So much fun!! The tour began when they picked us up at our hotel (no driving needed)! It was a small group—just 8 of us. When we were seated in the comfy bus, our wine tour guide, Gary, explained what wineries we would be visiting and touring. I don’t know if I’ve been with a better group of strangers. We meshed so well together and had the most enjoyable day, ending as friends. Gary is knowledgeable, funny and helpful. He took pics of us all day and sent them to us. The tour also includes a casual lunch and limitless water. Do not hesitate to book! A big shout out to Gary—we want to do it all over again!!

The wine tour was great the vineyards were beautiful! Van driver was very informative got group visiting with a fun ice breaker. People on the van were friendly and fun! Highly recommend this tour!

Our guide was very knowledgable and engaging. The wineries we visited each offered a unique experience from one another and had a great selection of wine for the tastings. Overall was a lovely experience and would highly recommend!

We had THE BEST time on the Sonoma Wine Tour. Our guide Gary was fun, knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. He played great music and took us to some incredible wineries and vineyards. We had so much fun, made new friends (our tour mates were wonderful people), learned a lot about wine making and the Sonoma Valley, and drank some delicious wines! Can’t wait to do another Platypus Tour when we return to the area! :)

We had a wonderful experience! Our guide, Andy, was very knowledgeable about the area and wine - he even wrote a book! We learned so much on the tour, which focused on the northern part of the Valley (starting in Calistoga and working our way down). We did the Platypus tour as well as one other while in Napa. The Platypus tour group was smaller, as we had nine people in our group, and we went to three smaller family-owned wineries - so much more personable than our other tour which had a much larger group. The tasting fees and the cost of the wine at these wineries were very reasonable and half the cost of some of the other tasting fees we experienced. The box lunch was better than expected too. We highly recommend the Platypus tour and, without hesitation, would book it again if ever back in the Napa area!

Highly recommend especially if you have a small group and are not looking for a private tour. Our tour group was great and very friendly, our guide was knowledgeable, on time and did a great job. The lunch was great! They had shipping boxes available for purchase to make it easy for us to support the wineries we visited and ship our wine back home. Honestly without them making this easily available and affordable, we would not have bought wine at the wineries without a way to ship it home. We used a different tour company before platypus and would book with platypus again.

This is my third wine tour with Platypus and I have never been disappointed. I appreciate the opportunity to visit more boutique-like wineries and smaller, family owned wineries over the large businesses. Best of all, the customer service is top-notch. They are personable, attentive, and really care about making the day the best it can be. I will use them again any day!

I had spent several hours looking through reviews of wine tours in Napa Valley because we had a limited time and I had already spent a lot of time researching wineries in Sonoma (which we enjoyed visiting the day before). This was the best experience we could’ve asked for! Already when I booked this tour, they reached out to confirm details and when pick up locations logistics had to change because of the music festival that weekend, they were very proactive and made logistics super easy for us! Dave chose 3 incredible wineries for us, lunch was delicious and lots of great memories. When we came home, we actually found wines from the wineries we visited and had no idea they existed. Dave also knew so much about wine, the history and process of wine making. When it was over, Dave made recommendations for great dinner spots and gave us a lot of insider tips for other visits. Our group had a great time and honestly, we want nothing more than to go back again. When we do, we’ll make sure to do this tour again! We found that several of the guests who were part of our tour had done this tour more than once, which can speak to their satisfaction. The prices were reasonable considering the level of service and overall experience. At first I was hesitant because it can add up to pay for each tasting at each winery but it beats driving and having to make reservations on your own. Definitely worth it if you have limited amount of time, looking for a stress free experience and open to discovering new wineries!

Kelly was a wonderful wine tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the area and the vineyards we visited. We had a lovely and pleasant experience while celebrating our 10 year anniversary!

It was an incredible experience. Jason our tour guide was nice, friendly and very knowledgeable about everything wine oriented. The vineyards selected were beyond what I expected and we were very impressed. I would be interested in coming back to the Napa area with a group and doing the tour again. Well done 5 stars.

Kyle was our tour guide, he picked amazing wineries and made the experience so fun! He packed us home made lunches that were absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend!

The driver-guide Luis was nice. The other people accompanying us in this activity were lovely people as wine lovers tend to be. Nevertheless, it is unfair that some wineries make you pay for the tasting even if you buy a bottle of wine because they want you to buy at least two ( not easy if you are taking a plain soon after…). When we paid 250 dollars (125 per pers) and we gave the minimun 18% tip suggested by the card terminal…it got too expensive! ( 300 dollar for only the tour not including tasting). Please citizens of America, take away this obsolete custom of giving tips!! Pay people better and put up the prices a little bit if necessary anything better than these almost compulsory tips that are a real pain!! As a visitor we would also like to be able to see the vineyard, touch the vines not only tasting them at the house.
