As I had a touchbistro epos, I did help my friend to set this up for his new business. As they had a problem with sending payment link t pay for the equipment, I uses my private credit card to speed up the process, payment was over the phone with sale rep. This was one off payment. After around 9 months, I found out a hefty charge from touch bistro on that card. When I contacted them, they could not explain what is that. I reminded that I may used this card in the very past to help with setting up a new system. They confirmed, that they had problems with payments with that Ltd company, so they charged my card!! So the money has been stolen of my card without my knowledge. What's more, I have never gave consent to store my card details by them, or authorised any other payment. The CS rep says that as I made a payment in the past, I automatically authorised them to do any payments from my cad!! Sound like a bad joke, but truth.. I have been told that if I want to get my money back, I should recover that myself from third party Ltd, that they had a payment problem with. No notice, no information whatsoever!! No chance for me to remove my details from thier system, as I wasn't even knew they keep it! This is a theft. Had to close my credit card so they can not use it again. Open dispute with card issuer. With current Covid situation, I probably had to wait ages for my money back. Customer service that or you can not reach, even waiting hours on the phone, or just waiting to steal your money! Need to seek legal advice now. If you already deal with them, protect your bank details, as they are cowboys who provide no customer service , and are stealing innocent people money! Looking for a different Epos provider now, there are many cheaper and better systems on the market, with a good UK customer service, not located in US and within their local time So you have been warned
We installed touchbistro in Nov. 2019. As others have noted...from the begining we noticed that after you sign on the dotted line communication changes. Our assigned person kept trying to pass us off to the regular technical support instead of being of assistance as our set up technician. So as others have stated, support is dismal once you sign on. Generally speaking you have to wait a minimum of 20 minutes just to get someone on the phone and then good luck getting a resolution. They also have a "partnership" with Chase so it's the only merchant services company that completely integrates with all ther payment platforms, including online ordering. If, by chance, want to use a different processor to get a better rate, you have 3 other options... Square, Tsys, and Worldpay. They all have a gateway but they will steer you towards Chase because again, "partnership" and it's the only one that completely integrates. We tried to use our local bank and even though they could find a gateway (they use tsys) they made it impossible to be able to use them... stating that if we did use our local bank we'd have to pay double the fees to Tsys since they would be the ones providing the gateway to our local bank. If you don't buy their router, it won't work, at least not for long. And when you have connectivity issues and you will....you will not get any technical support becasue... it's not their router. Buyer beware. We are doing some research now and looking to change. At $325 to be able to have online ordering and gift cards it's just not worth it... we are also finding that their fees are much higher than others.
have used touchbistro for years. perpetual fan and recommend to anyone looking to add a new or upgrade an existing pos. incredibly agile, customizable, user friendly and adaptable. won't be switching anytime soon.
My pos installation process with Touch Bistro was mostly positive. We ran into a few communication issues along the way but everything turned out positive. Warren my install consultant was very patient and knowledgeable although it seemed he was overwhelmed with his workload (response time could have been faster.
Great POS system & the setting up service experience is really good. Online videos are very helpful. Very easy to use and train new staff.
Had a wonderful experience getting started with TouchBistro. The customer service team went above and beyond to make sure we were up and running in time for our store opening. The system is user friendly and customizable I would highly recommend it.
This is probably on my end of things but it's been challenging to get TB to upload sales information to Quick Books.
They have so many issues. The POS disconnects a couple of times a day. Credit card bills would just disappear mysteriously. I think it's a half-backed product, they just rolled it out their product without testing it through Just wasted lots of money and time. Switching to Micros or Clover.
STAY AWAY They will say EVERYTHING (by phone of course) to get you in. After you sign the contract they will not give a sh** to you. They said I could use my Izettle printer and card machine with their system. They made us buy a WIFI Amplifier for more than £200 and told us the Izettle printer and card machine will not be compatible. So.. we will have to invest in all new POS to make it work. UK Jack tried to help us installing the system. Oliver did not solve anything and kept asking to speak JUST BY PHONE. When I said no, that I will just have a conversation by email - proofs, he decided to give away the case. We are giving the case to our solicitor company to deal with this scam.
