I loved how easy Fractory made it for me to get the parts. I am not too savvy with locating the right work shops - especially when they ask technical questions! but Fractory took away this headache. The lead time met my expectations and the price was very reasonable. I have already recommended them and I will sure be back for my next project.
Absolutly terrible experience. Product wouldnt instantly quote. Submitted for manual quote. Was told on the phone by a very unhelpful arogant sales person that they canot manually quote as we don't spend over £2k a year. Avoid company at all costs.
At this point very disappointed. Largish order 2500 gbp value, was cut late past due date, order was damaged when ready to ship, we are now 2 weeks past that date still no update. We are now over 30 days since order. Management and customer complaints seems to have no robust systems. We are pushing for the parts to be sorted but this is well worse than local suppliers. Seem ridiculous as this is a standard monthly order we make from a local supplier but factory quoted cheaper and faster leads so we went will them as a test.
Great! Very good!
Just ordered some sheet-metal parts. I had tight deadlines for the projects and their online quoting tool gave OK prices and said it was manufacturable with their tools. One week later they just canceled my order and told me "they could not do it". My clients are pissed at me and I'm pissed. The idea of the service is nice, but their online parts analyzer is crap. Works only if you make very simple flat parts. It cannot handle complex geometry.
I recently had something made by Fractory. Order arrived on time, correct quantities, all painted fine. But It was about 4x bigger than It was supposed to be. On investigation I realised that the DXF I sent had been scaled, therefore I'd ordered these huge steel parts which were obviously very expensive. My mistake, so I needed to order again. So I contact Fractory to see if I can get a discount off the replacement order. After all, they've already got my money from the first order, which was much more expensive than it should have been due to the scale of the parts. I was very surprised when they came back and wouldn't offer any discount at all. Considering they already have my money from the first order, and I want to order again. I just find that really bad customer service. Yes they delivered on the order I sent using my DXF, but now they had zero interest in getting my next order or keeping me as a customer. Ultimately, they don't care about customer retention. You'll get what you order, but forget forming a relationship with this company because your business doesn't matter to them. EDIT: Fractory contacted me off the back of this review and did then try to do something and offer a discount - sadly they could only do 11% off the next order which didn't seem like much. It appears that they don't produce the goods themselves so don't have many options to offer discounts.
I've got really good experience with Fractory, their technical support has been really good and they answer my emails really fast. Our shop is located in Finland and their sales rep was in Estonia and everything has went smoothly over 1 and have year now
3 Orders Made, all 3 orders have issues. Latest being waiting well over a month due to Delays they don't tell you about (i had to chase up twice). Delivery then arrives late with parts missing... I contact the sales rep who tells me to email a different department. The new department then says they need to investigate and it will be sorted ASAP, however they then dont get back to me for another week... i have to chase yet again! They reply that they have lost the parts and need to remake... Another week goes past! I contact again this morning, only to be old the items will be cut at the end of the week, then shipped out (so another 2 weeks). I dont think nearly two months from ordering to delivery is in full is reasonable... especially when its only 2 parts out of 90+ that are missing. AWFUL customer service from start to finish on a £700 order. Seriously will be looking at a local company in the future - dont waste your time with these guys!
First time ordering products trough Fractory. My experiance was very good. It is next level digitalize service. I reccomend!
Website is easy to use, had a couple of good orders with them, when it works it's great. Unfortunately if the part you are making is too complex for the system - which is quite a low threshold, in my case a metal tube milled to accept bearings either end - they won't deal with you unless you're a big company. For me, after putting in a quote request, I had to call with one of their guys, who then emailed me back later saying I was only suitable for their "self serve" platform. Their decision, but it does mean the site is not as universal as they make out. And kinda wasted my time.
Create a step file (majority of the pain). Upload it, validate parameters, get price, pay and ... go have a coffee. We have been creating montage plates for enclosures ourselves (with drilling etc.), and I'm pretty certain I won't do that again if we can get things with very high tolerances cut to exact measures. Awesome.
Super good solution and easy ordering! Delivery times could be shorter.
I've had mixed experiences using Fractory. Laser cut parts are usually fine, but I've had to send back parts due to poor packaging, and some parts are not flat enough so allow for a degree of wastage when placing an order. My first CNC order is proving very frustrating. Delivery has been delayed by over two weeks and counting, and I am likely going to have to leave my own customers without fulfilled orders due to this delay. I ordered the parts on a standard delivery time which claims to be produced in the UK, yet the parts have been produced in China, resulting in customs delays, and I consider this to false advertising if not a breach of contract. I've suggested the parts could be remade in the UK to meet their promise, but this has fallen on deaf ears.
Ordering process is made easy and straight-forward.
Delivers nicely done pieces.
Worked with Connor in the CNC department to have a few parts made before the release of a new product. Connor has been extremely helpful from the very start, couldnt ask for more. Thanks!
It is such an hassle to get some company with a laser capable of cutting metal to bother even talking to you if you need just a few pieces done. Factory.com just works and, the best part, you do not even have to talk to a human if you know what you are doing! You can upload your parts, get immediate price offer and if that is acceptable you just pay and get your stuff a week later. Fast, convenient and it just works!
Excellant website giving an instant quote for small orders. Very prompt and helpfull service from my contact.
First time using this service. Part came out nice and to spec. Good customer service over the phone.
Very straightforward quote and ordering process.
