I really don't understand all the fuss on this review site, I had already sent off my iPhone and i just thought I'd do a bit of research on the company whilst I was waiting for my money - the reviews on this site really put me on edge! I had already read all of the terms and conditions and the about our service section so i thought i knew what to expect. Everything went fine, my phone got a bit knocked off the original price because of a dent on the frame which i expected so all in all I'm a happy customer. Thanks Bozowi.
Cash in a flash is the best way to describe my experience, sent my handset in by special delivery and ask I had opted for the same day payment I got the cash cleared in my account. :-) Got £200 for my old iphone, yipee roll on weekend me getting seriously drunk me thinks Need cash fast use these guys Happy Days
I was attracted to this company because they offered me a good 20% more than any of the other providers. After sending off my none working phones I started reading all the negative reviews so resided myself to the fact that this was a cowboy firm that would rip me off. To my surprise they delivered on all areas. They emailed me at every stage, did not reduce my offer and paid me promptly without any problems. In fact the whole process from start to finish took less than 2 weeks. I am a big on line shopper and have been for many year but I have never written a review for free. I say for free because I am a mystery shopper so I know the difference between good and bad service. I decided to make the exception and write this review to give some sort sort of balance. I'm not disputing that some people may have had genuinely bad service but I did not. I would happily recommend this company.
Received prepaid envelope day after I placed order. Received an email a couple of days later to offer a revised price due to a crack on the screen which i knew about, after a few calls back and forth I managed to get a little bit more money than the downgraded price. Other than a cranky customer services rep on my initial call all other reps I spoke to were polite and knowledgeable. All in all a pleasant enough experience. Will be sending in more phones in the future.
my son looked up the best price for his IPhone 4s and this company came top. sent the phone off, and when we called them to find out what was going on, we were told it can to up to 15 days before the get a chance to looke at the phone, a few days later my son called again and was told the phone is know worth £110 not the £230 stated due to water damage, which i find hard to beleive as the phone is only 2 months old. spoke with a lady called Raj who told me that we had to go onto the system and cancell the order, which we did, that was last Tuesday, today we call them again only to be told that payment has been sent to my account for £110, after a long chat Raj told me that she would give me their account details so that i could put the money backm into their account. when i aske her the account number they had sent the money to see then told me it was a cheque has been sent out. asked if i could speak to a manager and she would not put me through, asked if any body regulates them and Raj refused to answer. the up shot is that my son has had phone for nearly 3 weeks and to top it all off they want £10 of me so they can sebd the phone back. PLEASE do NOT use this company they are the shocking...
Sent in my phone, they claim it took three weeks to arrive. Now they say it has been used even though it was brand new and had never had been touched. They now say that if I want my money now I have to pay 15 pounds. The promise on their website was 132 pounds, they now say they will pay just 82 pounds or if I want my phone back it will cost me 10 pounds. They are liars and cheats
Got to this company through a mobile phone recycling comparison website. The site showed a value of £42 for working Samsung Galaxy and no reduction in value for cosmetic damage. Sent phone off, was then advised that value reduced to £27 due to light cosmetic imperfections. I queried this and referred to the comparison site, so was asked to provide details of that site. Although Bozowi stated that it was a fault with the comparison site they did reinstate the value and paid what had been promised. I'd had to send screenshots to show them. Customer service was pretty good considering. My query was dealt with quickly and politely by Raj.
Mobile phone of less than 1 month old sent in. Valued at around £10 which was bad enough but then had an email to say it failed testing as it was locked to a network! Like most I would imagine. They then said it would be worth £5.50 and if I didn't want it £5.00 to send the mobile back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. ABSOLUTE COWBOYS!!!!!!
sold non working samsung galaxy note for £70,then got email saying that engineers had valued it at £15!!! and if i want it returned it would cost £10!! totally unacceptable! very misleading, scamming company!!!
