Pickup driver was very good. Explained everything
Everything was great! They made it very easy and gave me a reasonable price. Of course not as good as if I could have gotten sold myself, but for a hassle free/get it off my hands situation, it was great. They answered all my questions and were very responsive. No funny business regarding pricing at pickup or anything. The only issue was when I first was contacted by Copart (I believe it's still CarBrain or it's a third party that dispatches tow drivers) to schedule the pick up, the person told me typically people aren't there at pickup and I can leave the keys and title in the car. I asked if I could schedule a pickup time so I could be there and she said they can't schedule times. Understandable. Then she said they could call me when the driver is an hour away, but if I don't pickup the call, the driver won't show up.. Sounded odd to me so I asked if I could call back after discussing with my wife. She sounded surprised and irritated. I emailed my contact at CarBrain and told them the situation. I also asked how I receive payment if I'm not there at pickup. She told me that they usually cut the check and hand it to you at pickup. I was alarmed and told her I was told not be at the pickup and what the lady with Copart said. My CarBrain contact contacted the pickup place and arranged them to call me with a time frame. I missed that call of course but called back. Not sure if I got the same person or not, but they still were unable to give me a more specific time frame but offered to call when the driver is an hour out. She didn't mention the thing about missing the call and the driver not showing up so I felt a little better. I read stories about the drivers nickle and diming the offer down when they arrive and inspect however I did not experience that and I don't know how it would benefit them. It was a local tow truck company that must have taken the job from Copart who took the job from CarBrain.
