We have a low pile (1/4") carpet in our workout room. Workouts consist of tabatas, light weights, and TRX-type exercise. The brown GM Staylock bump top replaced a puzzle-piece style foam mat that would slowly move across the carpet in the direction of the carpet nap during exercise. Pros: - Staylock mat does not move at all on the carpet. - Looks much nicer than the foam mat. - The "brown" mat looks much richer than the color that appears on the GM web page. Customer review pics provide a truer image of the actual color (but ask for a sample). - Mat provides nice cushioning while still providing good foot support. - Assembled easily. While some reviews stated that a mallet or other tool was needed, a firm press with the base of the palm was all that was required. I found that slightly lifting the opposite edge of the piece that I was fastening on to the previously laid piece helps. Cons: - Workouts involving knees on the mat can be uncomfortable and required us to use extra padding such as a yoga mat. This was noted on other reviews read before purchase so no knock down in rating. - Price, including shipping, is quite high. Again, I obviously knew this before buying, so no rating adjustment. After assembly, I wanted a couple of extra pieces and found that shipping was about 6 times the product cost. I found the identical items on HDepot's website with free shipping. - On occasion, when rolling a knee or elbow from one square to the next, my weight on the first mat square pushes it down and creates a little "ledge" leading to the next square. It can be a little uncomfortable but not to the point of needing to adjust my workout to avoid this. Overall, this appears to be a well-designed product that is excellent for use on a low pile carpeted floor. I strongly recommend asking GM for a free sample tile to get a good sense for the product and its color before buying. We probably would not have gone with the brown tile before seeing the sample.

I ordered a sample of the Stay Lock Bump Tile. It seemed like what I wanted. I called Kaitlyn at the company and she answered all of the questions and took my order to ensure I had all the pieces I needed. Very great customer service and great product. So far so good.

Be customer centric. Care about issues that the customer considers as significant. In this case, we purchased a colored mat for tradeshow use. It was a style & type we had used previously from another supplier. We selected a featured color on the GreatMats website, labeled "RED". We were using this color as an accent color on a predominately "Black" floor. When we opened the box, it was Pepto-Bismol "PINK". No doubt about it... it was not "RED". We asked a dozen disinterested parties, "What color is this?" All, said "PINK". That's unfortunate but understandable that these things happen. The MAIN problem then began with GreatMats Customer Service. They chose to argue with us on our perception of colors, in lieu of just getting this situation rectified. We were told that "It was GreatMats RED". No... it's nobody's "RED"; it's PINK. Round & round we go with positions & policies with no regard for Customer Satisfaction. End of the story? We informed GreatMats of our dissatisfaction & warned them that we would most probably submit a negative review if asked. They expressed disinterest in our warning. So... here we are today. Err on the side of the customer & they just might buy more product from you in the future. We probably won't.

The receipt of the product was quick. The install was relatively easy and the product looks great by our commercial gym pool. The only negative that we have experienced that I highly recommend this company do, is to find a border that goes along the edge of the tile. They should also offer the best product to be used in cutting the tile. We went through several different ways of cutting until finding the best way to make a smooth cut.

Customer service rep was very polite and answered all my question. She made suggestions based on my needs and not profit. Shipping was quick.

The product is easily bruised and scratched. The interlocking part does not stay put. Not durable at all...

Greatmats shamed me for refusing a $2500 shipment of marley that was severely damaged and claimed I should have carried all 400 pounds into my studio down 2 flights of stairs. Did not contact me about refusal, then still didn't follow up on a reshipment replacement or refund. Due to lack of communication and service I had to make a claim with my credit card company.

Everyone I talked with was helpful and kind. I also bought a kick-ass product. Looks beautiful and is quite comfortable.
