Really good programme to lose weight quickly and tackle diabetes, I strongly recommend. I had an incredible 27kg weight loss in just under 3 months, not feeling hungry with the 4 meal replacement a day. I’ve received great support from Mayuri throughout the journey and Carlotta whilst she was absent. Very satisfied with the results although I was sceptic at the beginning. Thank you
This programme has literally changed my life for the better!! I was funded by the NHS for the diet replacement and one to one support from a qualified dietitian. I’m still half way through the year process. I’ve lost a lot of weight and I’m continuing to do so. Not only targeting weight loss but also vastly lowering my HbA1c and I’ve also been able to reduce or eliminate some medication from my daily routine. Medication that I thought I would need for life. I am obviously immensely grateful to the NHS for having the courage to fund this scheme but the thing that makes this work is the ability and skills of the dietitians that support you during the journey. They are key to the success for the individual. My dietitian, Mayuri is quite simply wonderful, knowledgeable, easy to talk to and so supportive and encouraging. I can’t ever thank her enough. I also had support during Mayuri holiday period from Bjorn who again was absolutely fantastic. Dare I say that both were amazing and I felt more comfortable with them than anyone from my local GP. Of course it does go without saying that as a patient you have to be willing to follow the plan but if you do, then you will have success.
I am very impressed with the program. It’s hard work but with the support and encouragement of Jeaninne, I have lost 17 kg and most importantly my blood sugar has consistently in the normal range for almost 10 weeks. There has also been the increase of understanding about how to maintain and manage a healthy diet for my future.
The counterweight programme is tough but it works! The support I received from my dietitian Bjorn, was incredible and I cannot thank him enough for his guidance and advice.
Iv struggled with weight loss for many years I started 01/01/23 and managed to lose 9kg my diabetes was a problem and i started to gain weight I spoke to my Dr who got me on the counterweight program I was sceptical my coach was Amelia she explained how it works the food was very filling I struggled with 800 calories but I lost a further 4kg fantastic my BP / BG are back to normal my hbs1c was 134 now its 50 Amelia has been helpful through out my diet so a big thank you to Her 😊
I am completing my first 12 weeks and this has really changed my mind about my eating habits.. And manage to lose weight !! Amelia is a great nutritionist, very supportive, clear on the explanations and suggestions and I am very lucky to have her helping me along this program..

The counterweight program has been amazing, although it's my 4th week into the program, already feeling amazing, lost almost 6kg already. Thanks to my Dietician Mayuri who has been so supportive and responded so promptly to any of my concerns/questions.
Just had my first group meeting and I am feeling positive!! The support and not feeling alone in my struggles is priceless. I disagree with the reviews about them trying to sell diet products as they have not even been mentioned. The focus is on healthy eating and psychological support. I guess the meal replacements are there as an option for those who struggle with meal planning etc and yes whilst processed products I think being manufactured to contain the nutrients you require and containing probably a lot less bad stuff than the diet most of us currently eat it’s the lesser of two evils!

