The team arrived 08:00 hrs. The removal of the old asbestos roof was carried out with organised precision. One of the team immediately cleaned away the detritus. The wrapping/securing of the old asbestos sheets was also done with great organisation and thoroughness. The new roof is, in my opinion, superb. Since fitting it has rained hard and I have not experienced any leaks. It has also been very windy and the roof has not shown any signs of having been poorly secured In summary, I would not hesitate to recommend VSF!

We had an asbestos roof removed and a new rubber roof fitted, The quality of work was excellent from the two installers really tidy and friendly gents ! Brilliant ! The sales experience could have been better I had to do abit of the chasing and explaining what we actually required a few times but once I was through to planning all was good !

We would gladly recommend  VSF garage roofing. We had our leaky asbestos garage roof replaced, with all safety precautions followed, along with our broken garage door and surrounding frontage. We had existing guttering flowing into several water butts which were all refitted and now work really well.  The finish has greatly enhance our garage and the overall aspect  of our house. Anthony and Darren worked nonstop and were happy to explain the work that would be carried out and answer any questions we had.  We were advised to leave a small gap between the rear wall which had old chips in the top edge and the ridges in new roof to prevent condensation however we were given foam wedges if we decided to block the ridges in the roof at later date. We have fitted a small wooden batten to cover the old chips in the wall to enhanced the finish as this wasn't in the work plan. Perhaps potential customers could discuss this with the surveyor if they have similar issues. We had the roof fitted in September 24, despite several episodes of very heavy rain we have not had any leaks. Everyone arrived as arranged and on time and the office staff were readily available by telephone and email. Our property was left clean and tidy and all waste was removed. We received the asbestos disposal paperwork as promised. Thank you for a first class service and fixing our garage.

Ordering was simple and the surveyors knowledgeable and gave good advice and assurances. The wait while the roof was manufactured and a delivery date agreed was reasonable. Everything arrived on time along with the installation team. The old roof asbestos corrugated sheeting was removed with the installation team in coveralls, masks, gloves etc. The sheets were removed by cutting the brackets holding them onto the metal roof frame. There was little damage to the sheets which were carried to the van and securely wrapped for eventual delivery to a registered disposal site. My garage and my neighbours are only about 2 feet apart and difficult to access. Somehow they managed to install the new guttering and bargeboard on that side. It would have| been very difficult to have installed the roof on that side. The answer was to assemble the full 23 foot length, multiple panels, on the easily accessible side, screw the panels together and then ease the full length across the steep apex and slide it down into position on the difficult side. It was then secured from inside the garage by leaning out over the apex from the inside. Clever. The easy side was then assembled and secured, and the apex cover fitted. Lastly the bargeboard and guttering was installed on this side. I opted to have the two windows on the garden side renewed. This involved removing the old metal frames and glass. The new windows were smaller than the embrasure and had to have wooden framing before they could be installed. This was all done with a lot of hammering. The roof looks wonderful and seems watertight during heavy rains since installation. I am very happy overall however would note a few defects which might have been avoided with a little more care and time, the installers were tired, this was a big job, some complications and it was starting to get dark so they wanted to finish. 1. I cannot see anywhere where the roof panels are secured at the outside, lower end of the roof. At the apex the panels are secured into the long wooden support beams. The panels are screwed together at mid length (should there not be a middle wooden beam?) and again at the lower end, but not to the outer, lower wooden beam. Perhaps I have missed something but superficially it looks as though the whole roof is only secured at the top apex and relying on the weight of the panels at the lower end. 2. The wooden frames for the windows are poorly fitted. Some joins are not flush to each other by as much as an inch in one place. Existing wooden beam holding my tool rack has been hacked out and broken when they could have been cleanly cut. The wooden frames fit so poorly that foam filler has been used to fill in the gaps and left bulging and not smoothed off. In a couple of cases sunlight can be seen at the bottom of the windows, these are small and will be easily filled with silicone but should not have been there in the first place. The installers were pleasant, worked very hard to complete a big job in the time, and were helpful to my few requests.which had been cleared with the surveyors beforehand. Sad that an otherwise clean and efficient instal was marred by some avoidable late shortcomings.

Dear Mr 25 October 2024, 02:40

From the initial contact with VSF to completion of the work everything was handled very professionally, The work was completed in one day and with very little disturbance to the contents of my double garage. The site team arrived before 8.00am and had the old garage roof removed and safely bagged and taken from site by 11.00am. The new roof was completed by 16.30 to the specifications requested.
