Have been a customer at the Dover Groom Room for years but they were closed after their groomers all quit (go figure!) so I booked into Folkestone instead, where I'd been once before. My two cockapoos were given the WORST haircuts of their lives - one of them done by the so-called manager, who should have known better - he was shaved everywhere except for a plume left on his tail. He looked absolutely shocking! My other cockapoo was scarcely any better. I was so shocked! And then to add insult to injury they charged an extra tenner per dog for 'blunting their equipment' because 'they were matted'. I've been trying to complain to the management ever since but it's impossible to find contact details. Absolutely dreadful experience in every level. Avoid!!

I recently took my dog to the Bridlington branch. On collection, I didn't notice he still had dirt on his chest because the staff put his coat back on. He had only been half an hour which I did think was probably a little quick for a full groom and nail clip but I had every faith in my dog being groomed properly by a reputable company. My dog didn't smell fresh when I removed his coat, and he wasn't clean on his chest. I complained via email. The reply I got was not satisfactory. I was told that because I booked at short notice, only half hour would have been allocated yet when I booked it stated allow up to 2 hours for the groom. I have 3 chihuahuas which have been getting groomed for over 10 years and I have never complained before. I am disgusted that I have basically been told its tough that I am not happy with the service. My husband took my other two dogs to pets and friends for the same treatment the day after and they came back smelling and looking fresh for a fraction of the price. I paid £32 for a poor job, which I could have done at home for pennies. I am a loyal customer of pets at home and spend hundreds of pounds every year on my 5 pets but since I have been treated this way I will never set foot in pets at home again.i should have seen the red flag tbh when I saw the sandwich board outside the salon justifying actions from what look like complaints from other disgruntled customers.

After a year of coming here and growing increasingly frustrated by moaning and winging, we are not coming back, you have lost £150 every 6 weeks, for the next 12 years totalling around £18,000 turnover from our single family. I am very disappointed that you keep acting like our 2 dogs are an inconvenience, calling them aggressive or badly behaved and constantly complaining about them. Neither of our dogs have never ever bitten anyone, adult, child or animal, both are exceptionally well socialised, nothing beyond excited kisses. Todays groom was a disaster, our border collie is not even clean, she still has mud in her fur. Your staff need retraining and most importantly to learn some people skills too. We have almost a million unfilled job vacancies in the UK at this time, if you dont love your work and love the dogs, do something else, and stop costing this business money

The groom itself and the ladies have always been great although very pricey, but customer service online is a disaster.

My doggies went to the groomers at Pets at Home for years but not any more . They have no ethics they stop doing dogs for no reason just when they feel like it You have to have trust in your groomer. I would not reccomend the groomers at Pets at Home they let you down pretend to love your dogs and couldn't care less . My doggies had the same groomers for 9 years when she's ill which has been months at a time Pets at Home groomers just say they say the groomer is ill She's the only one who can groom poodles . This has happened months at a time there isn't any trust any more . I wouldn't take my dogs there any more . I've found a new groomers who really care for my dogs .

I booked my dog in for a nail trim for today 19/2 in st helens i told the girl on reception that he was anxious about having them done, i was stood outside waiting for him, only to hear him screaming when i went in they didnt have him in the correct equipment they was holding him in there arms like giving him a bear hug, when i went in to see what was going on i noticed that they had cut him and that there was blood on the floor and over the girls arms, they didnt apologies for doing it and they blamed him for moving about to much and thats why the had caught him this would not have happened if they had him in the correct equipment. on the way home the dog was sick all over the car and was shaking incontrollable, i phoned the groomers up and basically said that it was the dogs fault after charging me full price for the nail cut, i will definitely not be going back !!

Great Yarmouth. If you adore your beautiful fur baby, then don’t take them there. Hack and slashers who refuse to take responsibility for the mess they leave your dog in.

