Donington Park Circuit, DE74 2BN, Castle Donington, GB
We had a very good day which was marred by not being able to enter the track on Thursday to drop off the trailers and cars before heading to our hotel. The guy at the gate said that nobody from Bookatrack had asked for this facility. This caused us a lot of hassle. I have never known this to be a problem before at any track. Shame. The track day was run really well though so thanks for a great day.
Second track day with BaT and loved it again. Safety is a priority, instructors were very helpful, well organised.
Great experience from start to finish love all the communication keep you upto date from booking online to send an email with the pictures on this is the 4 th track day I have used as testing before a race. Won't mention any names but books track is 2nd place for me I track expreance and 1st for communication will book again really nice team thank you
On the 2 test days that I attended the days were run efficiently and the number of cars on track about right .
Great day, no pressure, no briefings, turn up and registration easy. Lots of track time and a good safe format, see you next year!
The team were welcoming, professional yet friendly. Cars were prepared very well. The minor fault that developed was fixed reasonably quickly though it did lose us the last 10 or so laps. But hey - faults happen and they fixed it. ONly niggle would be to do with the number of cars (mainly Ginetttas) on track and spinning off it that caused red flags and lost track time ... That's nothign to do with Book-a-Track though who did their job very well. Thanks guys!
I would have awarded a 4 but I just found it a very expensive track day. £50 for an additional driver is Unnecessary, I do alot of track days and that is alot. BaT days are definitely aimed more at racing teams as this felt like a test day not a track day. At least the weather held up!
I have done several track days organised by BaT and all have been enjoyable and well organised.
I did a track day with 2 friends at Donnington in August. We hired one of BaT caterhams and had an instructor for most of the day. The day was excellent from the car, the facilities, the instructor the attitude of all involved. If you want a track day and to be taught how to drive faster than you think you can use BaT
Good briefing, everything made clear, excellent standard of driving by all...... Nothing to complain about.......
Well organised track day with sensible number of cars, some interesting vehicles and fast reopening of the track after spinners and those in the gravel. Even the rain held off until late in the day
This was the first time I'd been to a Book a Track venue - the whole day was excllent, relaxed and informal. Needed a day out following major engine issues on my 944 tace car. Following the pre start briefing we just got on with it. Did as many laps as we wanted to do (could have done a lot more) - no waiting or faffing. Will use them again - not question. (better than a test day) Geoff
Well organised day with clear instructions beforehand to help keep things stress free. Would definitely recommend.
I booked a car for a full day on Friday the 21st august 2015. We had a dedicated instructor with the car for the whole day. He was very good and allowed us to push beyond our own limits. The car was in good working order and lots of people to help with getting you in and out. Sometimes the change over of driver was a bit slow and we lost quite a bit of time. Also the car had a fault with the seat which took 15mins to fix and then it couldn't be adjusted again after. The intercom system could of been of better quality with better ear phones which I found difficult to keep in my ears. Some lap timing equipment would have been nice. Overall I would recommend them but some small improvements could be made
For my first (car) trackday I booked a novice only trackday at Donnington and whilst some of the drivers were not novices and most of the cars were high performance models the driver briefing made it clear that any overly aggressive behavior would not be tolerated, reassuring for a nervous first timer. Track time started with two sighting laps following a course car then the open pitlane format time started this lasted for 3 hours which I found to be plenty I covered over 100 miles on the track! I found the whole experience excellent and the staff very friendly, I can't wait to do another!
Excellent turn key experience. Just arrive with your paperwork downloaded and the seamless process begins, Professional briefing to give you the confidence that rules are understood by all folks out on track. Sighting laps ensure folks new to the circuit become familiar. Your car is already prepped and ready with a garage team on hand to help. You drive, you return with a big grin. The garage team prep the car for your next drive........ All day. Plus expert 1:1 instruction is available as an option to ensure you can make progress with your track driving skills. The Caterham 620R is an experience that every track day driver should enjoy, you only live once.
It's 3 years since I last did a track day, and it's good to see that Bookatrack are still the same efficient outfit. The briefing, pit lane organisation, and general approach are what you would want to minimise risk, and maximise the fun of time on track. If I had one small niggle it would be a question. How well do they brief the drivers of the Caterhams they hire out? I had one idiot in front of me who wouldn't know a racing line if it were drawn on the circuit for him, and who repeatedly veered sharply from side to side, the assumption of Muppetdom was well advised. Also this chap didn't seem to know left from right, the one time he was on the correct line coming into the hairpin at Melbourne Loop he positioned himself on the extreme left, then invited me, somewhat frenetically, to overtake - with the rule of overtaking on the left only, it would have meant an excursion onto the grass for me. Still I guess you can't choose your customers!
Briefing was thorough and well done. Could have done with a couple more siting laps, having never driven Donnington before.. Day was good fun though marshaling was somewhat sparse around the circuit in places. Excellent behavior by all cars-perhaps this is the advantage of a more costly day-the drivers certainly were more 'professional' than at some track day events. Wonderful circuit and I shall certainly return!
Good day. Good track. Extras are over priced. Othe company's offer better value.
This day was a dream come true. We are two guys from Denmark, who always wanted to tryout a real racecar on a truly great racetrack. But standing there in The flesh, with one racecar after another was getting us a bit nervous. But the help and The briefing was Ace, and all day tough we got all The help we needed. For newbies like us, The time with, The pro driver was super. And again it helped US a lot, and made it easy to enjoy The day.