I recently sent my Blackberry Curve 9300 off to Bozowi. It was only 2/3 weeks old as i had recently got it on my insurance as my old phone had broken. It was in very good condition and so i expected the full £59 quote. My phone failed the testing and the price was revised to £45 due to scratches on the handset. I emailed Bozowi asking to see proof of the scratches and damage to my phone and they responded saying it would take '48 to 72 hours to the evidence', which i thought was fair. I received the email on early April 22nd, so they should've sent me the photos by the 25th. I didn't receive any contact from Bozowi and they didn't send me the photos. Today (26th), i emailed again asking what was happening and now it has simply come through on the website that they have processed the £45 reduced price as i had 'accepted it'. I have received no reply to email yet and I definitely haven't accepted it and if its related to a rule on timings etc, then i believe it could've waited until i have received the proof of damage to the phone. I would recommend not using this company as they seem to downgrade most handsets. Their customer service is also poor as they take a long time to respond to emails and when i tried to ring the company, no-one even picked up. I won't be using this company again.
I sent my device in to Bozowi (Ipodphoto 4th generation). I was given a recycling price of £20.00 for a working device, which it was. I had an email 25/4/2013 from Bozowi saying that they had received the device however it had been downgraded to £4.87 as there was a software corruption on the ipod. In doing my research I found that this could simply be rectified by doing an apple software update. I contacted the company Bozowi to query this and explained I didnt think the device should be marked down for the reason they stated as the phone was only being recycled and it was neither here nor there as to whether the software was updated or not. The lady could not give me an answer in which she replied, "look, you either accept the downgraded price or we can send the ipod back to you for £5.00." customer service obviously not their strong point. I was agrreaved that I would be paing more in postage than what they were stating was the ipods "worth". I therefore felt I had no option than to accept their price. If the ipod is used to recycle parts why does it matter re. software? Obviosuly now I cannot test the item myself again without it costing me. I know the value of the ipod was low at £20.00 in the first place but it was the principal of it all. I wish I had read previous reviews of this company. I will not be using them again nor will I recommend them to people I know. They haven't tried to sort this out for me at all preferring to adopt the like it or lump it attitude. Not very professional!!! update- received a further email later today saying that bozowi would not be able to process the payment as it has to be a minimum of 10 spend. I cannot have the ipod back as the order has already been processed however they wont give me my money either. I have to sell them more recycled phones etc to get the amount above 10 pounds. I advised them I certainly wont be using their company again and I want my money and they have declined. I have asked to speak to a manager and this request has also been declined. To me this borders on theft, all you get back is you should have read the terms and conditions. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
Placed order online Thursday, Monday morning received postal pack and sent off same day. Got worried after reading reviews on here but thought give it a week or so before I panic. I had chosen paypal as a payment method. Tuesday night I checked my paypal account and money is in, now that's what i call fast. I got pad the full amount for my S3 which was only 2 months old just checked my spam folder and in there were emails from them confirming receipt of handset and that payment had been sent. Would use again and recommend to all.
i sent my blackberry curve over a week ago which took a while for bozowi to acknowledge. could have been the royal mail so not too bothered about that. but they say they send an email when they receive it- they didnt. downgraded the cost by £5 which was fine, and i accepted. then got an email saying 'my bank details were wrong and the payment had 'bounced back'. they werent- i know my bank details and they definitely werent wrong. tried to call bozowi but of course they dont answer the phone. whats the point? anyway, updated bank details to the exact same bank details (which are correct) and will see what happens. not holding up much hope due to the other reviews but im owed money so hopefully theyll pay me ASAP. one other thing. i was happy to accept the £5 downgrade to network being locked but theyve now automatically downgraded it again to by a further £5 without any warning, email or advising why. bozowi- care to explain?
I sent my fully working Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray into them after them quoting £56.80 for the handset. They sent me an email a few days later telling me that the phone has water damage! I had been USING the phone the day BEFORE I sent it! they dropped their 'offer' to £28.40! a Drop of £28.40 within the email they didn't mention anything like that, they just said 'There has been an update to your order'. and to login to my account on their website. After doing so, it gave me the option to accept or reject the offer. of course I rejected it and they WILL NOT send the phone back to be without me PAYING THEM £10 for postage! How can a company break a phone, lower the cost and charge you for asking for it back!!!! This cannot be legal, even if it is in their 'terms and conditions'. UPDATE FURTHER TO REPLY: Bozowi. You have lied to me you you are NOT being fair. My phone was working PERFECTLY. YOU must have damaged it to trigger the indicator. I am insulted at your reply and my anger for your so called company cannot get any more. I have tried to call you to discuss this but as mentioned in previous comments, you never answer the phone hiding behind a computer screen is NO WAY to conduct business.
