This review pertains to the Winston-Salem North Carolina location at the mall on Hanes Mall Boulevard and the several Representatives I spoke to over the phone who are located who knows where. Somehow someone fraudulently opened an account using one or more pieces of my information. Every time I tried calling back in I got inconsistent information from the customer Representatives. No one seemed to agree on how to handle fraud. And I was given no assurances that it would not happen again. I asked if there was some way to put a hold on my account and they said no. I asked if there was a way to block any new accounts related to my name from being created and they said no . If I could switch tomorrow I would but unfortunately they are the only Communications provider in my area. Furthermore, every time I go into their Spectrum store they are not transparent at all in their Communications. I'm never given any printouts, I'm never sent any emails to confirm anything that they've said. That just seems like they're trying to cover themselves legally if something happens.
I am in disbelief on how awful Charter is. We had their services about 2 years ago, it wasnt the best but it worked most the time. We bought a house in the country and Charter was not offer there. I reached out to them and canceled my service. They had me pay my balance and told me to return all my equipment, I returned all my equipment at the charter in Kalamazoo MI and verified that I didnt owe anything. Here we are two years later and there is a bill on my credit for $400. I worked so hard to keep my credit clean, and they screwed it with a bill I never owed.
Spectrum.net is a unreliable service. High usage times are a nightly occurrence where the service is lost. Of course, right at a critical point in the movie. The sneak in increases in monthly services regularly by adding $3.00 to $5.00 every few months. They even go sofar as to send you a memo of how the have increased your internet speed at no additional charge. This has never been proven, as I live in an apartment building with a shared service. I only notice an increase of at least once daily a lost connection. Customer service is extremely rude! Paying $93.00 per month for a completely fraudulent service is just wrong!
Sudden increase in the bill. Customer service is disservice to the customers. Avoid getting their service. There are much better options now.
Below one star. This company does business illegally - advertises rates that are nonexistent - and does not credit the customer when outages exceed their guarantee. States that allow Spectrum to do business this way are also compromising their reputation. Its always shocking to encounter large companies that prefer to do business dishonestly.
pectrum Mobile's has misleading advertisements and deceptive practices. Spectrum claims to offer a phone buyout program up to $500 per phone, but this is far from the truth due to numerous hidden conditions. Firstly, there is a cap on the reimbursement amount, despite the promise of a $500 buyout per phone. Additionally, the process includes a soft credit check, and the reimbursement amount is contingent upon the results of this check. When I requested the policies that determine the reimbursement eligibility, Spectrum refused to provide this information. This lack of transparency and misleading advertisement is unacceptable. I expect Spectrum to honor their advertised promises or provide clear and upfront information about all conditions and limitations.
So, Charter Communications released a brand new promotion that claims to aid new and existing customers. This promotion is on their corporate website guaranteeing better speeds and more choices for their customers. One such option is getting the 1GB internet service for $40 when bundled with 2 lines of Mobile 'AND/OR' Video Service. Upon contacting Spectrum/Charter about this because I was confused about pricing and billing. I was told that this only applies to NEW customers, so the current existing customers who have been with Charter are pretty much shafted on this promotion as I wanted to bundle my Internet with 2 lines of their mobile service that I have for myself and my son. Their website does NOT state this is only for new customers. So now I am looking at a bill of $85 for my internet instead of the $40 a month AND a $95 dollar month for the mobile. The mobile I am fine with, but why is my internet bill NOT lowered to $40 and instead placed at $85? This is false advertising, I have even taken a screenshot of what is posted on their website. This is ridiculous, they claim to want to keep customers yet negate existing customers from being able to partake of the promotional deal!? 1/5 stars 1/10 for customer loyalty on this companys' behalf. This better get fixed or I would suggest we all who are existing customers take this up with the BBB.
I recently went with a different service provider. When I called Charter to cancel service, they informed that they don't prorate. Is it that no one there can do the math? I feel I've been cheated out of $95 dollars. Yes, Charter was charging me an exorbitant rate for crappy wi-fi, and I had just paid my bill. What's almost amusing is that the person at Charter was in for the hard sell, telling me how much I would save if I just put my cell phone, cable TV and my Internet with them. The fact that I felt like they stole $95 dollars from me doesn't make me want to ever do business with them again. Really Charter? If you want my business, stop ramping up rates and learn how to do the math.
The last couple of years Spectrum has sent me emails. This is due to another person called Jesus who has given Spectrum my email address without asking. He keeps on renewing his subscription. I try to contact Spectrum to please make them correct the info so I dont recieve emails but I can only talk to a bot. Marking as spam doesn't work. Why doesn't Spectrum send an authentication email before creating account? How is it possible for someone else to use my email this way? STOP sending me emails...
Messed up my move. Back charged me for service for old address even after asking for cancellation. Dishonest billing and the right hand doesn't have a clue of what the left is ripping off.
Spectrum overcharged me for years, the bill kept going up for internet service that kept going down more and more frequently. Constant outages. I called last month to cancel because I switched to Hawaiian Telecom. They kept giving me the runaround, putting me on hold, sent me to "customer retention" department. After an hour the call dropped and they never finalized the cancellation. I got busy with family visiting and didn't have time to call back, just called yesterday (2 weeks later) to find out they're charging me $75 for this month of internet service that I didn't even use. The customer service agents are completely useless and supposedly can't remove the charge. They can't prorate the service either. What a racket. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS RIPOFF COMPANY!
