The Chesterfield Company is a UK manufacturer of quality real leather chesterfield sofas and wing chairs. All furniture is hand made to order in our Manchester workshop and delivery lead times are between 4 and 8 weeks from order.
Firstly, the quality of the sofa and the price are great. Really good value. However, the service in-between ordering and getting delivery was awful. They stated 8-9 weeks delivery. When I called them, once a week up to 13 weeks they kept telling me there were no problems, and I would get a call from the courier imminently. I never got a return call or email from them when chasing up. I had to keep on calling them. Eventually I was told it was no longer with them, but with the courier. I called the courier to be told they weren't collecting for 3 more days. On this farce went. Again, the sofa is amazing, but as long as you can put up with the waiting and lack of communication.
Great sofa set - very good value for money. I would rate 5/5 but the delivery guys could have been more careful and the quality of the sofas (although good) is not completely perfect (the cushions on the large sofa are not all exactly the same depth). Overall I am delighted with the purchase and the customer service has been above average.

When my chairs arrived I was presently surprised on how beautiful they were , the young guys who delivered them were very helpful and polite, I hope we have many years to enjoy our chairs .
The time for the sofa to be delivered was unacceptable, taking over 18 weeks, and the customer service was poor! I was originally told that it would take 9 weeks for the sofa to be delivered, it actually took twice as long at 18 weeks. From around 9 weeks in, I had to call every week asking for an update. The company never reached out to me. I always had to chase them up. Every week I was told that it would be ready the week after. The customer service team would rarely apologise for the delay and simply pass on the message from their 'factory line'. The majority of the time, there was no reason given for the continuous delay. It was very frustrating to be told week after week that the sofa was just 1 week away only for it not to be. About 14 weeks in I called and was told that there was a problem and that they had actually built a different sofa for me. They asked me if I would like the sofa that they had made by mistake because if I didn't want it, it would take longer for them to make the one that I had asked for. Amazingly, someone in customer service thought that this was a good idea. No discount was offered. I said that I didn't want a different sofa but the one that I had ordered. Throughout the whole experience, the only recompense that I was given was free delivery. Even then, I had to ask for it, it was never offered. While the quality of the sofa is great but I have to give 1 star to highlight to customers that this was an appalling experience and that you can get the same quality of product elsewhere without the hassle of dealing with this company.
We bought a wing chair and footstool, they are just perfect and elegant. The wing chair and footstool gave our sitting room a fancy and classy look with an amber wood feeling. This wing chair is just a master piece! When I sit on the chair, the leather becomes one with me, so it is so comfy and relaxing. The footstool is very cushiony and gives just right hardness for my tired legs. What a treat for my precious legs! We love it! But the package was slightly bigger for our front door so the delivery team just left the furniture at kerbside. We took off all the packaging and fortunately then we managed to bring it into our house by ourselves.
We are very happy with the service everything went great from the order to the delivery.we would recommend to our friends and family.we ordered the Henley Chair 2&3 Seater Sofas in premium aniline leather in Ruby it looks better than we thought it would be it’s a great colour of leather. A piece of classic furniture built to order. Excellent quality leather chesterfield style with a modern emphasis delivered as promised within the hour notified. The communications throughout by phone. I can't think of any reason to give fewer than 5 stars.
I was expecting delivery of sofa and got an e-mail to say they can't find it. It could have been sold to someone else. I tried to contact them to discuss 3 times, sent 3 e-mails and requested a call back. Still waiting for that phone call. Customer service hopeless, sales ok til they get your money and then wash their hands. Unable to arrange refund or alternative product. Please note that I didn't call when they were closed. Why would I? Still having problems and considering legal advice now I sent a formal complaint by email and recorded delivery which has been ignored and they want to charge me more for them not sticking to arrangments
Disappointed. I bought 2 x 3.5 seater sofas (St David's range in Brooklyn Oak) the leather is hard and quite unyielding (I've had the sofas for about 2 months now). The cushions don't stay in place and there's no velcro or any fastening to keep them in situ. I expect some natural variations in the leather, but there are a lot of obvious wide scratches which have been dyed (so clearly not done in transit or with use) 'pock' marks and blemishes. The sofas aren't comfortable and certainly not luxurious to sit on, they may be stylish but I'm rather underwhelmed. I even made a point of going to the showroom and looking at the leathers and trying the sofas before I bought, but I don't feel I got what I saw there. The delivery team were great and the turn around from order to delivery was good. But I won't be buying from here again, in fact I'm seriously thinking of selling them on and buying elsewhere. An expensive mistake....
I paid £540 for the Hudson tub chair. When the chair eventually arrived, I was disappointed with the quality, colour and finish which looked shabby and cheap and in my opinion certainly didn't reflect the price tag. I paid extra for the premium aniline leather chair expecting a top quality leather. I didn't feel that the leather I received in any way reflected the price although I am no leather expert. However it certainly doesn't compare favourably with my other leather sofas and shortly after the purchase it is already losing it's colour. Additionally there is a really unpleasant strong chemical smell from the couch ever since I received it. The colour is awful and looked completely different from their colour chart. If I was given this chair for free, I would refuse it.
I am delighted with the chairs we ordered, the quality is excellent. Communication was very good, giving relevant information at all stages of the order. The chair was well packed for delivery. Highly recommended.
Unfortunately had to reschedule delivery because of the weather but under the circs that was fine. Kept us informed all the way. Chair seems to be excellent quality. Have no reservations at all about the company or it's product.

I purchased a leather Queen Anne chair from The ChesterField Company in September 2014. I was impressed with the quality of the workmanship, style and the quality of the chair. It was also one of the most comfortable chairs to sit in and many friends and family have commented on how much they liked the chair. In January 2018 I decided to purchase another identical chair. I was concerned if the colour and quality of the leather, the stud work and the legs would indeed be the same. I spoke with The Chesterfield Company who still had on record my original purchase and they said they would be able to match it. I proceeded with my order and have not been disappointed. The new chair is an excellent match in every way. Fantastic service from The Chestefield Company.

Great products and first class delivery service. The delivery of the chairs and stool was arranged before the date I expected and the two man delivery service were extremely efficient, unpacking and inspecting the products very thoroughly and ensuring I was completely satisfied with them. The only reason to not award excellent is that the leather care kit for which I had paid was not delivered with the chairs and I was not informed that this would be delivered seperately!
Two man delivery to a first floor room of your choice turns out to be two man delivery to the ground floor porch of your choice. Having paid for a professional delivery into the room you expect that to be what you get, the delivery team barely made an attempt and gave up leach the sofa in the garage instead. Having had to request a favour from a friend it was perfectly possible to get it into the flat. After contacting customer service I was fobbed of with an email and my response was ignored for a fortnight until I phoned up to chase and got passed onto the delivery company who also don't care. No refund on the delivery was offered despite not completing the delivery. The sofa is lovely and great quality but the delivery and customer service are beyond appalling.
The sofa was a thing of beauty and craftsmanship.Solid and built to last. It took less time than we thought and the delivery was faultless. The only thing that i found lacking and surprising was the fact that no paperwork or after care product was left with us. I expected some sort of guide on how to care for our new sofa especially a chesterfield.
