I have had insurance with Tinhat for over a year, which has always been affordable and very easy to claim on, and recently had a very positive experience changing the device on my policy. The customer service rep I spoke to was very polite and professional, and was hugely understanding and patient of my general tech-based confusion. It took less than 5 minutes and to top it all, my premium barely increased in price! Very pleased overall with Tinhat!

My iPhone screen stopped responding properly, so I contacted tinhat. I did find communication from them quite unclear - they didn’t explain what the steps in the process were, they just asked me to remove my Apple ID and apparently couldn’t do anything until I’d done that. A simple summary of what happens next would have been very reassuring. That said, I posted my phone on Thursday afternoon, and had it back with me, fixed, by Saturday morning. I was very impressed by the speed and it seems to be working perfectly.

Hassle free company. I Made a claim last year and it has gone through straight away once i provided all the paperwork,which was understandable. I needed to switch my old phone to my new one and Muhammad khan did it so quickly. It was literally the quickest change i have ever done and also the premium stayed same as well. He was very friendly and helpful.

I rarely give feedback however I feel this is a must. My phone needed repair so I attempted to make a claim. What a farce. I had to send lots of information and had to call them back multiple times. Eventually got through to pay my excess and sent the phone away with special delivery as requested. This was almost 2 weeks ago. No correspondence about the whereabouts of my device and no clue when I will get it back. When I called the operator has been less than helpful and uninterested. Then received an email tonight confirming my claim (again). They don’t seem to have a clue, disorganised and inconvenient service. I am not hopeful that I Will receive my phone or a replacement any time soon. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME on this terribly run company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Sent off for my iPhone11 Pro fixing - only had a small crack on the front and back - they then got back in touch with me to say it’s deemed unrepairable so I question this as it’s almost a brand new phone other than the small cracks to then be advised it’s because it will cost too much to be repaired so I will have to take a replacement phone - in which I then questioned into the replacement phone to be advised it’s SECOND HAND, may have SCRATCHES on it, also may not be the SAME COLOUR as my rose gold one and may also be different GB!! How can they possibly do that? Knew it was dodgy so I requested for my phone to be sent back so I wrote a public social media post in regards to what has happened to then find out of a few others the same has happened to them and they have had to go to the ombudsman in which I will now be doing as soon as YOU have sent me all the evidence through - going to claim my monthly payments back - the cost of postage and also my excess that I paid!! And I will await for my phone to now be returned back 2 weeks later!! STAY AWAY PEOPLE!!!

I needed to change my address on my policy. This was achieved very easily with one email and Avtar responded very quickly and politely

So I have been with this insurance company coming up to 2 years. I have recently changed my phone and Avtar was so helpful on setting me up with my new insurance policy for my phone. He was very fast and very efficient when it came to my case. I highly recommend them

Put a claim in on Tuesday claim accepted on Thursday, I sent phone off Friday. I have just received it back today that is an exceptional turn around, can not complain about the service I received thank you tinhat

The process is a bit slow, had to chase them on the phone to follow up on the claim, as they do would not respond to emails or call when there is development in the process. Once I sent out my device I received a replacement in less than a week

very very slow process and very limited contact. I opened a claim over a month ago as I have lost my phone. I have done everything the have asked. eg get crime number, report it to this site they sent me link for, gave them proof of ownership, had the phone blacklisted by my network provider. and still I have no replacement phone. they do always take the monthly payment on time tho. if my claim progresses I will let you know and review this post.RIGHT HERES IS A UPDATE ON MY REVIEW. I HAVE RECEIVED MY REPLACEMENT SAMSUNG S20 PLUS BUT I NOTICED IT WAS NOT 5G AND THE REAR COVER WAS PLASTIC NOT GLASS. SO I CONTACTED SAMSUNG AND THEY ASKED FOR THE SERIEL OF THE PHONE. THEY HAVE JUST INFORMED ME THE PHONE IS A SAMSUNG SD865 (CHINA COPY) THEY SAID THE PHONE WAS NEVER RELEASED OR IS NEVER INTENDED TO BE RELEASED IN THE UK AND THAT SAMSUNG WILL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE ANY WARRANTY AT ALL WITH THIS HANDSET. THEY HAVE ADVISED ME TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE AND LET THEM KNOW THAT I AM SENDING IT THEM BACK AND TO REQUEST FOR THE UK VARIANT TO BE SENT TO REPLACE THE CHINA ONE. I HAVE CONTACTED TINHAT OR MOBILE CLAIMS ?. I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED AS TO WHAT HAPPENS.

Would not recommend. Started paying my insurance. Broke my phone and claimed after 4 months of being a customer. Because I couldn't prove I used the phone from the day I claimed, they refused a claim. They also continued to take payments from my bank knowing full well that I had a claim ongoing, as the phone was reported as broken they shouldn't have continued to take payment. Why would I be paying insurance 4 months after telling them the device was broke. Currently opened up an investigation to see if the decision can be over turnt, told me they would contact me the next day, it has been a week already with no response. Complete waste of money and time. I paid legitimately for insurance and damaged my phone, in which they simply refused to pay out. Make sure you read threw your terms and conditions very closely.

I’ve been with tin hat for just under 2 years, never claimed. I rang tin-hat customer service 3 weeks ago about my iPhone 8. It took 2 weeks for them to send me a email saying my claim had been accepted. That’s 2 weeks without a phone . They said they would be In touch with how I send my phone to be repaired. I’ve hared nothing since . They are very cheap per month and it’s very easy to set up an account. But claiming is a shambles. Today’s date is 11/10/2020 . Still no email. I’ve wasted £200 on this useless company. Total waste of time .

I received an email regarding automatic renewal of my annual policy which I decided to cancel as I had cover elsewhere. I replied to ask them to cancel it and 5 minutes later had received a reply saying they had actioned my request. Great customer service!
