Get aerial images, video, and data nationwide at a fraction of the cost and time with DroneBase
Don’t get me wrong I love Drone Base and with out them I wouldn’t of gotten where I am today. However lately I’ve been on a few missions that have taken a lot more time then they should have due to poor planning. Getting held up outside of gated communities has been an issue on several missions but most importantly the decrease in payouts has been the biggest upset of all. I no longer except the amount of missions that I use to due to this. This is my honest truth and I know many others feel the same way..
One of the best organizations to fly for
I didn't accept the mission until the payout was increased. The payout wasn't increased until I sent an email and the mission turned into a last minute situation. It would be nice if all these services would just pay what the service is worth instead of the constant low balling.
Affordable but communication is a problem. Have had to get multiple projects re-shot because instructions weren't followed.
Great price, great customer service. Excellent experience all around.
With the new client missions, I think their training and faq resources to get the missions done is fantastic. They try to systematize everything so there is little guess work. Payouts are fair too. Support via email is pretty good as well
Experience just keeps getting better.
Easy to request a mission and quick correspondence with customer service.
This is such a great and fun way to enjoy your drone and make a bit of cash at the same time, when opportunities present themselves. Keep in mind, though, these projects don't come on a regular basis. You just have to be patient for jobs to show up in your area. The agents are extremely responsive when you contact them. The projects range from simple to interesting (when it comes to power lines, cell towers and other air traffic). I've had to reshoot a couple of times, but this was due to pilot error. I've completed many projects in the Tampa, FL area and am now back in the Dallas, TX area. I just completed another job about a week ago. Definitely give it a try!
No one ever responds to me. I have asked for a call several times.
Always high quality, high res shots Communicates scheduling effectively Inquiries exactly what client needs Timely to meet project deadlines
Straight forward assignments, clear instructions. Prompt payment.
Their website is very easy to order the product you need. Communication is great, and their product they produce is very professional and clean.
Training from dronebase is good overall, giving pilots the necessary information to get consistent shots. A few areas of improvement are: 1. Mission invitations/selection A colleague pilot in the same city as me is getting way more mission invitations than I, though we are both qualified pilots. Dronebase claims missions are sent "first come, first served", but through talking with this other pilot, there have been many mission invitations that he has gotten that I have not. It appears there is an amount of favoritism on Dronebase's part. 2. Mission scheduling/completion Dronebase asks pilots to complete missions based on a few factors, some of which are cloud/weather conditions and within a certain number of days and timeframe within the day. I unfortunately had to learn the hard way by shooting and reshooting a mission several times that weather and sky conditions (cloud coverage) is more important than finishing the mission as soon as possible. There is a vibe in signing up for missions that missions should be done as soon as possible (given you can only schedule missions a few days out), but have to reschedule over and over again and that should be avoided if possible. Long story short, Dronebase should be more upfront with pilots that weather/sky conditions are more important than completing the shoot as quick as possible for certain mission types and that rescheduling is ok and not frowned upon. 3: payouts Pilots should be offered higher payouts. Period. Dronebase earns $500-$600 from the current for commercial real estate missions that include video. Pilots get a third of that. Why is Dronebase pocketing 2/3 of client payment for simply hosting the media/assets when pilots are taking on all the risk?
Super SUPER SUPER
The drone job was easy to complete. The clients instructions were simple and easy to follow. This was my first job with Dronebase and overall I was very satisfied. My only concern is, they need more jobs in my area (Northern California). I would refer other pilots but the lack of jobs in this area, would be something I would definitely Inform them of.
DroneBase has been good to me over the past 2 years and I highly recommend them. The missions so far have been both challenging and rewarding. DroneBase is usually very quick to answer any questions or respond to any issues with any mission that I've flown for them. From what I can tell they also seem to have a good reputation in the industry and continue to expand their customer base which results in more missions for pilots!
They got out there quickly and drone flight looked great!
Five stars. This is my first experience with drone photography and after a thorough comparison of price and general impression, I went with DroneBase. Having received the photos, it’s hard to believe I’d ever consider another. Great job and thank you to DroneBase.
I contracted with DroneBase to complete a Pre-Construction Survey of an existing building to get an idea of the current rooftop conditions. The process was honestly flawless. A flight time was scheduled with the site superintendent and within a few days I received the results. I will definitely be using DroneBase for all of my future Pre-Construction surveys.