Sent 'phone via post office and got proof of posting. Didn't get notification that Bozowi had received the handset until AFTER the deadline had expired (REALLY? - see other feedback posts to see that this is clearly a ploy used to explain why they give you less than originally quoted...). Impossible to get through to them on the 'phone, and when e-mailed got told that postage delays weren't their problem and to take it up with post office ! I use Royal Mail all the time to send packages all over the UK as part of my own business and have NEVER had this issue before. This is clearly a ploy, and although Bozowi did finally credit me with an amount consistent with what other recyclers were offering for the same handset, offering a greater amount in the first place to entice you to use them and then using the postage delay thing as an excuse is cynical, p**s poor customer service, and downright WRONG !! Will never use them again or suggest them to anyone I know. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID !!!!!!!
Hopefully you read this review this review, and those below, prior to engaging with this company. I sent my Samsung Galaxy S2 on Monday April 2nd via first class delivery after being quoted £152. Delivery was confirmed by Royal Mail the following day. No email was received to confirm this from Bowozi however as they advise they will. In fact I received an emailing another 24 hours later stating that my handset had been recieved followed by another email only a few minutes later downgrading my original quote by over £100! I accept my handset was not brand new hence why I received a "used" quote. It is imperative that anyone who is considering using this company reads the small print in detail, you will for example have further reductions on your original quote by £17 if your phone is network locked and in theory your "used" phone should be in a brand new condition in order to recieve the quoted payment. In addidition to this if you decline the offer and wish to have your handset returned this will cost you £10 - incurring yet more cost. Of course this is if you are able to reach anybody in customer service. I have spent in excess of £5 attempting to contact this firm on numerous occasions. (The 0845 number provided is charged at a premium rate regardless of wether or not some body answers. Often the line will ring for 60 seconds before being disconnected). In addition emails between myself and Bozowi customer services have generally been generic and have taken 24 hours to recieve a response. I accepted payment as I was already massively out of pocket and at this point I was willing to accept defeat and write off my entire experience with this dreadful company and even this took 7 days before funds where received in my account. I will never use this company again and would advice others to avoid like the plague! If the management and customer service team where efficient at dealing with their customers as the individual or team who responds to poor reviews on this site then the company would no doubt be far more successful. ** regardless of wether the 0845 number is national or premium rate you fail to acknowledge the fact that I have incurred further charges as a result of your customer service department leaving my calls unanswered. Not even an apology Mr Bozowi?! I can't say I'm surprised. As I've states previously my handset was indeed in a used condition and not pristine, hence why I did not request a "brand new" quote. You continue to hide behind your unclear and hidden terms and conditions! However, your reviews and rating on trust pilot are clearly a reflection on your company and business style. I recommend you have a look at the pages on this site for Mazuma mobile for example who have an excellent reputation and reviews. I doubt you will remain in business for much longer if you continue to operate your business in such a poor manner.
IF you choose to use Bozowi then always send it recorded, sent my phone on the Saturday which arrived special delivery on the Monday at 8:30 didn't get the order received until I chased them. More than 24 hours later though they state they will tell you the same day its received. Phone was downgraded as it was locked to a network, fair enough this is in their testing criteria and I didn't notice. Again other recycling companies don't care if its locked to a network just the condition of the phone. I've asked for my phone to be sent back, for which there is a £10.00 charge, pretty much all the other companies are free next day. I asked for it to be sent back on Wednesday, its now Friday with no sign of the phone. I'm awaiting a call back from their office to advise where it is. All in all the company are friendly enough to deal with but I feel they should be more in touch with what their competition offer in regards to people who are unhappy with their revised offers. If my phone had arrived special delivery from Royal Mail then I would have no cause to complain but when you pay £10.00 and they cannot confirm when it will be delivered? That isn't good customer service and leads to people leaving feedback like mine. I will update when I get my phone back from Bozowi, Hopefully I will have a call back shortly.
