Recently I used the packing & moving services offered by this company from Chicago to Arizona (7/22). Based on my experience with other movers/vendors, this time, I thought of going with a branded company like Universal relocation to have a smooth and hassle-free experience. I took packing & moving services from Universal and purchased additional insurance through this vendor to cover any damages. I paid premium price + extra insurance to this vendor, but I got the same horrible experience with this vendor. Universal relocation services/promises are no different than a local agent moving service. My household items were delivered late, and there was much damage. Till today, I am struggling to claim my insurance even though I had extra insurance and all evidence for the claim. Horrible expensive packing service. My advice - Go for a local moving company/agent and save a lot of money. Both (local movers and Universal relocation) will deliver the same services, so why pay more? Things look great on the surface but slowly, you see the true face.
The overall process starting from packing, transit and delivery from Chennai, India to Selangor, Malaysia went super smooth thanks to the help of reliable staff, Mr Michael, Mr Abhishek and their counterparts in Malaysia. Delivery was according to expected duration and all items are in good condition.
Was looking for a moving company to send my household items to India from USA and my friends suggested Universal as they have already used their service… I was sceptical In the beginning but more I interacted with the universal team more comfortable I got. Items reached safely as promised and I was promptly updated till delivery. I have used Universal Relocations Service 2nd time for shipping, had very good experience. Liked the way they keep you updated about shipment status. On time pickup.
To start off with the positives, the team is very polite and courteous but the information they provided was inconsistent. This is for delivery from India to the US (July 2022). Each person who was handling my package gave completely different information and I was charged extra during delivery. The main issue I had with their service is: They do not weigh the package at the origin (which wasn't communicated to me till pickup).Then I was told it will be weighed at the warehouse in India and would be informed if there were issues. Imagine you checked in your baggage and at that time everything was Ok. At the destination the airline tells the baggage is overweight and need to pay excess, that's exactly the situation I'm in. This is after I get assurance from Universal Relocations staff that there is no issue with the weight. During pickup, I got a bill from their service parter Delhivery which says I had paid in full. Again since there was some discrepancy I verified it with my point of contact at the origin(India). Now at the destination, I'm being told that is the amount that "Universal Relocations" paid Delhivery. I don't understand why they would even give me that receipt then. Most of my communication I had with my point of contact in India was on the phone, but I do have some email and WhatsApp communication which clearly shows the staff gave me wrong information. And I don't see any inclination from the company to acknowledge the mistake. For someone else's mistakes why does the customer have to bear the cost. When I tried contacting this particular staff who was managing my delivery, to understand why I'm being charged more, I didn't get any response. Some of the staff I interacted with have been mentioned by others over here in a positive light. So I'm not naming the person(s) just in case there's some context I missed. Giving them the benefit of the doubt. Also, most of the positive reviews I see here are for shipping from US to India. Not the other way around. So don't know if there's a difference in service from India to US. P. S- I was supposed to receive a receipt for the excess weight I paid for during delivery, which I didn't.
Hands down the best pets(2dogs) moving experience I ever had.Arjun in Universal Relocation was extremely polite ,very helpful, friendly and professional. He guided me in every step in the whole process and made our work extremely easy and the most positive experience is we received our pets(from USA TO INDIA) in good conditions clean and safe with all the medical records. They worked seamlessly as a team to get the job done in the most efficient way possible. Superb door to door service from VA,USA to Hyd, India. We received all our belongings without any damage. They provided updates on every stage of the shipment. This is our 2nd time using Universal Relocations. Since we had good experience the 1st time, we used them a 2nd time to ship our household items from India to USA. However, there was a vast difference in the experience between the 1st time and 2nd time. Probably due to pre-covid and post covid experience. We had 3 people travel from Chennai to Kerala to help with packing/loading our 3 bedroom apartment. One supervisor and 2 packers. The 2 packers were super awesome. They did their work without taking any rest. They worked from 10 AM - 8 PM for 2 days. The supervisor was a true supervisor. He contributed minimal to the packing. If they had more staff, probably they would have wrapped up the whole thing in a day. They were very thorough in their work, they packed the furnitures very very well. They were very careful with the loading and very good about making sure they adhered to our apartment rules as well. No scratches/dents when we received all the packages. It took about 90-100 days for delivery to USA. We were provided the tracking details with regular communication as well. In USA, they helped unload and put the packages/furnitures in the right places. Overall, both times the experience was wonderful ! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who want to use them.

We have used the services of Universal twice. In 2016 when we moved our goods to Bangalore from US. Again , in 2021/22 moving back to the US. We used their storage service and kept our packed boxes in Bangalore for six months, before we asked them to ship in January 2022. Priya, was my contact throughout this time. In 2016, we received all our boxes , everything intact. This time around, all the boxes came intact. The packing was done meticulously, all the boxes were marked. Infact, once they had packed and left. I had a few more things which I needed to be boxed up. They returned in two days and did whatever was necessary and took all of it. It took about two months for me to get my things here. The only thing I did not like was they charged $200 more for having a two point delivery. As , the delivery was within a mile of each other. Especially after having paid so much. I have trusted them twice with my belongings and they have not let me down. Prices, are quite upfront , there are no hidden charges except custom duty which one needs to pay. If you are thinking of moving continents, I would highly recommend them.
