I'm really pleased that there is an excellent specialist paint shop in Swindon, where I can pick up preordered products rather than have them sent in the post. Very knowledgable, helpful, staff. I used Satin Polyvine HD Extreme Varnish to waterproof a veneered wing of a radio control glider. Very easy to apply to a smooth finish. Certainly, it provides a very tough finish and I am pleased with the natural finish of the veneer. However, it is certainly not the lightest varnish for this application.

DONT USE HOLMAN SPECIALIST PAINTS. ordered paints, which they have delivered to the wrong address. 2.5 hours away. there resolution to the problem.... none. now I have to bare the cost of their mistake and go to collect it, as they refused to refund. customer service level 0. Trade customer
I’m a DIYer not a tradesman and I’ve used Holman Paints to get a high quality paint to match Laura Ashley colours for painting both furniture and walls. Very successfully too. Not cheap but reliable.
