Christopher Smith Chris has attended today to help us with installation of new updates for our phone system including APPS - as always nothing is too much trouble for Chris - he is so patient and excellent at what he does - he is such a pleasure to have in the office. I hope that CHESS realise what a true asset they have in Chris - he travelled FOUR HOURS to get to us today and was bright and breezy when he arrived and was the same when he left late afternoon to do the same journey back. We need more Chris's in the world!!

Messrs Nicholls - Martin Cosgrove from Chess ICT has installed our new cloud voice telephone system. It went very smoothly and even though it was quire a complicated set up explained how it worked well and made sure everything worked as it should.

I only had Chess for landline as our broadband was by satellite. We were being charged almost £40 a month for a phone we hardly used but because of poor mobile reception we needed to keep. Unfortunately we renewed the contract in 2023 but it was not made clear to us of the unfair and astronomical termination charges which is basically the same charge per month until the end of the contract in 2026. This is unheard of by other companies, I would not have minded paying £250 or so for early termination but this is now working out as over £1000.00 for a landline which are being phased out anyway. Do not sign with Chess they are cowboys! An update to the reply below, Chess did contact me and reviewed but no change to decision and they have refused to provide recorded message of when the contract was signed.

I was about to give up and go elsewhere when my contract expired. I wasn't happy. I felt Chess had taken advantage of me being deaf, and grieving my husband. It seemed I'd agreed to a two-year contract at a hefty price tag, (but when deaf you often hear incorrectly), especially when the diction is poor. When due for renewal I had the distinct feeling that Chess thought: 'Business would be great if it weren't for the customers.' And then I made the mistake of looking at the complaints and thought OMG. This isn't the company I once knew all those years ago. Just by what people were saying, I knew it would be a waste of time trying to reach a compromise. So I emailed and said I'd finish the contract in September. I knew I'd find a good deal. I wasn't concerned. I was very angry at Chess's indifference, but I looked at it this way. How would I feel if I put another "0" on the end? Gutted, 76.00 pounds a month suddenly seemed better than 760. a month. So, I put it down to experience and I'd walk my talk, and never recommend them again. Then along came Liz 0'Conner. For the first time, there was someone with my ethics, professional attitude, a good dose of common sense and masses of empathy to boot. Liz O'Conner was professional, warm and kind and I warmed to her straight away. Liz sorted everything, and was patient (I was going through a lot at the time, again!) but she came up with a fair price, one I felt was far better than what I'd been charged before. And above all, she apologised for what had happened in the past. Because the first person I spoke to back in April time, came over with a 'take it or leave it, we have you on record as saying yes' with a 'fight it if you dare', attitude. As a trainer myself for over 40 years, I would suggest Liz O'Conner trained all the staff at Chess, so they could go back to their roots of Service with a Smile. What Liz O'Conner does effortlessly, is this: She takes her heart with her to work. Too many leave their heart at home and it shows. But then if she did train others I'd lose her, and to be honest, Liz is the only reason I stayed with Chess. No other reason. Liz O'Conner's professionalism, patience and love of her work shine through. The customer knows best, even if Chess thinks otherwise, which was something I adhered to. And this is something Liz O'Connor knows about, and that's why she's professional and brilliant at her job. I now feel confident that if I have a problem (I've never had many in the past) but it's comforting to know Liz is contactable.

VaccintionUK Cambs and Peterborough Martin Cosgrove from Chess ICT has installed our new cloud voice telephone system Martin was very patient and sorted out our IT problems before even doing the phones. Would recommend. Very helpful

The fact that Ricky tried to help when others couldn't/wouldn't was reassuring and also reduced my stress level. This isn't over for me just yet but I feel having Ricky as a contact will make things run more smoothly.
