I picked up a small pot of Tree Bark Powder at The Dog House in Horsham as it was recommended by their wonderful staff to assist with the digestive issues being experienced by our malnourished rescue puppy girl Lucky. Lucky had been removed from her mother at only five weeks and then fed a very poor diet. When we privately rescued Lucky, (as we renamed her after a fortuitous chance encounter), she was underweight with diarrhoea and in a shabby condition. Our vet had warned us that although her vital organs appeared healthy, Lucky’s digestive system was weak and may need supporting with pre & probiotics and should be fed as if still a young puppy with white boiled rice and lightly cooked chicken etc (it was difficult for her to be aged by the vet given her weight (15kg) but it was felt (& later discovered to be true) that she was 8 months old, and should have been almost twice her weight. After a positive start, Lucky started to gain weight but still suffered with diarrhoea. The Dog House staff suggested Dorwest’s Tree Bark Powder might naturally help to slow down Lucky’s digestive system and enable more water to be absorbed to firm-up her stools. I made the powder into a warm gravy and poured it on top of her food - it worked brilliantly and almost immediately! Ever since, I’ve fed Lucky with the recommended daily amount, split between her morning breakfast and evening dinner. (Initially, I doubled the dose, as per Dorwest’s recommendation, and then reduce it down to the standard dose). We’ve been using it for two months now and Lucky is now thriving and has now reached her ideal weight. Our vet is happy for now for us to continue using the Tree Bark Powder with a view to gradually start reducing Lucky’s dose shortly. Having guardianed dogs all my life, I 100% recommend this product to any dog lover who’s looking for a natural remedy for their Bestie! Excellent products and reasonable delivery. However the product that came in a tub is devilish difficult to open. The plastic tear off strip left too much material clinging to the lid. I had to shave some more off to get it open.

For health reasons, my saluki girl had a lap spay at age 8.5yrs. But I had no idea that her tendency to false pregnancies, with all the wretched symptoms, might reoccur. Previously, these had been efficiently mitigated by Dorwest raspberry leaf tablets. But with the spay, I could have no idea when to start giving them, since there is of course no show of blood. I thought to try and calculate from her final season, but the most uncomfortable symptom of her first false pregnancy since the spay - inflamed and itching undercarriage and swollen nipples - dragged on for over five months (apparently the symptoms can become persistent), and nothing I tried was helping in the slightest. So I finally decided to simply go for the raspberry leaf tablets at the recommended dosage. Within a week, her skin has returned to normal and the nipples are shrinking and she isn't scratching at all, and is clearly much happier and more energised. It's like a miracle! Thanks yet again, Dorwest.
