The Contemporary Magician, Lewis Joss is an expert ice-breaker, conversationalist and award-winning entertainer who uses magic to enlighten and captivate his audiences. Lewis started performing magic at the early age of 6 after being taught a few tricks from his Grandfather, he then became very interested in magic and used to ask for magic box sets for Christmas. Lewis then began performing magic to family and friends. At the age of 10 Lewis joined The Magic Circle’s Youth Initiative, The Young Magicians Club and at the age of just 18 became a Member of The Magic Circle. Lewis was also promoted to an Associate of The Inner Magic Circle with a Silver Star. Many years later, from experience of hundreds of shows, Lewis now performs all around the world on cruise ships, works with companies to promote their brands and performs for celebrities at private functions. Lewis has worked on T.V productions with the late Paul Daniels & Debbie McGee and has worked on productions for Channel 5 & Talkback Thames.
We booked Lewis to attend our Companies 40th Anniversary party on Sunday. He arrived on time and got straight to work. He was amazing and all our guests really enjoyed his performance. Lewis performed close-up magic at my 70th birthday party yesterday. He was wonderful, and so professional. Lewis performed at our Northants and Bucks Junior Lawyers Annual Ball and was fantastic. His magic was so impressive and he got into character dressed up as the Mad Hatter to fit into our Alice in Wonderland theme. It really made a special addition to the event and everyone was talking about it afterwards. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Lewis for any event - he was helpful and professional to deal with throughout.
I say high standard, but I do not know much about magic.. technically. However, I've seen a lot of magic on tv, and when you watch it on tv, you are sceptical about the tricks because they seem impossible, so you think the film is cut or it's faked by clever editing. Anyway, Lewis turned up at my table, so I was on to him like a rash.. being this my first time... I needed to see/test wether he was amateur or actual magician. He blew my mind, and entertained me and our table for about half hour with card tricks that are impossible. I was not drunk, and I watched every move he made, but every time his tricks were flawless! He dropped a few cards here/there with the table banter and showing off his shuffling skills.. but the actual tricks were soooo good (he has mad card skills)! They weren't simple tricks either... stuff that you see happening right in front of your eyes, whilst watching every move he makes, but some how.. magic, slight of hand, what ever it is.. he beats you every time, and it was awesome!!! It broke me. I'm so skeptical about this stuff, so I was on his case trying to catch him out... but he had me like a kipper. He has good craic with audience and picks up on everybody's banter, and then plays on it... and he has the last laugh!! He's fast, sharp, nice guy and I would not trust this man. Plus you don't forget an experience like it!
Lewis was booked for my daughters wedding, he was a great hit and was talk about for the rest of the night. Lewis turned up on time and well dressed and soon got on with preforming his magic. He started with the drinks reception and then worked the tables between courses, there was plenty of laughter as besides being good at his magic he had lots of friendly banter with the guest. I booked Lewis for a 13th birthday garden party. Lewis arrived in plenty of time and got straight to working his magic! He left 60 x 13 year olds and all the adults completely amazed. Lewis appeared at our Christmas party, a mixed audience of parents and children, totally around 100. He came totally prepared, setup without any fuss. Firstly, he did some closeup magic for the adults, it seems impossible that being so close you would not be able to see how he might join and separate rings - but he is superb. He worked the room superbly. Then a magic show for the kids, they loved it ! - without exception. And then finally some balloon modelling so every one had something to go home with. A very accomplished professional, would recommend him without reservation. He also happens to a splendid fellow.
We booked Lewis to entertain the guests at my father's 80th birthday party having found his details online and clearly - despite many positive reviews - we were apprehensive with no first hand experience to go on. Fortunately our fears were totally unnecessary. Lewis turned up on time and was a consummate professional, moving round the tables and entertaining guests with ages ranging from a few years to a few decades! His act was both entertaining, impossible to decipher and really fun and entertaining. Afterwards we received many positive comments and a lot of praise. To ensure everyone got to see him, Lewis over-ran his time without any suggestion of clock watching. We would definitely book him again!
The ultimate professional, Lewis kept a group of sugar-high and extremely excited Halloween children highly entertained and amused. He coped very well with the tardy arrival of guests, who all seemed to be running late. The kids (& adults!) loved the magic tricks and all the games - and the conga that suddenly snaked it's way through the kitchen was hilarious. We had a mixture of ages, from about 4 to 11 and that certainly wasn't an issue for Lewis. I can't wait to book again! I might give the grown ups their turn next time! Lewis was a 'guest' at my 50th birthday Vegas Casino Party - he rocked! He mingled with my adult audience, cleverly gauging peoples sense of humour and had all enthralled. Clever slight of hand with charming banter...what a smoothy. Cute too, I've been told, by many of the ladies. We also got treated to some unplanned/unexpected harmless hypnosis; willing participants, not made to do anything untoward. Don't think twice about booking this lovely fella, you won't be disappointed in any way!
What can I say about Lewis? He performed at my daughter's 5th birthday party and kept 25 5-year old girls brilliantly entertained for an hour - no mean feat! He then performed again at my 40th party (a very different style obviously) and worked the room really superbly. I've had loads of positive feedback since and would not hesitate to recommend him. Excellent performer, great value for money and will add that little extra to any event.