This could be the worst pos I’ve ever had. I’ve been in this business over 20 years and never seen such bad service in my life. You’re better off with a cash register and server checkout slips than this crap. In the middle of a rush the orders just disappear and even worst when you checkout a guest after taking a payment their order might disappear not even knowing if you received your credit card payment. Owners run far away from this before you put yourselves in a bad situation
They provide us great services. The only problem is due to COVID, they only provide service over phone and they don’t send a technician to set up the system
Very easy to use software, helpful contacts when setting up!
Our touchbistro system seems to be working as promised, but not without issues. For some reason we were told we were required to use a Chase credit card terminal and we were currently using Moneris. We signed up with Chase, only to learn we could have stayed with Moneris. This caused a months delay in setting up, we had to cancel and return the Chase machine, which was very difficult to arrange, and wait for a new Moneris.
We have been a UK customer of Touchbistro for 18 months. The product itself is very good, and I would love to keep using it in my business, but it looks like I'm going to have to switch to a different ipad pos company at the end of our current year's contract. They are highly focused on Canada and the US, and their support function reflects this. We have no account manager to speak to about issues, and the service we receive from their Customer Care is very poor, and we go weeks without hearing anything back. Over 6 months ago they persuaded us to switch to Barclaycard as they have a UK partnership and said they had perfected the integration of the Barclaycard payment terminals. But we (and my customers) have had a very bad experience with the system. It is probably due to the Verifone terminals, which are not Barclaycard's terminals but rather are something Touchbistro have used in the US. We are frequently unable to take card payments, and as we are a cashless business this has been a big problem. Touchbistro don't care. They aren't bothering to try to resolve this now. The contact we were trying to liaise with has now left Touchbistro, and his replacement has not replied to my emails. We are now stuck with a system that isn't working properly, and a supplier that is not delivering what I am paying them for. Such a shame that a great product is being mangled by bad management in the UK.
I highly suggest TouchBistro for anyone that is looking for an easy and simple POS system. The team has been so friendly and helpful during the set up...any questions I had, they would answer them right away and always made sure I understood everything.
Service was fast, effeciate and straight forward.
Beware!!! Bait and switch customer service company. They act like you will be receiving all this amazing customer service! However, once they get the deal you feel like you’re working with children that don’t comprehend business in a timely manner! I wish I had never gone with this company and can’t wait to switch!!!
We have wasted hundreds of hours of company resource on this terrible system. The hardware was delivered months before we needed it (Jan 2020 - we were due to open March 2020) and TB proceeded to charge us despite us reminding them it was their fault. Charged us through lockdown despite the fact we never opened. The services that were all sold as part of the package such as uploading menu and ingredients didnt happen. On site training didnt happen ("due to covid") so we had to train our team on something we knew nothing about. Call backs take days if they happen at all. Loyalty system is expensive and timely. Now set up our system still doesnt work properly, the cloud fails to update. Being London based its impossible to get hold of anyone as the team are on Canadian time. TB are refusing to allow us an "out" of the contract despite choosing to start our contract early and treat a brand new hospitality business apaulingly. I have resorted to contacting board members on Linkedin for some resolution. My GM and accounts manager have been contacting TB every day to no available. If they cant offer the service they sold - covid or not - they shouldn't be charging us. We have lost financial data recently where systems aren't syncing. Lets hope there is a response to this!!!!
Tech reps are very knowledgeable and friendly. Issues were resolved very quickly
Please do yourself a favor and save money by NOT GETTING TOUCH BISTRO! We paid thousands for the hardware because we were promised easy set up and paid MONTHS of services without any help or communication from our rep. They even threatened us to send us to collection despite us having moved our service from touch bistro to Square and haven’t used a single day of service from touch bistro. We did not get touch bistro set up for months, and the hardware was just sitting in our basement as we waited for responses and calls for help. They were not helpful at all in setting up and did not respond to our numerous emails and calls but were so quick to take our money! It’s a scam!! We decided to use our hardware from touchbistro to SQUARE instead. Any other POS integration would be better (Square, Clover, etc).
