Great products for my 9 year old dog. She enjoys the fish skin flatties, expects one after her long walk every day, and also has various fishy treats. Her dental health has greatly improved since she started having these. I also give her the salmon oil daily on her food. At her last vet check they were impressed with her teeth and general health and I am sure the Skipper’s products have contributed to this. They are excellent value and I now have a monthly subscription, which can be amended if necessary. I highly recommend the company and the products.

I have bought my dogs a few boxes from skippers and they love them. A disaster before xmas - the RM delivered a box damaged by vermin. An email to Skippers resolved the problem the same day. Excellent customer service.

On May 3rd 2024, I purchased a 1kg pack of Skippers small fish skin cubes costing £27.99. Had I noticed the small, faint print stating ‘May contain bones’ I would definitely NOT have purchased them. I learned the hard way with my dog nearly choking on one of the cubes due to finding several bones in it. Thankfully, he spat most of it out. I have photos of said bones. In one cube I found 7 hard, unbreakable, ‘needle-like’ bones and many more in other cubes in the same bag. The product states 100% fish skins. This statement is untrue and misleading. Bones are not fish skin. The fact that so many bones ended up in a fish skin product is concerning and can only be down to a lack of effective quality control. I know 2 other people within a 3 mile radius of my address who have experienced the same issue with this product, so this is not uncommon or an isolated incident. I have wasted £27.99. The nearly full packet will be put in the food waste bin as I deem the contents unsafe for a dog to consume. Update 1 - after contacting Skippers, they have stated that they will refund me via the retailer I purchased from, if the retailer agrees. Update 2 - The refund has now been processed (31 May 2024). Skipper’s customer care has been very good (Adam) but I’m afraid I have no confidence in their products after this experience.
Placed a large order several weeks ago and have yet to receive either an email or the order from them. I have an email from Skipper's acknowledging receipt of my order, a PayPal receipt confirming payment. I have called four times, left messages each time for a call back, gave order number and details regarding my order. I even left an email inquiry. Nothing. I would love to resolve this matter, but despite my efforts to do so, I just cannot seem to contact this company. I responded to their response (below) by telephone on May 8th and 9th, 2024. I cannot amend my review. I don't know why they won't call me back. I just lost one of my dogs and a friend gave my other, grieving dog a bag of these treats. She loved them. So, I ordered more as well as some for a friend who just rescued a dog. It's too late to receive these now -- plus I don't trust this company anymore. I think it exists, but not as a mail order company. Too bad, my girl really liked the treats. She is so unhappy and I would try anything to cheer her up. I just can't change my review. If only a staff member would answer their phone or pick it up, retrieve messages and call me back. Actions speak volumes.
