Few suppliers of hospitality products go back as far as Samuel Groves. This venerable Birmingham-based manufacturer of kitchen equipment started in 1817. The big take-off into hospitality supply came during the Second World War when Samuel Groves won a major government contract to produce aluminium trays, with many other items for the Ministry of Works and the War Office being added soon after. This helped reinforce the foundations of the modern business, which gained a major boost from the introduction of the Mermaid brand at the beginning of the 1950s. Samuel Groves encompasses all facets of manufacturing including Metal Cutting, Presswork, Metal Spinning, Welding, Fabrication and Injection Moulding. In addition, we are able to design and manufacture our own tooling in house. Even though the market and indeed cooking practices have evolved over the years, Samuel Groves quality and processes have improved. We remain traditional manufacturers and every product we are proud to say is still hand-finished. We have been a manufacturer in Birmingham for close to 200 years, some of the skills that will be used in the factory today will have been used all throughout those 200 years. Every range produced at our factory, we believe is the best you can buy, whether that’s our robust stainless steel 3-ply cookware, or timeless Mermaid anodised bakeware.
From manufacture to delivery took longer than expected but was within the 20 day period that was advised. The quality of the pans is excellent and as a cook and foodie I'm really pleased with the performance - quick even heat distribution - and stylish too!

Very nice frying pan, really impressed so far with its heat distribution and build quality. Delivery was estimated at 28 days but it arrived in about 10.
As a keen cook I have used many makes of cookware and I have to say these are the best pans I have owned. Moreover they are made in England using local raw materials. They distribute heat very well which aids in cooking quicker. I have also ordered more to add to my collection. I have no qualms on recommending Samuel Groves. Customer service is outstanding. I had a minor issue with a gift card which was swiftly sorted.

I wrote a review with one star, as I ordered my copper frying pan on 7th January and was advised it had been dispatched on 26th January. However this did not arrive and after failed attempts to speak to customer services. Eventually got through to a very helpful adviser named Ryan, who took my query on personally and has contacted me to update me on my order and arrival. I felt Ryan gave excellent customer service in this matter.
Quick delivery and a very well made baking sheet that looks as though it will last longer than me.
We'd been after getting a new frying pan and wanted to avoid non-stick, also wanted to avoid buying from China, and had been very pleased with a very small cast pan so we bit the cost bullet, paid way more than we'd ever paid before, but WHAT A GOOD DECISION! Solidly made, properly impressive, after oil-soaking it cooks SO well, and it's Made In Britain by a very efficient company that we'll certainly buy from again.

My new pan is a thing of beauty. It's the most expensive pan I've ever bought but I think I'll use it about 4 or 5 times a week and for something that will get that much use it's worth going for quality!

I was fed up with spending money on pans that failed to meet my expectations, so I did some research and was delighted to find a long-established UK company with a ‘pan for life’ philosophy. Who would have thought you could get your pans refurbed?!? 🤷🏼♀️ My questions were answered promptly and knowledgeably, delivery was swift, a minor hiccup resolved quickly and efficiently, and my frying pan is great. I will be back for more and just wish I’d found Samuel Groves sooner!

Just received the saute pan after buying the 20cm pan and lid previously. Stunning good looks and workmanship is incredible. Looking forward to first use, but appreciate the before and after care might take some effort.
