Big Bear Cool Cabins were professional. They treated us well. Our trip was a weekend getaway. We enjoyed our cabin very much. We cooked most of our meals there and everything we needed to cook was available which was wonderful. The rooms were nice size.

The cabin itself, Moonlight Shores Lakefront, is beautiful and well-located with an amazing view of the lake. We appreciated that Big Bear Cool Cabins allowed us to check in an hour early, which was a nice gesture. The cabin was equipped with a drip coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator, which were convenient for our stay. However, there were several significant issues that made our stay less enjoyable. The hot tub, which was one of the main reasons we chose this cabin, did not work for half of our stay. Not being able to use it was a huge disappointment and felt like money wasted, as I would not have paid for a cabin with a hot tub had I known it wouldn’t be functional. Another concern was the lack of air conditioning. While this wasn’t entirely unexpected, it became a problem due to the fact that the sliding patio door didn’t have a lock. We had to keep the windows closed whenever we left the cabin to secure our belongings, which made the cabin unbearably hot during the day. This significantly impacted our ability to enjoy our time there. We were also promised a free fruit basket as part of our booking, but this was not provided. The website even mentioned the promotion during checkout, yet no basket was there when we arrived. While we did receive an extended stay as compensation, it felt rather pointless given the other issues we encountered. Lastly, the internet service was very poor. While we were there to enjoy the outdoors, it would have been nice to wind down at night with a movie. Unfortunately, the unreliable internet made streaming almost impossible. Overall, while the location and the cabin itself have great potential, these issues left us feeling frustrated and disappointed. We expected more from our stay, especially given the cost and the expectations set by the amenities offered.

My son and I took a week long trip to Big Bear and took a chance with this cabin on VRBO. We looked at several properties before choosing this one and we were beyond happy with our stay. The cabin is on the quiet side of the lake in Fawnskin and has the most beautiful and breath taking views day and night of the lake. The deck was our favorite place to sit and eat, talk and enjoy the view. We watched the ducks swim and the fish jump. We rented a boat and went fishing right down the way from the cabin. Beds were comfortable and the couch was relaxing with lake views. It was Clean and had everything we needed to have an amazing and relaxing time out. If they ever decided to sell the cabin, I want first right of refusal. 😂. We will absolutely be back for many years to come. The property management company was on point and very responsive. Love it!

The cabin was very comfortable; the place was clean for the most part (too much dust on walls, but we understand how difficult it is to clean rustic wood) The linens were plenty and clean; plenty of dishes and kitchen gadgets (it felt like home); great water pressure; quiet neighbors; and...Drum roll please... the lake view could not be beat. We were sad that the lake was not accessible from our cabin... but the VIEW, Amazing!

Another nice trip to big bear! Thanks 😊 the only thing I wish is that the back yard was fenced in all the way so we could let dogs outside without walking every time with a lease. But everything else is fine

I rent the same cabin every three months. It’s a little rough and probably over pay for what it is but my daughter likes that particular cabin and every cabin I have ever rented from BBCC has always been clean and the staff are all great people so I don’t have any reason to look anywhere else. If you don’t put too much thought into it and accept the cabins with their flaws you will have a great time. Only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was they now charge $25 an hour to check in early. The cabin is literally ready to go and sitting empty whenever the cleaning crew is done with it but they charge to go in early where if you stay at the lodge they will let you In as soon as it’s clean, even if it’s 8am as a courtesy for free. Just good business. It bugs me more knowing that I always check out super early allowing them to make extra money on my trips and I do that every three months BUT that where thinking too much will ruin the vacation.

Excellent service as always. I called because I totally forgot what time check in was and could not find my email with the details and she was able to let us check in early.

I have used Cool Cabins several times and I am always impressed with their communication and response times. The only negative is I receive text messages, emails, and info through the app and it can be difficult to find the info when I need it.

I had several questions at the beginning of our trip and the customer service was excellent. I wish I had gotten her name as she was extremely helpful.

The cabin was better than pictured and had all the amenities that we could need for our vacation. I loved how they had toys, books, games, a nightlight and white noise machine for the kids. All the rooms had phone chargers set up by the beds which was so convenient. It was very clean and well decorated. The walk to the village was super convenient. We did go during the summer so it was warmer in the house than we would have preferred because there’s no AC really any place in Big Bear. We brought our own standing fans with us and that helped cool it down. I would definitely book through this company again.

The rental worked for our needs, however there were a number of issues that impacted our experience overall. The instructions provided for the rental were generic and did not fully apply to our rental. The hot tub breaker was tripped at some point and was unusable as it would have taken a couple hours to reheat and instructions on how to operate it was not on the instructions (note this was towards the end of our last day so did not reach out to office to resolve). The showers were not properly cleaned (one was full of hair and the other was full of dead flies). Would have appreciated at least a quick rinse had the rental been vacant for a while as evident from the dead flies. The handles for the valves on the showers are not properly attached to the walls so it was difficult to turn on and off. Would be helpful to have a few extra batteries for the remotes as well as some of them were no longer functioning.

Our rental location ( Hakuna Matata) was amazing. The place was spacious and there were a lot of activities in the game room. Fishing from the dock was fun. Only little thing was that the grass/weeds surrounding the dock was a bit overgrown but not a big deal. The rooms were clean and kitchen spacey. We would definitely do this again!
