I have been using these phones for over a year. They are a great platform to teach kids boundaries. I had a major issue with my phone and they weren’t able to fix it, so they provided me with a new phone. They have the best trouble shooting and customer service. Best phone to get before handing them the real deal. Highly recommend.

While there are some things about pinwheel that work well. It fails where it matters most, software. The very reason pinwheel exists is around the concept that we are no longer living in a world where phones are just used for voice or text, but are mobile computing systems with direct access to the Internet and the endless sea of applications. As a parent, easing your child into this is crucial. No child is the same, so the platform must be flexible to support children of different levels of maturity. Developing good habits is crucial, and a parent needs a framework to provide that, without them having the need to be a software developer. I thought pinwheel would fill this gap, but it left me disappointed. In essence I became the child and middle-man, that had to ask the unreasonable parent (pinwheel in this case) for access to software I thought appropriate for my child. I was shut down by the process with little to no explanation or transparency. Nothing I could convey to my own child as to why he couldn't have an app I as a parent deemed appropriate. The only vague explanation given (if any) was that of compromising their operating system, which in my opinion is not enough. Imagine of Linux, IOS, Android and Windows ran their operating systems this way? The claim that the phone can grow with a child is also false. There is no way to introduce a teenage child to monitored Internet, or monitored social media. The limitations of the platform essentially make it useless to find a good balance for a teenage child. It is not all bad, you can use the GPS to locate your child, you can approve contacts, and do other small things. But these problems have already been solved by other solutions that are even native to operating systems like Android, so it's more of the same, but under the guise that it can do more. The reality is that what it can do is severely limited, and not worth the investment. Parents are stripped of their ability to parent within reason and respect to their own child situation, and must succumb to what Pinwheel deems appropriate software wise. Because of this I would not recommend Pinwheel.

This phone has been so confusing. My daughter can hardly ever place or receive calls because we never have service. Then I find out that the phone that we purchased does not support wifi call and text??? What is the point of it?? So since I did not buy the most expensive phone offered for my adolescent, if anything were to ever happen and she needs to contact me immediately she can't unless she has service?? What is the point of this again?? I am so disappointed!!

Pinwheel is a gift in our digital world!! I am a mom of three that had no clue the impact of the digital things on my kids, until we were already waist deep in smart phones and all the digital things. We took the hard road for sure!! So much so, I launched a podcast to help mom's navigate this pivotal and wild ride no parent can ignore! (The Be THAT Mom Movement Podcast) So that being said, I truly believe the "dumb smart phone" option like what Pinwheel has created, is a mother's gift in this interconnected world, keeping us in the driver's seat while we help our kids navigate the deep blue sea of all of the digital things. Now if someone could just invent a time machine so I could take one back in time to when I was first giving my kids smart phones, when things like the Pinwheel did not exist yet, that would be great! You can't go wrong with being proactive in the digital world, because the digital things can and absolutely will impact your child, so please take steps today to mitigate that influence, by staying in the driver's seat of your kids journey down this path. Please be THAT mom!!

Ems spent an enormous amount of time (and patience) helping me to get back into my son's phone. My son had changed his password and mistyped or forgot what it was. Great customer service!

Excellent service from Pinwheel. The first person who took my call was very receptive to my needs and transferred me to the right person. Mark Supetran was amazing. His patience and ability to walk me through step-by-step was much needed today as I was stressed about my Deaf son not being able to access help if needed. Y'all are amazing and made me one happy mom!!

The agent who answered my call, Mark, was very efficient and helpful with handling my request to re-new my Pinwheel subscription. Mark was informative, polite, and provided all of the things I needed to know for the renewal to be successful. I am aware of the next steps, which is extremely helpful. I would be thrilled to have him help me again in the future. Nice find with this one! Good customer service agents are hard to come by.

We applied to use their services. After 17days nobody has approved us or communicated with us. YET, they have the audacity to send a invoice that is due. Which states we used their services for a month!? We can't even access their services, but we get billed. Don't waste your time. There are better services out there.