Spectrum gets lots of bad reviews...well deserved. A so called chat line repairman promised to get my computer on line within minutes...instead my system crashed. I saved my work and files (I am a writer) with the help of good computer repair shop. I asked Spectrum to reimburse me $200 for the work. They refused, telling me they are not responsible for damages done while troubleshooting a problem. If you are a customer already, I advise that you disengage. If you are considering Spectrum think again.
We would like to point out this company has no connection with Spectrum SMT !
Who is running this company where do they go to business school cuz I sure as hell want to make sure I never waste my money at that college They've got great products the internet's so high speed it will hat blow off your hat when you walk by but their customer service oh my God that is a different story I mean they're robbing the company blind and running off all their customers all they do is take stuff off your account just over the next person they transfer you too can add it back to your account and get the commission for selling you the same thing they just took off and and their employees know about it so how come the CEO everyone's running that place doesn't know about it they're not paying attention they don't care or they're in on it as simple as that another service for a little while now almost a year I think my bill is never the same each month that goes up up and up for no reason I'll call and tell me they got it fixed but the next month my bill will be even higher and now it's so high that I can't even pay it I got stuck with a phone I don't even want it didn't want try my best stop it from being ordered they took me with it anyway but come on I'm just I'm just a good old boy from North Carolina you know I don't know much about business but I know one thing if you don't know what's going on in your own company or don't even care to know what's going on in your own company you just step aside and let someone that does take control and your customer service they don't like it now hire somebody else I need a job
I just changed my service to T mobile and I'm very happy with them. Now Spectrum is offering to lower my price which is still higher that T mobile. I returned my equipment today and the returns email shows that I still have an active account even though I cancelled it yesterday, Now I have to contact them AGAIN (third time) and they tell me it is cancelled and that they WON"T prorate the bill even though it's been only 2 weeks of service they still are going to charge me a full month $85. I said to them "of course you are" because I would expect this company to grab every last dollar from it's customers that they can. I'm Very happy to be leaving Spectrum for T Mobile.
RUN do not walk away from this bunch of liars and thieves. We tried to COME BACK after being away for years and before we could get the internet equipment they tried to say we still owed them $500 for equipment we turned in years ago when we were with them. We had already purchased an iPhone so we cancelled everything and send the phone back and upon receipt of a brand new never used phone in the box they are saying something was wrong with it and only giving us $37 back out of $117!!!!! Bunch of liars and thieves.
I wish we had an alternative choice. Their customer service full of liers and theirs never any evidence of what they offer you meaning you waste hours with exculations that don't care and all cover for eacher. The customer is never priority just offers to take more money as much as they can from you.. .HATE HATE HATE this company ... I beg for a competitor......
Returned cable equipment in person 9/26 and requested to cancel cable and keep internet. Confirmed with customer service representative at the counter that all would be handled. Spectrum then billed for cable. Called to have bill corrected before it hit account 13 days later 10/15. Stayed on hold and tied up with Spectrum for over 45 minutes. Spectrum responded that in store representative was unable to remove cable, customer service over the phone is unable to remove cable, only retention services can remove cable. Spoke with retention services over the phone. Assured me that cable was back dated and removed and would not be billed 13 days later when payment hit account. It was not removed. Back on hold today. Going on 25 minutes as of this review. In person didn't work, over the phone didn't work. They make it very hard to cancel and get your money back.
We are a local general contractor in Jackson, WY. We pride ourselves on being communicative, thorough, and professional. Dealing with spectrum to hook up internet at our construction sites has been a multi-year terrible experience on all fronts. Communication is non-existent, and there is no direct point of contact. It's the worst part of all of our jobs. When you wake up, question your purpose, and existence, the problem is surely... Spectrum.
I have been a Spectrum customer since 9/2/20 unhappily. The service I receive is deplorable. I have TV; Internet; and phone service with Spectrum. The system has countless flaws. An installer left an extra receiver and remote at my property despite me informing him I had no other TV for the equipment. I have paid monthly for 36 months for the extra receiver and remote. This alone totals $360.00 plus taxes. The reception I have an my TV has too many episodes of pixels or frozen screens. If I try to watch TV on my computer there is Spectrum's Menu Guide flashing on the screen constantly on any channel. It is impossible to watch TV on my computer. The WiFi with my service is non-existent. I have spoken to Spectrum. Done online chats. And as a last resort sent letters to Spectrum's CEO and Senior Vice President of Customer Operations in Stamford, CT. I am entitled to an ACP monthly credit since May 2023. I have received only 2 $30 credits since May 2023. Spectrum's response is to phone them. I have just undergone major surgery and I am not in a condition for any long-winded conversations that will resolve nothing. I do not need the upset. Sadly Spectrum is the only service provider in my area. In my opinion Spectrum provides customers faulty equipment. Refuses to take a complaint seriously. But Spectrum has the nerve to charge through the nose. My September bill was $255.49 for their Silver Tier service. An increase of $31.00. A customer should be able to decide what channels they need. Not the provider. Dealing with Spectrum is a losing battle. At this time my only recourse is to return the extra receiver and remote left here 36 months ago; and return a DVR to reduce my escalated bill. I never expect to monthly receive the ACP credit I am entitled to. I will decide soon how I can further reduce my monthly bill with Spectrum. Additionally. I have never missed a payment with Spectrum. My payment record is flawless. Buyers be ware!!!
