I ordered a 200W Sticky Mat to go under an engineered wood floor to provide a primary heat source when I converted the old kitchen in my flat into a bedroom. I ordered a mat to cover 4m2, which fit the dimensions of the room perfectly but I have not been at all happy with the functioning and quality of the product. The bedroom temperature never exceeds 17C and, whilst I like a cool bedroom, I do not like a cold one and have now had to resort to using an electric blanket to warm the bed at night as the room is so cold. I was contacted by David from the technical support department and have tested the thermostat and the mat and it appears that the mat has malfunctioned. However, rather than even consider the possibility there is a fault with the mat, the company's default position seems to be that the installer damaged the mat (the same installer who followed the instructions to the letter, ran all the necessary tests and installed the underfloor heating in the bathroom which is working perfectly incidentally). My options now are to rip up the flooring, replace the mat with a "heavily discounted" new one, replace the flooring and hope the new mat works or get a radiator installed. The radiator option is probably the better one as it will definitely heat the room and my electricity bills, which have tripled, will be reduced considerably. However, whichever option I choose way it will be at considerable additional expense to me not to mention the inconvenience. I am not at all happy and would not recommend this company or their underfloor heating mats for laminate/wood. In response to the reply from Ambient Elec, I DID NOT inform you the resistance had changed to a reading that would indicate the heating mat had become damaged once the floor had been laid. If you actually read my message to you of 17th January 2020, the resistance was tested once the flooring had gone on top of the mat and before it was hard-wired into an isolating switch. It is between passing that final check and now that the mat has failed.

Only ordered a small pack of insulation boards which were very competitively priced, but there was nothing "extra" to add on such as VAT or delivery yet communication was 1st class and they came next day.

Placed an order with Ambient UFH because they assured "next working day delivery". The order did not arrive that day, neither it was put for delivery the day after. Once the matter was followed up, the company advised they could not guarantee "next day delivery". The company has dishonestly advertised the service they could not provide. This is seriously impacting our work schedule and results in significant loss of business. I shall never use Ambient UFH in the future.
