Recently bought a car from a national reputable dealer and forgot to HPI check before I bought it. However I did so after purchase and discovered 50% difference in mileage (upwards). Dealer extremely embarrassed with situation and is investigating. My message is to always carry out an HPI check. I know mistakes are made and it may be in this case however I will have peace of mind.

A small price to pay for important information and peace of mind when looking to buy a second hand vehicle. My chech highlighted outstanding finance on the vehicle l am thinking of buying and l will have the full HPI report at hand when l visit the dealer, all other information was correct according the dealers description. I also visited the DVLA site where l checked previous MOT,s which was a good guide on the mileage of the vehicle.