Anyone that is considering taking up the higher offer from Bozowi should most definitely read all reviews first, i didn't and it caused me more stressed than actually needed. I sent my perfectly working iphone 4s 16gb in white, lock to o2 to Bozowi. First of all i was given a quote of £232. All was well till i received an email stating “the engineers have tested your phone and have found that your phone has a scratches on the unit and on camera lens and phone is network locked to o2” There was no mention in the quote initially received about deducting money for the phone being locked, there is even the option to add who the phone is locked to. I also knew there was a TINY scratch on the camera but nothing considerable, i have taken many great photos without this affecting it. I was furious with the second quote they had offered of £162. The company then went on to say if i unlocked the phone (at a cost) they would up the quote by £30. I was not happy. The company is here to rip people off so they can make more money on the phone themselves. They charge you £10 to return your phone, which i ended up paying. I received my phone back on Wed17th April. I have since sent it to Mazuma on Thurs 18th Apr and they have paid the £210 quote straight away and has cleared my bank today, Fri 19th April AVOID BOZOWI AT ALL COSTS, OTHERWISE IT WILL COST YOU!!!! STICK WITH MAZUMA MOBILE, GUARANTEED HAPPINESS AND HELPFUL-NESS EVERYTIME!!
Disappointing ,could be worse could do better. Email reply's quite good. Leave bad feedback they will not pay you until you remove it...possible blackmail? Will try and scare you with legal action ,not the sort of firm that's wants your business again.
I decided on trading my Samsung Galaxy s2 with Bozowi after getting an online offer of £144 which was higher than everyone else was offering. The handset had been barely used and was in pristine condition. I packed the handset in its Proporta metal shielded slip case, which i let them have for free, and then double wrapped it in bubble wrap. Because the envelope that they posted out was so flimsy I used my own padded envelope. No news for over a week, and then an email informing me that the offer had been downgraded to £75 due to scratches and cracks to the handset ! When the handset left me you would not have been able to to distinguish it from a new handset, and it was pretty well bomb proof when I posted it due to the metal case, layers of bubble wrap, and robust padded envelope. I quickly realised that I had been scammed. Of course, I could reject their £75 offer, no doubt get scammed again for the postage, and have my handset returned to me with some newly acquired scratches and cracks, but hey, they've already mugged me once. I just have to walk away even though I feel pretty stupid for being taken in. My advice for anyone thinking of trading in their phone to Bozowi, Don't! They have a slick looking website, and to anyone coming across them for the first time they would look quite professional, which is all part of the deception. You would not get people to post in their valuable handsets to a company with a Mickey Mouse looking website. To sum up. Sell your mobile to Envirofone , or put it on EBay, or even give it away, but don't get scammed like I did. Even though I have a sort of grudging admiration for them, they won't be around for too long. Got the pretty much standard response from Bozowi below. Not for my benefit obviously, but more for the benefit of customers who may be toying with the idea of using them. They really must think that I, and all the many customers that have left bad feedback are daft. For anybody reading this who is undecided, compare their feedback with that received by the many ethical phone recycling companies and draw your own conclusions. Also ask yourselves this. How is it that they can offer so much more than other recycling companies and yet still stay in business? It's not rocket science! I am looking forward to receiving the inevitable legal letter from them regarding impacting business. I can then post my reviews on the many many review sites on the web. READ AND BE WARNED!!!! A FULL 5 DAYS AFTER ACCEPTING THEIR DERISORY OFFER STILL NO PAYMENT!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID. THEY HAVE HAD MY HANDSET FOR OVER TWO WEEKS AND WILL NOT PAY. THEY SAY THAT THIS IS BECAUSE OF A DISPUTE. THEY NO LONGER RESPOND TO MY EMAILS AND CAN'T BE CONTACTED BY TELEPHONE. BOZOWI .....THERE IS NO DISPUTE. JUST PAY ME OR RETURN MY PHONE. WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL!!! I HAVE POSTED A REVIEW ON REVIEWCENTRE WHICH THEY ARE TRYING TO REMOVE BECAUSE THEY SAY IT IS AFFECTING THEIR BUSINESS.......I REALLY DO HOPE SO! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEM.....READ ALL THE REVIEWS BUT IGNORE THE FEW POSITIVE ONES THAT THEY POST THEMSELVES....BUT MOST OF ALL, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND THEM YOUR HANDSET!!!! Update..... Nearly 3 months later. Still no payment or correspondence from them. Hopefully they are no longer in business as they are not fit to trade!
