Can’t fault PurpleCV service. Late update. Due to disappointing (no) results from my first cv. Another consultant got back to me and started the whole process again. Completely recreated my cv and cover letter, more tailored to the jobs I’m looking at. Changed format and focus so hopefully will get some results now. ———————————————— Original post. PurpleCV does what it says it will -- you'll get a CV within a couple of days. But it feels more like a copy-paste job than any sort of personalised service. I sort of gave up on trying to get the right information included and when I asked for explanations about why things were excluded, there wasn't really one. I'm still fixing errors (optimize instead of optimise, for example) and of the jobs I've applied for with the CV I was told would give me a leg up, I've not gotten a callback. I finally submitted it to another service for review because I didn't feel like I was getting anywhere, and they told me that my ATS score was just 37 out of 100 and gave me several areas that could be improved along with actual advice and explanation. At the end of the day, the service was fine... but I'd recommend paying for a truly personalised service over this.
