Fantastic App...easy to use, cost effective, friendly support staff.
Support team have been exceptional. Had a few problems to start with because I couldn't get on-boarded and take transactions as quickly and effectively as I wanted. Spoke to the support team (one person was ever so helpful but couldn't remember her name! sorry) and they have worked tirelessly to get it sorted. Finally got it sorted, got told they were rectifying the issue with the processor and now things should be working. They were honest and apologised about everything and made sure I was up and running as soon as possible. Now I couldn't be happier, been using the app a lot and so impressed with it all. Thank you to the team and would honestly recommend this to anyone!
What started as a great and easy way to take card payment for my business has now almost completely self destructed during its change over from one card processor to another. Customer service used to be excellent, it is now without doubt the worst i have ever dealt with. Phone calls go unanswered and emails are ignored. I am now 2 to 3 weeks without a card processor but they still manage to take payment for the service i am not receiving. I have noted some others finally get a reply and their situation looked at if they complain on here so finger crossed. Further to this review i have been contacted with assurances that they are trying to help but nothing actually gets done. Prior to this i would have recommended them to anyone, post wirecard integration these are the very last people you should use. Their customer service is swamped with complaints and registration with their new card processor is an absolute joke. What a real shame to have spoiled what was a great service. The follow up reply is just sadly the standard reply, they have been promising help for a month now but nothing actually happens. I have now left and have asked for a refund of my subscription cost for the last month as they did not provide any service. I will update if this arrives.
The team at SmartTrade were really attentive and always able to help out with any problems that were had. Highly recommend their service.
Absolutely fantastic app; but what really stood out to me was the amazing customer service team.
UPDATE: the support team got in touch and were extremely helpful and have sorted out the issue which was due to technical problems with the change from Stripe to WireCard. Although this does not excuse the issues, the support and service I received once someone was on the case was very good. I will continue with the app. Original post: The cost per transaction is not what is advertised. I cannot work out what I am actually be charged per transaction as it seems to be different on each one. They advertise 1.65% but I have paid 2.9% on the first one and 2.35% on the second. I have contacted support several times to try to get info on what the charges actually are but they don't respond. Currently I rarely take card payments and so did not want to pay for a terminal, but I will consider moving to another platform if I can't get any info from them. Hopefully someone will be reading this and will reply!
Very unhappy with this service, now they have moved over to another provider it’s even worse now there is hidden reserve charges on payments received from customers and we have lost all faith and trust in this app, we also pay the monthly charge as a sole trader so after working things out we are better off with a terminal machine far less charges per transactions and the monthly charge for the sole trader is no different than renting the card machine terminal.
A really great trading app, very easy to use, works really well. What stands out beyond the functionality is the excellent customer service I've received from SmartTrade app, very quick response rate and a sense of real care and interest in resolving any issues I've had. Very highly recommended!

Very versatile app for taking card payments in person, over the phone or by email. Easy to keep track of jobs and send receipts. Prompt responses to queries and issues arising.
Incredibly bad customer service. Don't answer calls and after leaving a message they take days before calling back.
Makes running a business so much easier. No need for cash and it's the 21st century way of accepting payments. I could bin off my iZettle reader and just use my phone instead, without a contract and competitive rates for a small business. Highly recommended!
Great app, really easy to use
I have been a tradesman for over a decade, never been able to get a merch account. With the SmartTrade App i cant take credit card payments without a problem.
