Excellent auctioneers who include a brilliant, fairly priced, packing and postage service.

Great service from Aidan Khan for this novice seller. Distance was no object to dealing with my picture and emails were answered promptly. I would definately recommend.

Probably great at selling second hand fridges and freezers but little else! Watch out for the hidden charges especially if you don’t like paying more for poorly described items - I am able to make a decent profit on a purchase of an item that was so poorly described that I even feel sorry for the vendor but then for them to try to make extra money for themselves through hidden charges etc is pretty poor form. Buyers - If you don’t like paying more in additional charges that they rack up on spurious grounds - Avoid Sellers - they really aren’t that good at the whole auction thing - also Avoid

I am sure the auctioneer at East Bristol Auctions committed fraud against both myself and the vendor / seller of a lot; that they ended bidding early in order to sell at a low price to a friend / preferred bidder of theirs. I am crippled with motor neuron disease. This auction house has started to make their auctions "Timed, Internet Only"; you bid like on eBay basically; the only real difference is that, unlike eBay, when you bid in the last 10 minutes of an East Bristol Timed Auction, the time remaining for bids resets to 10 minutes (the lot ends once people stop bidding in the remaining 10 minutes). A powerchair (special mobility wheelchair) lot 1255 was listed for their 14th March 2022 Timed auction. It was the exact powerchair I wanted but could not afford new / from a dealer. There was no reserve (just a minimum initial bid amount). It was listed and available for people to bid some 4 weeks prior. I put a bid in approximately 2 weeks before the auction was to end. On the 14th March I went online ready to bid again, as I knew others would almost certainly bid on it and at the last few minutes. Sure enough, there was a small flurry of bids, and I rebid to stay ahead each time (remember: each time someone bids in the last 10 minutes of the lot, the time remaining goes back to 10;00 minutes left). Suddenly, while there was over 8 minutes left to bid (I was tactically waiting to bid again at 8:00 minutes to go), the lot was closed and I could not bid again. I complained, bitterly, believing the lot had been sold to another "preferred" bidder (through fraud / corruption / nepotism). I again explained my disability and need for that powerchair. All I got from the auctioneers was nastiness and threats of legal action for complaining and publishing my complaint; no compassion, no apology, just nastiness. I was eventually advised that it was withdrawn by the auctioneer when they realized it was selling for too little (remember, it had no reserve) and the seller / vendor has stipulated a reserve but the auction house forgot to apply it! They say they are relisting it in a future auction with a reserve and I can bid again if I want to. No, I don't want to; I don't care how much I need that particular chair, I would rather crawl around then bid on it again. I don't believe the auctioneer for one moment. I believe what happened is, when I complained and threatened legal action, the auctioneer had just two choices; a) admit fault, or b) claim they withdrew the lot for some BS reason. Again, listed and available for people to bid on for 4 weeks, removed after people had bid and just 8 minutes before the auction was currently due to end. Plus, the then end time was some minutes after the original lot closure time (it was extended several times of course by the 10 minute rule), so the auctioneer, suddenly, after 4 weeks, after the auction was due to close, decided to withdraw it? I think they got found / called out and are trying to whitewash what happened. No apology, no compassion, just threats of legal action if I publish my complaint. Why? There is Freedom of Speech in this country, thank God (we are not in Russia). And the facts say the almost certain reason I was prevented from bidding on / winning the disabled powerchair I needed is that the auctioneer was acting in fraud. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Beyond that, given what I am sure of, I would NEVER sell anything through East Bristol Auctions.

I sold some pollypocket items through Bristol East Auctions. The staff were helpful at every stage, from the lady who initially valued them, to the Iady I spoke to on the phone to clear up a query. I was surprised and pleased with the amount realised on auction day

Susanna at East Bristol was a delight to deal with, rushing delivery of a birthday present that I had bought at auction for my daughter. Lovely people, I will definitely buy through them again

I did not receive professional service at all when I placed several first edition signed books into East Bristol Auctions. Numerous books which they said would be sold separately on a written invoice with notification of a fixed reserve before selling were sold in job lots for a fraction of their true value. It disgusts me that Evan had actually come into my home, verbally agreeing to evaluate my books and then get back to me. He looked at his laptop using my Wifi and said "I can work with this." They were completely undersold in auction. This negligence has essentially lost me hundreds of pounds in book value. Over a series of very unpleasant, rude and aggressive emails Evan from East Bristol Auctions made attempts of suggesting to me that they had tried to contact me in regard to my books via phone. They did not. As an elderly house bound disabled pensioner who is currently fighting breast cancer and attempting to make enough money to meet the massive energy price rises in April I feel as though I have been robbed. I very clearly and explicitly told Evan the value of the books which have been previously valued by an experienced book valuer in Hay-on-Wye. In the past I have indeed successfully sold jewellery on previous auctions run by this company, which have all now left a very bitter, hollow and unsavoury taste in my mouth. Evan has accepted no fault in this matter whatsoever. I contacted The Society of Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers to raise a complaint. They said that they were; "...not a regulatory body or a forum for dealing with complaints against members, each of whom is a business in their own right, with their own business practices and procedures." Be warned. Do not expect your books to be treated in a professional manner whatsoever. I now face the coming price hikes in April without the financial resources to meet it. I will never trust this auction house again. God help me.

I used East Bristol Auctions Ltd for a house clearance, and to sell a number of items from that house at auction. I received excellent service throughout and, given the right circumstances, would certainly use them again. Highly recommended!