Brilliant system. Four shakes or soups a day. Amazingly you don’t feel hungry. I lost a stone in the first month. Very impressed. Quality food with all the nutrients you need (probably more than when I was eating pizza, pastys and sandwiches)! Reasonable selection of choices and fast shipping.
How dare the NHS and GPs get together with a company and pass on their patients to a company to get us to buy products and pay monthly fees to lose weight! That is the oldest trick in the book! How can they do that to people, then we support financially many companies and services out there that are absolutely useless and fictitious just so the NHS says they are doing something to help people loose weight! How shocking and absolutely despicable to enrol on something that I was completely unaware of and they got all my personal details before they tell me it’s an app called Counterweight where you buy powered meals and cups and pots and pay monthly fees! Just like the old Herbalife! What a tragedy!
CounterWeight is based on the principle of the ‘Eat Less’ approach to weight loss which has long been debunked - it does not work in the long term. If you follow a very low calorie diet such as CW, then you will drop your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). It means that you will have to cut back your calorie intake by a third for the rest of your life to prevent weight regain. Think about that for a moment - a third of your calorie intake for life! Was this explain to you in the small print before you signed up to CW? Most people would not be prepared to do such a thing. As a side issue, calories measure 'energy' not food - Google Zoe Harcombe and watch her YouTube videos. If you are on CW then you will also be consuming ultra processed powder which is not good for your immune system and overall health. In addition, with the ‘total meal replacement’ plan, your total daily carb intake will be whopping 80g! Dietary advice is constantly changing and at a rapid rate as new scientific evidence is discovered and conventional ‘wisdom’ challenged - it is difficult to keep abreast sometimes. The dreadful advice trotted out by dieticians needs to be ignored - they actually know nothing! If you have Diabetes Type 2 and truly want to make changes to your health, then I would suggest that you follow a Carnivorous diet. Our bodies were designed to eat a specific food… MEAT! A Ketogenic is better than nothing but if you go veggie/vegan you will suffer from malnutrition and develop all sorts of vague health issues in the future. Eating carnivore means you will be full - no more diets! Cut out carbs and sugar (obviously!) completely - you do not need either to survive. Avoid processed foods. Give intermittent fasting a go. Reduce your alcohol intake to occasional or quit completely. If you have any kind of inflammation caused by autoimmunity, then consider giving up diary - egg yokes should be ok but whites not so much. Avoid fruit and vegetables and seed oils as they causes ‘leaky gut’ in the body. Do your own research online, educate yourself about T2D, and read about nutritional science from reliable sources. The uncomfortable truth is that the food industry and big pharma want to make you sick and keep you sick for profit. I know that sounds crazy but honestly, once you start digging and find the ‘hard evidence’ you will be shocked at all the lies we have been told about health and nutrition over the decades. I was absolutely astounded! Fatty red meat like beef and lamb (ruminating mammals) are the most nutritious. Plants are not - they want to survive like all living things and have evolved defensive mechanisms to avoid being eaten, they cannot run away or fight unlike animals. Dietary cholesterol eaten and has a minimal effect on blood cholesterol - our liver actually produces it and 25% of it is stored in the brain! Avoid statins, the absolute worst! Oh, and we do not need fibre in our diets - you will go when you need to go! I found CW to be a complete money-making enterprise which was expensive and ultimately unhelpful, even damaging to my health. I learnt more about TD2 and nutritional advice from the likes of Professor Tim Noakes, Dr Anthony Chaffee, Phil Escott, Dr Shaun Baker, Zoe Harcombe, Dr Jason Fung, Dr Sarah Myhill, to name but a few - some of these nutritional experts are inspiring people and have first-hand experience of TD2. You can find them on YouTube and various podcasts that are freely available online. On more specific issues with the self-funded CW programme, be mindful that once you sign up you are locked in. I was charged for an extra month even though I had requested to leave. Please read the terms and conditions of the programme very, very carefully before you commit! In addition, I had to chase CW to get a refund on ‘products’ I returned. I did not find the dietician’s ‘coaching’ sessions helpful in the slightest - he said very little during our phone conversation which were filled with silences. Probably a blessing given his knowledge base! Be open-minded, informed and curious, and start your journey to better health. Be aware that you may disappear down several rabbit holes along the way! Results will not be instant. Learn to listen to your body - it is truly amazing! Test out to discover what works for you.
I can honestly say that my counterweight weight loss journey has been amazing. I was part of the trial for people suffering with the effects of long covid through NHS. I started my CW journey with Bjorn a year ago. I was fortunate that I didn't have too much weight to lose, but I still managed to lose just over 2 stone. With the support from Bjorn, I have maintained my weight loss. I have found that during my journey with CW, using the tools provided, I was able to focus on my goals, it gave me a purpose where long covid didn't. Long covid has taken so much away from me, including my work identity, I had no control over that. But CW gave me the ability to control what mattered to me most, and that was not gaining further weight due to not being able to do what I used to do, which was go on massive hikes up mountains! I'm forever grateful for being able to be a part of the CW loss journey, for the support from Bjorn and most of all, for not losing sight of my goal. Nemaste :)

I've been getting support from Counterweight for the last year. Bjorn has been an amazing support throughout my weight loss journey, I spoke to him every two weeks for guidance, support and encouragement. I never felt judged no matter what kind of week I had been having. The whole experience was positive and it has given me tips for life in general not just about weight loss but confidence and acceptance - I felt treated as an individual - taking into account my individual situation and it's implications on my weight loss journey. I cannot recommend Counterweight's support enough they are a great team!
I received regular advice from Veronica as part of a glucose monitoring study. I found her to be very friendly during our video calls. In addition, she provided me with great practical advice that I was able to incorporate into my daily life, resulting in weight loss and significant improvements to my blood glucose levels. I would thoroughly recommend Veronica.
I have just completed 12 months on the program,I have lost 25kg ,I did the 13 weeks meal replacement, yes it was hard but talking to the consultants every 2-4 weeks and seeing the weight come of made me want to keep going, I have been a yo-yo dieter for many years and this diet combined with a new way of eating is the first thing that’s worked I would 100% recommend counter weight thank you
