Endless (seemingly endless) job postings. They market themselves as a nerdy company, but a more accurate description might be 'a greedy company'. Maybe they are like that because they are US-based from what I gather. The pay is just awful and the worst of any agency in the world I've ever come across. I hope they disappear soon. Many better alternatives exist.

WAS OFFERED A CONTRACT THEY'RE TERRIBLE DON'T APPLY. I went through all the stages of interviews etcc... and was accepted. I was then told to login to the site with the login details they provided me with. I was doing the steps and it froze. I tried to contact them them so many times but they never helped. I now cannot log in either. Below: I have written a timeline of events. 05/06/2024 09:55am - my application is sent 05/06/2024 09:55am - I am sent a virtual interview to complete which I completed 05/06/2024 14:29pm - I am offered a contract and told to log in and sign ICA (Independent Contractor Agreement), provide additional documents and complete background check. 05/06/2024 22:36pm - Their website stops working after signing the agreement and nothing proceeds forward. This is the first time I email them , as suggested by them, with screenshots 07/06/2024 20:39pm - No reply so I email again 09/06/2024 15:53pm - No reply so I email again 09/06/2024 15:55pm - I update them that I can no longer log in 12/06/2024 20:00pm - No reply so I send them a brand new email including all details from the first email I sent them. 14/06/2024 23:03pm - No reply but I am sent an email to rate their help : they also shared screenshots of my "queries" so the emails I had been sending, so they do know I have been emailing them but they just haven't replied or sorted it out. THEY DID NOT REPLY TO MY ISSUE BUT INSTEAD ASKED ME TO LEAVE A REVIEW!!! The audacity is wild. 25/06/2024 - 11:26am - No reply still, I have emailed again but don't think I will receive a reply so I am leaving a review here.

They will charge fraudulently The tutors will cancel on you and they… The tutors will cancel on you and they will charge your card fraudulently I had to put a report into my bank as a fraud charge so I could get my refund because they weren’t trying to give me one. OK so my first review was taken down because they don’t believe that I had an actual experience with this company and I’m only still using them because I have eight credits for my daughter to be studying for her SAT but no if you have an option to go to any other tutoring company, please go to a different one read all the reviews on this company as well because you’re going to find that a lot of people are having the same exact experience for you guys to flag. My review is not real. I will continue to post it every time I get an email to warn people to not use this company. Thank you. I have now sent an email to you guys with 30 screenshots of proof that there’s appointments made appointments rescheduled and the tutors canceling several times so there I will continue to post this check your emails before you want to delete my review.

This company is unethical!!! A very articulate lady called us, Alex. Yes she’s a very good speaker. Nice touch varsity tutors. But taking unauthorised amounts of money once you have people account details is criminal. If your a tutor/teacher and are thinking of working for this company. DONT!!!! Have some morals!!!!

PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!!!! They continue to take a large amount of money from our account for A level tutorial which has now be completed. The telephone numbers listed will not be answered but will have a bogus message saying you are calling outside of working hours. Calls are Canadian numbers in calgary. Canada. They will not answer your calls if they recognise the number hence you need to call from a different device/number. When you first contact them for tutoring they are very quick of the mark. Make sure you instruct your bank to not allow them to take any more monies after the tutoring is completed. If you do contact them. They make it very personal to you so you think it is genuine. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP THIS SCAMMING OF PEOPLE YOU WORK BLOODY HARD TO BETTER THINGS FOR THEIR KIDS!!!!!!! BE WARNED. Even the tutor who tutored my daughter said she had no contact with this company. Maybe people who are working as tutors for this company need to distance themselves too for their own reputation!!!!!!

About an hour ago we paid upfront for a months tuition. Minutes later we get a tutor saying your first lesson is 1-2 AM. I’ve tried to contact the person I spoke to with no reply. We would like our money back and want to know how to go about it? We haven’t even discussed what is to be taught and when yet and they said you should activate your account immediately. My wife and I are very unhappy/confused. After speaking for over an hour with company representatives ….sales, everything seemed fine, but now this. Can anyone help?

I am extremely disappointed on how my account has been managed. I have had money taken and those sessions have not been delivered! Im not very happy with that and would not recommend using Varsity Tutors. They will happily take money from your account and then expire those sessions even though they had not been able to find you a tutor themselves to teach my little one. This service is also costly, which I did not mind as i felt i would be investing in my childs future. The communication is difficult as they work on US hours and not UK, when you ring the number someone will eventually get back to you but issues were not resolved and continued to only get worse. I had about 4 hours left to use and as i decided not to continue with them, they just expired those sessions and i lost the whole lot of money. Altogether i lost out on around 8 hours which was two months worth of payments they took from me. Find UK based tutoring service, First Class learning and Explore learning have provided me much better services!

My daughter's tutor is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and she is really enjoying her sessions with him.

My daughter is studying for an 'A' level in 'English Language'. I asked Varsity Tutors to find someone who could help her improve from a grade 'B+' to an 'A+'. Varsity Tutors found a person who was an Oxford graduate with several year experience in improving top grades. The tutor was excellent. She was well prepared, very focused and provided insights that my daughter found extremely valuable. Varsity Tutors offer a facility to record each session and my daughter was able to revisit the learning. The quality of customer care is very good with a manager phoning me to check if everything was up to my expectations. I would recommend Varsity Tutors

Varsity Tutors have been helpful and attentive since the first contact I made with them via their website. They have provided an excellent tutor and checked regularly that all is going well. The app to arrange sessions works really well but the personal calls mean you don’t feel like just another customer. I would (and have) recommend Varsity Tutors to other A level students.

I am a tutor. When I first joined, there were a few bugs in the system. However, every time I asked, they solved my problem without any issues. They are very accommodating and the website is very easy to navigate. I feel like I’ve really helped student through this platform and it has widen my range of clients hugely. Highly recommended for any tutor who wants to start or broaden their clientele.

I have been a tutor in Varsity for past 5 months and the entire experience has been excellent.I have got a good lot of students to tutor GCSE's and the platform is user friendly and very thoughtful. The uploading process of documents and the sharing of screen with students have helped a lot. Invoicing process also is pretty simple.
