My wife told me she heard a "clank!" when leaving to work and closing the garage door. When I came home from work, I called a few local garage door repair companies and they sent out a technician. He ended up quoting me over $400 saying the torsion spring is broken. I jumped online and did some searching and found garage door nation and watched their tutorial videos on youtube which were awesome. I had a few questions before ordering and emailed in. I got my answers back almost instantly and placed my order. My kit delivered in about 3 days and I was able to fix my garage in less than 15 minutes. I saved over $300 and it was much easier to do by myself than others make it out to be. I highly recommend Garage door Nation and give them an A+ rating.
I hope that this review is for the right company. It is difficult to determine for sure because they use so many different company names and email addresses that it's just about impossible to figure out the actual name of the company (which I am quite sure is by design). On the invoice and in various communications they are listed as "Garage Door and Gate Services" "garagedoorandgaterepairok @ gmail.com", "Garage Door Nation", and "Cali Garage Repair" and use several different phone numbers including 888-676-2896, 662-767-7811, and 805-886-5043 We had a gate keypad that worked but was sometimes temperamental so we contacted this company to replace it. Nick sold us a new post and keypad system for $1250 and told us that two remote controls were included with the sale, The installer (Wilber) came to do the replacement on November 8, 2022 and we asked him when he finished the work if he had the remote controls. He said that he did not have them with him but would have someone contact us. We never heard anything back so on November 16 we contacted Nick, the original salesperson with the following texts "Hi Nick, we are happy with the gate replacement. You had said you could get us a few remote controllers. We would really appreciate that when you have time." He responded "Hey, how many do you need?' and we said "Two would be great". Nick never brought us our controllers and over the next 6 months we continued to contact him about them, but our texts were never acknowledged. Without the gate remotes we can not close the gate because to leave the driveway we can not reach the keypad to open it. So. for all intents and purposes we no longer have a usable gate on our property. We called the main company line after months and months of no repsonse from Nick and someone (Amir Osipenko?) claiming to be the owner called us back. He said that no remotes were included in the $1250 install and unless we could show where they were on the invoice he would not be providing them. We told him that we had direct communication from his salesman both before and after the install that remotes were included, but he claims that Nick no longer works there. Whether or not Nick still works there, this man was calling us from "Nick's" phone and could easily see the text messages between us himself. He was rude and condescending, insisting that unless we could show remotes on the invoice that we were not due them and then he hung up on us. Prior to them coming we had a gate that worked perfectly well with the existing remotes we had, but the keypad did not work very well and the code had to be entered several times for it to work. Now we have spent $1250 for a box and keypad that makes our gate completely unusable. This company is a scam and does not follow through on the promises made by their own employees IN WRITING. The very fact that they apparently operate under 4 different company names should scare off anyone considering using them immediately.
This is Exellent service..
Un Be Lievable service! This company is unreal in terms of pre-sale assistance. Quality instruction and information on which springs to buy. Extremely fast shipping since product was made to order - received in less than one week from order to delivery *including over a weekend. Post-sales question answered promptly. Their online how-to videos are detailed, thorough and very helpful. Excellent customer service. Literally will never use anyone else for these parts! Warren- Blaine, TN
Had a shipping nightmare. Springs were taking much longer than they originally said. They communicated through every step. They ended up sending me the springs for free. I expected maybe a discount or and upgrade on springs. I think they did best possible job in a tough situation. I appreciate the communication and the refund and the free springs. Major props.
Don't waist your time or money. They will run you around in circles doing different things to try and get your order. And then when she finally get everything right they'll just cancel it and refuse to ship you what you ordered. Avoid them!
I was have wanted to swap my extension springs over to torsion springs for a few years now, but was a bit hesitant to do it myself until I found Garage Door Nation. I watched several of their videos online and got comfortable with the process. When I went to place the order, the owner contacted me directly and helped make sure I got everything I needed for the weight of my door. He was super knowledgeable and the pricing was more than fair. Shipping was also much faster than I was anticipating. I would not consider going elsewhere for garage for parts.
