrive supported SFTP as well. I know webdav is quicker but sftp is convenient as a lot of applications can pull directly from it using sftp. There still are not a lot of programs that support webdav natively yet. Hopefully that will start changing.

Their apps are all half built and the functionality just doesn't work. It sounds like a great deal, but it's all just really half pulled together. I strongly dislike. Their prices are great, but you get what you pay for.

The entire service is not working, the apps are full of bugs and the tech support is very arrogant and impolit. And they refuse to give me a refund, they saids I need to a proof the issues are on their side. The transferts speeds is very slow, about 2 Mbps on a 100 Mbps connexion. And the uploads keep stoping and starting and fail after few time. Its a real scam, stay away from OpenDrive. I have opened a dispute on PayPal.
