Donington Park Circuit, DE74 2BN, Castle Donington, GB
The enthusiastic staff manage to combine fun, safety and good organisation to give an excellent day whether driving your own car or one of their Caterham's - and they are brilliant. There have to be rules but they are mostly common sense and sensibly enforced to give maximum track time and enjoyment for everyone. Emphasis is always on enjoyment and safety. The cost is fair and I have always found the number of cars on track to be easily managable. The only gripe I have ever had is people using the day as a test for an upcoming race but I don't know how this could be policed better than it is.
The thing about a track day is that it is meant to be fun. This is a cross between pushing yourself and the car but remaining within boundaries that do not then spoil it for everyone else. Jonny and his team are able to deliver this well. The briefing is explicitly clear on how the day is being run and the do's and dont's when on track (and off it.) Always enjoyable and one of the best companies to experience a track day with. Stuart Shepherd
I have used BookaTrack many times over the past 8 years and they have always provided a truly excellent service and ensured that everyone had a great track day with a maximum possible time on the track. The BaT team are very friendly and welcoming and I can say that you soon regard Jonny and Sarah as friends rather than suppliers. They don't put up with lunatics and apply strict but very sensible rules to ensure there is no dangerous driving. This results in fast but very safe track days where different levels of drivers and various types of cars are welcome and where all go home with huge smiles on their faces. It is very clear that this business is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts and you can't ask for more than that!
I have been to Bookatrak events countless times and have always found the format and experience the best compared with other track day companies. Johnny's zero tolerence to idiots helps to make the day a much safer and ageeable day all round
Hiring a BookaTrack Caterham is much better value than buying and running your own car. The trackdays are friendly with a good bunch of regulars, always run efficiently and accessible for novices. If it wasn't for grumpy Jonny it would be the perfect experience ;)
Well run trackclub, no hastle from anybody, just left to enjoy the day.
Well organised days, management team are very laid back and very fair. Everyone that seems to attend BAT days also seem to be sensible. I can't think of anything I would want done differently. More days maybe?
Would prefer a wider variety of track choice, apart from that I can’t complain overall. Well run, there for the track enthusiast like me in the area segment for me. Rock on!
Slick organisation, i have used their trackdays in uk a abroad Always 100% spot on, more tracktime than others, due to bookatracks efficiency and good relationship with the circuit owners
Following on from your question should I use Bookatrack? I have now enjoyed in excess of 50 days with them so feel able to comment. If you are looking for bargain basement goods, move on. However if it is your intention to seek the best possible track day starting with the a 'no nonsense' briefing aimed at protecting you, your passenger and your car through to a friendly pit lane with like minded persons, then click 'book now'. Look forward to seeing you there.
always runs quite well and organised
Been on a many bookatrack days since they first started out and while the staff are always friendly and helpful I feel their trackdays are now just being used by race cars as test days. The last 4 days I 've been on have been swamped by race cars and this totally takes the shine on what essentially started out as joe public being able to take there standish road car out on track in relative safetly with similiar cars and at a similar pace.I've got no problem with dedicated track toys but just wish racers would stick to test days!
A gwell organised company - Jonny's track briefing is exactly what's required, no nonsense puts everyoen in thier place, sets the rules which then enables everyone to get the best out of the trackday. Bokatrack are a pleasure to deal with and of all the trackday companies we have dealt with, they are the best. The track hire cars are second to none and the instructors superb. Nothing else to say apart form I wish we could get a day att he Nurburgring again. I would recommned Bookatrack to any Petrolhead.
I did my first BaT day in 2007 and was impressed from the word go. The only criticism I ever hear is that BaT are expensive. I would argue that you get what you pay for. Their days are never over-subscribed which means you spend your valuable time on track, not waiting in the pitlane. Driving standards stay high (and hence your car in one piece) because discourteous or unsafe driving is not tolerated. I would not hesitate to recommend BaT.
Jonny, Sarah and the team run a very professional outfit, wether you bring your own car, or use one of the BAT Caterhams. The drivers briefings are both informative and amusing, but Jonny gets his point across in no uncertain terms. For a car club group booking, Jonny will normally cut you a good deal, which is why Skyline Owners Club use BAT as their preferred track day company. You might pay a little more with BAT, but their no queues or your money back policy means that the tracks are not over crowded and you can get maximum track time for your money. Well done guys and I wish you every success for the future!
Jonny always runs a decent trackday with a clientele that seem to understand that it's worth spending a few pounds more to get the right venues and the right people turning up. Donington a few days ago was predominantly booked by pre-season racers but everyone was pretty sensible and a good day was had. It's nice that a bit of hospitality is there with the teas and coffees - especially the price Donington Cafe charges these days. No hesitation in recommending - and I attend a lot of these days when instructing.
Done lots of track days with BAT and other companies and the whole experience with BAT is the smoothest and most pragmatic. Now that they provide tea and coffee - can't find any improvement areas on the day. From an overall calendar point of view I wonder if there is scope to tailor a few more days that are on the circuit of the Caterham championship rounds within the 2 weeks before the round and market these dates with the club.
Fantastic service
Always a great and friendly service with a smile.
When you take your pride and joy out on track you want to be confident in those around you and the company organising it. Jonny and Sarah have been in this business for a long time - I did my first trackday with them almost 10 years ago - and it shows. The calendar has a great variety and includes all the top venues, the website is superb and makes organising your trackday a breeze. I only ever go on trackdays that are open pit lane, and that's what BaT do so well, you know you'll be able to get on the circuit as often as you like for as long as you like without all the queueing. Despite being very personable Jonny takes no nonsense and over the years this has resulted in a loyal clientele of discerning and courteous drivers that I'm happy to share a circuit with. Book with confidence, the team at BookaTrack always deliver.
