I feel so lucky! I had a great experience in the program. It’s been 2 years being an au pair and the time went so fast! I feel lucky because I found a wonderful family that made everything easier for me, helping and supporting me all the time. And also I had an amazing LCC that was there all the time for all the au pair group.

I was fortunate enough to have supportive LCCs who understood and could help me with any situation when i asked questions and needed advice. I would like to suggest for the agency to vet families more, even after they host an au pair. Yes, we are responsible to ask previous au pairs questions but they don't always tell the truth. Finding out how a family truly is when you already moved in with them is very very hard especially when you are still in first year! Otherwise i had an amazing experience, I learned a lot, traveled and grew stronger emotionally and mentally. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

I have an AMAZING host family who understand that program, I’m feel part of the family but I don’t feel like a mother to my host kids, and I’ve been learning how I’m blessed to have this on my whole experience! I’m having a truly American experience, and that’s why I’m great 😊

This is my second year as an Au Pair in Florida, and it’s the most beautiful experience of my life! I’ve met amazing people and visited breathtaking places. I’ve found a second family I will never forget. I’m grateful to the Cultural Care team, who have always supported me with anything before and after my departure. Without them, this experience wouldn’t have been possible.

I like the improvements that cultural care did for the app but something that is really comun and I don’t like is how some LCC doesn’t really care for the aupair and you don’t feel like you have someone who you can talk to in case of a discomfort. There are some areas that they don’t even have an LCC and that is really alarming because what would happen if there is an emergency situation?

My experience with Cultural Care au pair was amazing. I really enjoyed my stay in the U.S all thanks to the amazing family I got and our most loving LCC. I would definitely recommend a friend to also become an au pair with cultural care.

My experience was amazing thanks to the love and support of my Host Family, the incredible friends I made during my time in the US. And all the support and help I have from my LCC.

Cultural Care is the best agency that I could choose for this beautiful kind of experience! Through it, I have had the opportunity to know new people, create unbreakable bonds and discover new places all over the United States. Their assistance service, as well as the high competence of all the staff, has been the best that I could ever find so far.

It was a good experience but I feel this program needs more regulation

The company overall is well organized, it does become tough to contact someone but other than that it’s good

I really believe the program is very good, and you can have a wonderful experience. I’m currently with an incredible host family; I arrived last Monday. However, the rest of my experience as an au pair last year was really, really hard because the family was pretty mean to me and treated me just like an employee. They made me work long hours, more than 50 hours a week. They didn’t let me eat some of the food in the fridge. Sometimes, when they went on vacation, they made me take care of the dog. One time, they were going to Costa Rica, and they didn’t tell me anything; only my host kid told me the day before that they were leaving for vacation. I asked if, during those 4 days they’d be gone, I could eat some of the chicken or fish in the freezer (and since they were planning their vacation, they hadn’t bought food for the week). I also asked if I could buy some tomatoes and bananas, and their answer was that if I bought anything, I had to replace exactly what I ate so nothing would be missing from the freezer when they came back. Of course, they didn’t give me any card to pay for it, so I had to use my own money to buy food. I felt really disappointed in them. Also, when I asked for a rematch four months after I arrived, they wouldn’t let me do it, which was really, really hard for me because I was scared of my host mom. I got depressed, anxious, and they even took away the WiFi from my phone. They treated me so badly until I gave in and agreed to stay with them, which is why I didn’t leave until my second year. At some point, I tried to talk to them about how I was feeling, but they got really mad and started yelling at me. I agree that the cultural experience is so nice because right now, I’m having the best experience! But I think communication with au pairs and CCs should be improved, more than just with the LCC, to make sure everything is okay. That way, au pairs could get more support in these cases. Thank you!