Knowledgeable and helpful
BUYER BEWARE: TRAGIC LACK OF INTEGRITY WHEN THINGS GO WRONG - NO RETURNS AND THEY STUCK ME FOR $120 WITH THE WRONG SPRINGS I have a 7' two car garage with two different springs that work fine but time to change; a 24" & 30" long both 2" and 0.243 wire. GDN's online calculator claimed that two 35" long of .250 x 1.75" were equivalent at $120 to me. Arrived but when installed they were far too strong and now I need to buy the proper set. DO NOT BUY FROM A MANUFACTURER THAT DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT
Fast Shipping & quality parts. Ordered some hinges and rollers on a friday, arrived the next tuesday.
The items were delivered after I canceled the order before delivery and before anyone could possibly make the springs, I placed the order on Christmas Day and called at 10am the next morning. Call again to confirm cancel after receiving an email about the product being prepared for shipment, and the salesman confirmed the order was canceled. I received the now unneeded product and now no one will respond to emails or answer calls. Email Sent: 3 times to service department and voicemail for the service department goes to voicemail box is full. "On Christmas Day my garage door spring broke, what a day to have them break. I ordered via your online ordering system, which was great. On the following morning, I contacted a local repairman and he had the springs in stock and was able to replace them immediately. I called back 877-751-2929 at 10:10 am and spoke to someone in the sales department asking to cancel the order made on Christmas day and he asked me to call him back at 706-761-3161 and I did at 10:13 am. He stated no problem and would cancel the order and stated that he told his supervisor. At around 1:22 pm on 12/26, I received an email about GDN preparing the item to be shipped, so I called 706-761-3161 and notified him of the email, and he stated that it was just an automated email and that he assured me the order was canceled. Yesterday I received the two packages (Order #22447) from UPS and will return today to UPS as refused. I am just sending this note so the funds are returned. Thank you and have a good day. My cell number is (X) with any questions."
I think this company has gone under. They don't answer phone or email. I bought springs from them the red and black marks where wrong. Caused me a lot of time. Finally with the help of a local door repair mam he confirmed the spring where missed mark.
I wish I would have searched these reviews before ordering. I ordered from them because they were the only place that advertised converting from one spring to two, which is what I wanted to do. They had me send pictures and measurements. I even weighed the door. The kit came but the springs were not correct. They didn't even have the end cones on them! Who sends out garage door springs without the cones? Useless. Now, as with others have stated, they will not return my calls, emails or text messages. I ended up buying a single spring from elsewhere. So, I got a couple bearings and a couple cables along with two useless springs for $150. Plus, I had to spend another $75 on the single spring. I will not be recommending these guys to anyone.
Excellent service, customer rep on phone was very pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable.. found the parts that I needed right away.
After wasting the great YouTube videos on how to replace garage door torsion springs I felt indebted to order from this website. Very easy to place my order and the price was right. Thanks!
I knew exactly the size of springs that I needed so ordering was a breeze, the parts came as promised and definitely would order again.
I ordered over the phone (Jonathan actually took my order). Received my set of new torsion springs in 3 days. Great service.
I was shopping for garage door torsion springs and did some research, after days of recon I found theses guys on YouTube. I even called and they walked me through what I needed and I placed my order, came in 2 days (to Columbus OH)
The gentleman I spoke with (Tommy) was extremely helpful. He helped me resize my springs to get longer life out of them and let me know how many times to wind. I spent quite a bit less than I would have at a local garage door company.
After my springs broke I got a quote for over 400$ for a garage door repair company to replace my torsion springs. I couldn't afford that at the time so I went looking for other options. I got the exact same springs that the local company was going to provide delivered with cables and winding bars for a little over 150$. Took me an hour to install so saved me over 200$.
