I discovered Knives and Tools a few years ago after the great British exit from the EU SM and CU, and I am so glad that I did. A Dutch company, and therefore within the EU, their website is a brilliant online Aladdin's cave of all things knives, tools and gadgets. I enjoy browsing their website and probably buy more than I should because of its ease of search and navigation and the comprehensive information on every item advertised. I usually use the German .de website to place my orders and I am happy with the prices of their products. Their delivery tracking can be a bit hit-and-miss from time to time, but I am always confident that the goods will arrive within a reasonable period of time. I find that there can be a little “black hole” when the order moves from K&T to their delivery partner. But online tracking is available and eventually it catches up and items are delivered safely and in great condition. Their packaging and boxing are also excellent. Which brings me to my little niggle. As mentioned, I usually purchase from the .de site rather than from the Irish .ie site. I have noticed that in some cases, the prices on the .ie site are dearer for the same items than on the .de site. For example, a recent purchase was €10 dearer on .ie than on .de. This represented a price differential of 11% between the two websites, with the same delivery costs. Given that all items are shipped from the Netherlands, this seems unreasonable and, in my view, should not happen. Nevertheless, I am very happy shopping with K&T and will continue to do so, but I will keep checking their various domains for the best available price. Update 15 Apr 2022. I was very pleased that K&T reached out to me today by telephone and we had a great discussion about their company, products, service and pricing strategies. It's great that a company takes the time to respond so quickly and openly to customer feedback. Needless to say, I will continue to shop with K&T and am more than happy to recommend them.
As always, a super efficient service. I was promptly informed of a delay in shipping but it arrived the morning after its original delivery date so not really a delay in my opinion.
