Donington Park Circuit, DE74 2BN, Castle Donington, GB
BaT are always trust worthy in ensuring their track days are extremely well organised, professional, and most importantly safe! Only slight frustrating is the £50 cost for an additional driver, this is something that does 'grind' on me compared to the typical £25 charge with other track day vendors.
We have done a number of trackdays with different companies, this one was great. It was one of the most expensive, for the day and for the extras like booking a garage and 2nd driver, but otherwise nothing to complain about. A nice selection of high end cars, everyone was well mannered, the briefing was succinct but covered the important points and not patronising, I was texted the garage number on the day so had that handy as I arrived, it is a great track, and to top it all free tea and biscuits all day! Fantastic!
See you in Italy next year!
I rented a Caterham for the first time to sample one prior to thinking of buying one and to show some friends around Donington Park. As a seasoned racer the experience was great fun. Jonny and the team provide a safe but informal and relaxed approach culminating in a great experience. Would not hesitate in doing it again and recommending to friends.
Ive been attending trackdays since Bookatrack first started around 16 years ago. Having now done well over 100, I can say that BaT are the best. Johnny is the only person I know that can make the incredibly boring but necessary safety briefings funny! He always makes the effort to explain the need for inexperienced drivers to regularly check their mirrors and appreciate that they need to move over at the start of the straights to let faster cars pass. Many trackday organizers dont bother, meaning quicker drivers spend much more of their tracktime waiting for a slower car in front to move over. Keep it up Johnny and Sarah!
Great people great Organisation and fantastic track. C u soon Tamas
I've been on numerous track days and I can honestly say this was the most professional and we'll run I've been to , perhaps javlin could attend one of your briefings and events to see how it's done
Thanks for the fun @ Donington Park. The day was well organised - the necessary briefing covering the essentials but light and no longer than needed. BookaTrack staff and refreshments available in the pits throughout the day. Well recommended.
After watching the British GP earlier in 2014 we pondered what it must feel like to drive on one of the worlds best race circuits. Well the day arrived and we had to pinch ourselves, a car, the track and the freedom to experience Silverstone for ourselves. The Caterham R300 was well prepared, the engineers helpful and knowledgeable. The feeling was look after yourself but just go and have fun. After over 60 laps the adrenalyn and stupid grin had failed to subside. Next stop Spar.
Great circuits. Proper briefing. Unsafe driving not tolerated. Friendly, helpful staff.
The briefing was late and we didnt get on track till 10:10am for the first sighting laps. No information was given as to how many sighting laps or sighting groups were to be completed. Was a little anoyed that my cars's diff decided to give up the ghost within 1 hour of track time but I suppose thats just race cars in general, but my collegue arrived at 3pm, I approached one of your officials to ask if I could give my car's sticker to him which would allow him to have the last 2 hours on track in his car, this proved a problem and a further £50 would be required. I thought this was a tad harsh as I had already paid my fee for my car which was no longer on track. For a premium fee charging track day organiser I would of thought in this sort of situation a bit of license and consideration to the track day enthusiast would of been used, but it wasnt the case, just seemed bookatrack were just more interested in getting as much money as possible from the enthusiasts. There were instances of people blatently swapping windscreen stickers from car to car then going out on track, we could of done this but felt obliged to be honest and speak to an official first. Bit of a kick in the teeth really when we were told we had to pay the full extra driver fee for the final 2 hours which was more like an hour and a half after all the faffing around. I would use book a track again but I would like to see a bit more effort towards the organisation, policing and general attitude towards the car enthusiasts. For an organiser which charges more than others, the service does seem to have fallen beloow cheaper organisers on this occasion. I hope my comments dont sound to negative im just trying to be honest about my experience compared to other organisers I have used. Editied - Changed star rating from 2 to 3, I may have been a bit harsh, on the plus side the photo's which BAT organise are very good and are individually sectioned off from the rest so all you view is your own. Very nice little touch.
This was my first track day. The day was really well organised by friendly staff. There was not waiting around and everything went on schedule which resulted on all the track time I wanted. Would recommend bookrack to anyone thinking of doing a track day.
Not been with BAT for a few years and all aspects were great good organisation great tracktime only one red flag all day!! unheard of in my previous experiences. Only one comment would be better signage from Silverstone entrance to BAT trackday as was first time.
Superb. Everything was well organised, great people, very safely run. No complaints at all!
I booked this open pit lane track session to test my car before going to the Nurburgring in September. I was worried that three hours would not be enough but I was wrong plenty of time on track and a well organised and briefed session meant the track stayed open for most of the session and and incidents were dealt with quickly to get the track open again. I had a great time and Donnington is a brilliant circuit with great facilities. I will definitely be going to Donnington again and will definitely book a session with Book a Track again.
We were a group of eight newcomers. We were looked after tremendously and came away knowing a whole lot more. We'll be back even more eager next time.
Well run by there team just wish it was a little more affordable so I could go more.
Jonny, Sarah and the team are brilliant. Real enthusiasts, and probably the best track-day organisers in the world. Their fleet of Caterhams is superbly maintained and runs faultlessly throughout, offering more thrills per pound than anywhere else. Can't wait for the next event!
Did a three hour evening session at Donington, had an hour of dry running before the heavens opened. Very well organised, staff helpful and friendly, all rules made clear at briefing. The only slight negative is that full-on race cars were mixed in with slow road cars; the speed differential from fastest to slowest car was quick big.
For me it was the first time with BaT. It's really good organized, frendly and very helpful staff. I'm sure, this was not my last trackday with BaT! The briefing was made very good and clear. The only small critique: For me is the rule, only overtake on the left side, too strict, especially when the slower car do not let space on the left side. The rest of the rules are very helpful and meaningful for a safe and nice trackday!
