Customer service was helpful in answering my question and we received the hood. It looks good and it has been doing a much better job catching the exhaust from the stove as compared to our existing range.

Very easy to install & very effective in pushing out the smoke & oil through microwave chimney when using the front burners of gas range.

Great Product. Not only makes your over-the-range microwave efficient but also reduces the cooking smell in the kitchen. My wife was skeptical but now she is very happy with the purchase. The price kept me away from buying (129USD) since I can buy a brand new microwave for 299CDN. The price could be lower for such a simple solution. Shipping to Canada is also expensive(45USD). I wish they open a Canadian outlet and ship it free for Canadians as well. If you need a good deal, buy refinished product (sold as, "less than perfect product").

Got my order after a month. The package in good condition, installation is very simple and straight forward and it looks good, matching on our microwave.

The hood does divert smoke/oils very effectively. As to style I think I will remove when having company.

Was searching for something to replace my microwave/hood combo when I learned about this product. Figured I'd give it a shot and am very pleasantly surprised at how effective it is at redirecting fumes into the microwave vents!

I'm very pleased with my vent hood. Its just what every microwave needs that is above the stove! Its great!

I think the construction is good. I might see if I can add some washers under the screw heads as the slot is nearly the size of the head of the screw. I don't like the plastic spacers. I understand their necessity since my microwave has the nubs on the bottom. I may drill out those holes if I think the gaps hinder performance. Overall I'm happy though and we'll see how it performs.

While the product is good, the edges are a little sharp. Depending on how much room you have above the range, you could get some scratches/cuts in your hand while cooking. Another issue is that the screws that are provided are not universal. The screws that came with the package did not fit my microwave model (Kitchenaid). So, beware of this issue.

This has a design flaw. On Samsung Microwave, it has a filter underneath, and this blocks the opening of it. i.e. you can't take out the filter without opening the full hood unit which is hooked with 3 screws. Another issue is - unit (clamp) that goes with the screw, it overlap with the filter opener and does not fit well, so you see a gap, and it doesn't look straight.

The hood should retract back when not needed. Then it would be a great design
