I chose First Base Freight to transport my motorhome from the UK to the USA in May 2018 and back again in October. Prior to making a decision I sought several quotations and First Base provided the most competitive price. This, together with their comprehensive and friendly service, convinced me that I should ship my vehicle with them. Having dealt with formalities such as the EPA letter of approval myself, the transportation of the vehicle and its passage through customs, as a temporary import at Newark (New York), went smoothly. Likewise on the return journey from Newark to Southampton. The only slight hitch I encountered was due to the fact that I omitted to take an original copy of the vehicle's V5C registration document with me (a requirement of US Customs) and had to have it sent out by my family. At all points in the process I valued the cheerful and helpful advice offered by Nikki Laycey at the First Base office.