Visited the Great Yarmouth branch and gave very specific instructions to the groomer. However, my poor Yorkie looks like a child of 3 has ravaged her head and face with a knife and fork. She looks like she has been scalped. The cut is completely uneven. I did not pay and the groomer could not appreciate my anger, disappointment and sadness that she has made a beautiful Yorkie look so forlorn due to her lack of skill or knowledge of a Yorkie breed style. I have had my dog groomed by them before and it was fine. On another occasion my dog had a bad ear infection after the groom which I put down to bad luck. I was also shocked that the response from the same manager was that I should be grateful that she was “unhurt and ok”. Should I really be grateful, I think not. Not sure what basic training they have but they don’t seem to take pride or care in their work. They also don’t take responsibility for their work but become defensive blaming one another for communication difficulties as the person booking in my dog was clearly unable to convey my very clear verbal instructions which she did not translate into written instructions for the groomer. Will not be using again!!

I've thought really hard about writing this review, do I or don't I. Ok so I took my little shih zhu to be clipped at stratton groom room pets at home about 3 weeks ago. This was his 2nd trip there, 1st time he looked good we were happy but he had no nice smell from bathing like he always had from his previous groomer who unfortunately moved to Scotland. I'm not so sure he was bathed,Anyway he was clipped or should I say hacked at! I didn't pick him up my husband did wen he came home again no bath smell his face didn't look very good and as his fur has started to regrow it looks like it was hacked at so uneven plus they don't make a fuss of him wen they take him from us or wen they give him back ,I won't be going back with him The date I put is a rough date as I can't remember exactly.

Had used The Groom Room once before, had absolutely no problems, we picked our puppy up and he seemed so happy. So we booked our 4 month puppy in for his second puppy groom. After 50 minutes was rang and told they’d been unable to complete his puppy groom because he wasn’t cooperating with them. He’s a 4 month old puppy who was booked in for a puppy groom, of course he’s going to be a bit giddy it’s all new experiences and learning for him. The shop was due to close at 5pm he was the last appointment of the day so in my opinion I felt like they couldn’t be bothered with him. We were made to feel like we’d done something terribly wrong by the staff there. We were also told not to go back again.. And the best of all they still charged us for the puppy groom even though all they did was wash him! Our poor puppy was shaking when we collected him and could see how distressed he was! Terrible service. This was at the Wakefield branch.

We have used the Groom room in Salford for Many years and the be fair without a problem, our dog is not as mobile and her nails get long quickly, we have been told on many occasions that nail clipping is a walk in service and it even states on the voice message no appointment is needed, today was the 3 rd time we have walked in to be declined AGAIN, in my opinion nail clipping is not a walk in service and shouldn’t be stated as such. Additionally the prices have gone extremely expensive, and I have sourced an alternative groomer

I have been taking my Jack russell to scunthorpe groom room for three years to have its claws cut roughly about once a month. The girl that holds the dog is really good with the dog and he trusts her. The charge was £10. On my last appointment I was informed the price would be going up to £20 because it takes two people to do the job one to hold the dog one to clip.I can't believe the price increase it only takes a few minutes to do.I will not be using there services again.

Paid nearly £65 for my working cocker to have a groom. His tail hasn’t been touched, his groin is twice as long as the rest of him and his back and shoulders are a mix of short with fluffy patches. Definitely not worth the money!

Customer service non existent. Been using groom room for last 3 years, but over the last few months the service has been one of the worst I have ever experienced. 1st Appointment said, when turned up. They had double booked and couldn’t fit us in. 2nd appointment they were over running and would not be able to do it. 3rd time stated even though we have it on a appointment card they wrote that it wasn’t booked in. Absolutely shocking service from groom from horwich in Bolton, new staff don’t really care and will certainly be moving my business elsewhere.

Asked for dogs paws to be done and in between the pads. It’s seems they are not capable of doing that. Didn’t want anything special done just a straight shave. I found the ears not done properly and on a spaniel that’s important lots of long hair left and even a mat still there.

The manager Libby at Wokingham has a bad attitude and very rude, doesn’t care about the welfare of your dog, she gives the place a bad name as Shona is brilliant and lovely, she works so hard but loses customers because of the manager. I won’t be returning.

Been a customer for 5 years and the staffing situation seems to be getting really bad. Made my booking in November for a January groom in Eastleigh which got cancelled as the groomer left. Then booked an appointment in Hedge End for Feb 8th that got cancelled on the day as the groomer was sick. I've been told I'm in the back of the queue now with appointments available in March. Again, I had an appointment booked in November 2024 and on February 9th I now am unable to get a booking until March through no fault of my own! Terrible service and a massive decline. I feel sorry for the staff as they have all been lovely over the years
