Microvisor - removable mini hood extension for microwave over the range
Adding end caps to the install tube would enhance the finished look!
Having recently experienced a potential fire hazard on the stove I recalled seeing the advertisement re the Microvisor. So I decided this may help capture the heat from an unattended pot with the element on high. I struggled with the initial installation though it appeared rather a simple task!! After a failed exercise I reached out for help. George offered to come to my aid. We made a schedule and in a few minutes with an impact drill the task was done. I offered a lunch and a soft drink and a thank you. I am very pleased with this device both in appearance and function.
This is exactly what I needed. Very Easy to install and it installs quickly. The video is easy to understand. For once a product that does what it says and looks just like the photos and installs as easily as they say. I definitely recommend. I forgot to mention delivery was on time packaging was good product had no defects.

Purchased product, unfortunately didn’t read return policy before I installed it. Product did not work at all. Horrible. Returned it and because I hung it up was unable to return for refund. Would not recommend product. Buyer beware. Any company that won’t let you return there product because it does not work us shady in my opinion.

Mostly solved the problem I was having with the terrible performance of the OTR microwave I have. The suction still isn't great but this visor helps funnel the steam and smoke and probably sucks up about twice as much as without it. Edit I should mention the poor suction has more to do with the low CFM of the microwave fan that I have.
Hood did not work for me. It was easily detached from its holder and fell on my glass top stove chipping it. They have a no -return policy for the one I purchased. I will sell it at my next yard sale. This is the feedback I received after writing my review. (Reply from Microvisor Hood 12 hours ago Jeanne, We have no email or phone call from you. If you purchase this unit you should read their return policy and judge for yourself. If I had been able to return the hood I would not have written a review.
I didn't want to rate my Microvisor Hood until I had cooked several times with it installed. Installation was a "walk in the park" and I've cooked numerous times with NO smoke detectors going off. Before, even with my stove hood ventilated to the outside, my smoke detectors would go off in minutes and I would have to open all the doors in my house to clear out the smoke. Now....quiet! Great buy.
Just got it. Fit well. Vents a lot more smoke and steam.
It does exactly what I wanted and it looks good to.

Excellent design, even the packaging was well thought out to protect the unit. The hood was so very easy to install with the clear and understandable instructions provided. Delightfully, it complemented the looks of the GE microwave, and actually DOES work very well, to my delight. We had been talking about needing some kind of hood area above the stove not a couple of days before I saw this ad. So glad I acted on it. Well worth the price.

Screws provided were too long; screws removed form microwave were then too short. There were two dimples on the microwave that prevented a flush fit for the visor mount, so there is a space between the microwave and the hood mount that allows steam to escape. I had to put an extra spacer in to get a straight fit. However, using the hood worked reasonably well for the intended purpose. I will need to fill the space between the hood mount and the microwave.
