the biggest disadvantage is that if you buy at a really bargain price the HPI does not protect you. But what if you buy cheap because the car is simple mechanically broken and repairable? I find it unfair. But other than this a useful service. More info could be available though on previous vehicle history.

Got a check done on my truck just wonted to know if it was not stolen also no hp on it came back clean plus some other checks done on it for pece of mind it is well worth paying to have it done will use it again on next truck

I used HPI principally because it checked to see if the car had been written off, scrapped or was part of a finance agreement. That;ll have to do, life's too short to provide long free reviews.

The HPI check revealed a great deal of adverse info regarding a Rover 75 advertised on eBay Which I reported to eBay nevertheless the car was relisted and subsequently sold to the highest bidder. Looking again at the HPI info it looks somewhat garbled I am thinking now I may have missed a bargain.

I recently purchased an ex Land Rover demo Freelander from a reputable Land Rover main dealer. As I paid cash for the vehicle I was invited to take it away straight away. HPI through up "Outstanding Finance" as the dealer had not paid Jaguar back at that stage. Embarrassing for the dealer but reassuring for us that HPI had discovered this. The result was we left the vehicle with the dealer until the finance had been cleared. Thank you HPI team!

Always worth a check before you part with your money

Went to sell my car which was in fine order!! HPI check says it was stolen.... Wrong, previously stolen but not for 4 years!!! Loads of problems, missed another car etc etc... Rang HPI who forced me to buy ANOTHER check before investigating! Not interested, no apology, only interested in making money! Wouldnt trust their data at all from my experiance!!!

Don't use that webside just find free option in internet. They will not provide all information but you still have to pay full price. Don't waste you money.....

I think hpi are great but I wanted to buy a classic bmw for my wife and they would not allow me to have the 7 days free insurance drive away as car was over 11 years, this was not made clear as I would of bought from else where..........

Found a car i like ran the hpi check it tell me its automatic car an the car i was viewing was a manual car some think wrong there.
