We had a Corksol render applied to the outside of our Victorian cottage by Taurus. The guys were very nice and eventually we have a house to be proud of. There were a few bumps along the road with difficulty in covering some cracks and damage to the existing render, but they persevered and made a good job of it despite being hampered by the wet summer we’ve had this year. We have really noticed the improved insulation now that we’ve started having to light the wood burners to heat the house. Overall very pleased.

A big shoug out to Darren who has been great and has helped us with the planning of an HMO refurbishment project. Darren is so knowledgeable in construction planning and project management. We were feeling overwhelmed with our project and by CDM regulations. Darren clearly explained our duties under CDM regs and he gave us step by step clear advice on putting together a Schedule of Works and covering everything we need to do in the construction planning stage. He gave us templates to use and offered his help throughout, making the process so less stressful. Highly recommended !

Jack and Darren were both great. We had an unexpected issue arising with our house effecting the original plan but they were incredibly responsive and helpful in finding a solution to the problem. They were both really hard working and it was a pleasure to have them here working on our property.

Darren and Jack have done a room insulation, complete replaster and loft insulation for me this week. Really happy with the work and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

We worked on a project with Darren which was a complete back to brick conversion from a 3 bedroom maisonette to 2 one bedroom flats. Darren was extremely thorough with pre-planning and throughout the entire project, knowledgeable with all aspects of the project, always on hand and on completion with snagging etc. He was always to the end of the phone if needed, and still continues to be. We found Darren to be an excellent project manager, we would definitely work with Darren again and would not hesitate to recommend him.

I would like to thank Darren. I found him very helpful and knowledgeable, I need help refurbishing my rental property in particular the EPC, and getting it up to a level C. Not only was Darren able to advise on heating and insulation that was needed to get it to a level C. He was then able with his team to carry out everything that was needed making it super easy for me!! Thanks

Darren is very knowledgeable and his Project Delivery Masterclass is one of the best training I attended.

I met Darren at a networking event where Darren is one of the experts and oh boy he is certainly an expert! Being interested in refurbishments and project management, I decided to attend Darren’s Project delivery masterclass. I learnt the real nitty gritty of the whole refurb process. I particularly found the legalities side super useful as not many trainers talk about this. Highly would recommend Darren to all!

I took Darren's training in July and found it very helpful and informative. Darren goes into a good level of detail and I learnt things that I didn't know, despite having already done other training with other providers. The best thing, however, is that after the training Darren is still happy to offer guidance and support and answer any questions, all these months later, which is worth a lot to me. There is also a members area where you can access the course content which is very handy to be able to refer back to, especially if you have a memory like mine. Thank you Darren at Taurus 🙂

As they say, you don't know what you don't know. The gap in my knowledge before this training course was the compliance aspect of running a refurb/development project. Other training providers always stress the importance of being compliant in terms of insurances, ombudsman membership and potentially AML, but they gloss over compliance requirements for a development project - I knew little about CDM and other regulatory requirements. I now feel more confident in everything from the initial viewing, estimating costs, finding a build team and complying with all regulations. Importantly, I'm now comfortable that I won't be in breach of regulations with my first development project.

Being a young entrepreneur in the property space was very daunting and unknown for me but with the mentorship of Darren, I gained valuable knowledge and was able to massively excel within 6 months. Darren helped me understand the ins and outs of property sourcing and helped develop a mailing list of over 50 investors. Darren also provided on the job experience when it came to managing refurbs for clients in which he did an amazing job in executing the project for his client. I highly recommend Darren as a mentor he takes into consideration your goals and abilities then creates actions via weekly calls that take you to the next level!!

Regardless of your Strategy, if you are serious about being involved in property you must understand the process for project management of a refurb. Even for someone like myself who works as a buying agent I knew this knowledge would put me above me my competition. When speaking to investors they need to know you understand the foundations of your business but also the literal foundations of property. How to detect damp, spot structural issues and evaluate if it’s a simple plaster job or if the integrity of the building is compromised. Darren not only showed me the tools to do the job, but he also told me where to buy them, he told me how to apply them, he told me the healthy and safety regs that governed them. It was so much information but I never felt overwhelmed because Darren intentionally keeps the group small so there is plenty of room for Q&A throughout. Often in courses you will get templates to help you understand the material, but Darren didn’t just provide this he explained how he uses them. One highlight for me was hearing a real case study from Darren’s portfolio. What went wrong the cost involved and most crucially how this impacted the statement of works. It was quite impressive to see how Darren had factored in contingencies knowing problems encountered throughout the duration of the project are expected and its how your processes need to be solid and well thought out to deal with them in a time efficient manner. To summarise I knew a little bit about refurbs and project management before this course but now I can engage with build teams, speak to merchants, and have input on conversations on this topic. Its incredibly empowering to be on the phone asking a contractor if he works to CDM regs or is happy to work under a JCT contract. And answer any question that come back. Knowing this stuff, you feel you have a real leg up when on a property viewing and you quickly get called on by friends and family when they need some advice on properties that have been through the wars. It’s a great feeling to be able to help others! Thanks Darren, Look forward to developing with you in future my friend!

My partner and I both attended Darren Burrows' masterclass. Due to differing work schedules, we were unable to attend together but Darren was very accommodating. On the day, the session was intense. It was a great recap on what to look for on viewings but then went 2 steps further with tonnes of information about the stuff I'd never been told at property training courses and that was the health and safety and regulations side of things. The things that can really get you into bother if you miss out. I feel the session really added to my UDP and I would recommend this session to other deal packagers like myself or anyone doing refurbs and wanting to do things the right way.
