I've used the Safestore site on Elstow Road just outside Bedford both as a private individual for storage matters and as a senior Director in two local businesses for storage matters and shipping drop-off point. Staff are helpful and professional and the storage facility is clean, well-lit and accessible. For anyone looking for efficient transactions and a secure, well-managed operation in the Bedford area I would strongly recommend this site and the management team.

Overall, I had a good experience of Safestore. My belongings were in there about 18 months and nothing was damaged or damp or affected in any way when I got them out, which was good. There was a bit of a hitch at the end regarding the number of days' refund I should get on the last invoice but Danny Carlyon at the head office sorted it out very promptly, so thanks to him.

In a nutshell: DO NOT get an online quote from this company - unless you're okay with being spammed every day with calls and emails! It's genuinely on harassment levels at this point. -- I only got a quote to compare prices and weigh options. I did not choose this company in the end and gave no further indication I would be pursuing them for my needs. In an attempt to be constructive, my advice to Safestore would be to either leave things there, or send the max of ONE follow up; because further contact as you have done MULTIPLE times isn't (as I perceive) 'good customer service' - rather it's wasting time, as well as being plain irritating and straight up an annoyance. Harassing through contacts given just to get a quote has driven me away permanently - I don't need the headache when I'm moving home in future and need to store things temporarily, whilst work is getting done. I have already made use of another company - and even now, I am still getting (now junk) emails because Safestore won't quit bothering me. I've also had to block their number for the same reason - but they still keep leaving voicemails. This is a problem because if I'm going through my voicemail for people I DO want to hear from, Safestore is cluttering up half of it. It's absolutely unnecessary!

The team at Safestore Harlow have always been so friendly and helpful, their customer service is excellent. I've rented a storage unit for over a year, I would definitely choose them again in future and recommend to family and friends.

I tried to book a storage room online but struggled to understand the online costs against the quote I received. I called the freephone number and spoke at length to Junior who explained the costs gave me a better quote and walked me through all the contract details
