Hotspot Shield is easy to use, has a good free version, and a better paid version, and is really handy for both privacy and getting round regional restrictions (e.g. Hulu). I've tried the program on both Mac OSX and Windows 7 & 8, and all three have had a great experience with the application. I've been using Hotspot Shield for a couple of years now and it is probably one of my favorite programs on the PC. Not only does it make sure I browse the web securely, but it also unlocks websites that may otherwise have been blocked in my region. Sometimes ISPs block websites like YouTube but Hotspot Shield makes it easy to bypass this and access content on the website. Sometimes when I'm travelling the content I am used to having access to is also not available in the region, Hotspot Shield makes it easy to get access back. The program is completely free too! Sure there are advertisements with the free version, but for as little as £3 a month, I can upgrade to the elite version and access it on all of my devices. Hotspot Shield on iOS also has a very neat feature that allows you to browse the web faster by compressing pages - which is perfect if you're on your mobile data plan! The support is great as well. Overall superb software, highly recommended.
